Thanks for the thorough review. I bought one for my son and he loves it. The CDP-360 is capable enough for the money, nice piano and synth sounds sturdy build, build-in FX, stereo audio in for playing along and good enough hammer-like keybourd action. And it has Rhodes piano sounds in it, an important add-on. No build-in Bluetooth MIDI though, (available as an option as you guys mentioned). Kudos for the Memorymoog on the background. Probably the best-sounding analog polysynth of all time, especially with the Linntronics hardware upgrade.

I've always had Casio Instruments. Great quality and reliability. They are gorgeous imho.
The main upgrade point from the S 350 seems to be that this model has 128-note polyphony against the S 350's 64-note. There are a couple of other small things, too. But one thing they STILL haven't changed - even though many users have suggested it to them time and time again - is the volume control between two tones if you're layering tones together. You still get both tones at the same volume. This is a big drawback for gigging musicians. I have a 350, which I'm happy enough with - apart from that one feature (or lack of). My previous piano was a Yamaha P 85, which DID have that feature - as do both the Yamaha P 45 and P 125, which are around the same price point as the Casio (though without the huge number of tones). It was so nice to be able to get a Grand Piano voice as the main volume tone, with strings layered underneath at a quieter volume. Can't do it on the S 350... or, now, the S 360. I can't believe it would require too much of a tweak. Casio - please listen to your customers!

Note, there is a workaround for volume control of layered tones on the Casio S-350, through free RBK Mixer sw utility. So, it is possible setting different volumes and save it in a keyboard registry. It is not so straightforward like controlling volume onboard, but it works nevertheless.

16:14 - some of those sounds area really nice and sophisticated and remind of the 90's science-fiction TV show called Babylon 5, the soundtrack for which was composed by Christopher Franke.
Seriously considering buying this. Had the S100 before but didn't really have the time so sold it. This looks to be the same but with lots of additions.
Anyone know what the other sounds are like? Obviously I'd be learning a lot of songs using the main piano sounds. But there's always that friend that says "can you play this or that" so I'm curious if it's like a keyboard and can replicate some 90s and 00s dance stuff too?
What happened to the stereo 1/4" jack output? How can this board be sent to an amp, PA etc?
Can you list the upgrades that you’re talking about and what sound chip is in this keyboard how is the sound upgraded how did they change it

I was looking at the Korg B2 and Roland FP10 but the price point here for all these features is appealing. Can we use Bluetooth headsets with the accessory you've mentioned? Thanks!

No. Bluetooth is for Midi, settings, not for sound . Most respectable headphones even they are with bluetooth they have a 3.5mm jack input.
Them electric piano tones are amazing, sound so much the fender Rhodes and wurlitzer
Is there built in speakers in this one as it is in the S350? Is the voice patch patch new?
Can this thing be hooked to a pa or anything besides mic direct possibly a guitar amp?
My dial button suddenly stopped working. Any idea how to fix it? Or is there an alternate button fuctions as dial button?
While I think the 360 is great for the money, I find the controls difficult to see as they are not illuminated. I also wish Casiio would offer a comprehensive user friendly manual for this instrument. With 700 sounds and endless tonal options, it can be overwhelming for someone used to playing acoustic pianos. This review was cursory at best. I'd love to know the very best settings for those of us interested in acoustic-like sounds that i have been unable to replicate. Thanks.
We can use this piano like a midi interface on my computer? (to protools, reason, kontakt, etc?)
is there a synth lead sound in mono mode in this casio cdp if you press a few keys it only sounds one note?
Does anyone know how to save/freeze/store settings in the bank? My friend threw the manual away when he unpacked it and I can’t find it online.
Ya’ll mentioned the action feeling different from other Casio’s. So, is this a different action compared to the Privia models (PX-S1100/S3100)?
I have the CDP S110 which has the same action. The action has a decent weight - quite heavy and the difference between black and white keys isn't an issue for me. My issue with the S110 is the 64 polyphony as the piano samples decay too soon - I hope the 360 is better in that regard.
I’ve been playing piano since I was 4, 18 years now, and would love a keyboard for a college. Is this a good/best option? :)
the PX-1100 sounds better but has less sounds than this one. both are pretty slim.
do you know of a way to adjust volume of left and right sides of the keyboard when using it in a split mode? for example playing bass in left hand, piano in right. there doesn't seem to be the function built in. only thing i can figure is using eq on my amp to emphasize either treble or bass. that kinda works but real volume control would be better. (there is a way to adjust the accompaniment volume) thanks
I know your comment is from 6 mos ago but I read this is not possible. Having said that there is another review by the Alamo team comparing the S160 to the S360. Someone had the same question. One of the replies mentions another video to watch that explains a workaround for this. I'm not sure if it's built in or external.
Does the split function allow two different voices on either side of the split, e.g., a piano on the left side and an organ on the right side?

Didn't really go over what's new with it other than the optional bluetooth and polyphony? The S350 is $100 cheaper now for what seems to be the same thing.
I've had the 350 for over year and it was honestly one of the best choices for my first piano and I learned a ton of stuff on it..the 360 has so much more capability in terms of polyphony from 64 to 128 so that makes a difference to a good ear and also supposedly they enhanced the piano sample and upgraded the note decay..looking forward to sitting on one to actually see if there is any difference
I have the CDP s350. I also have a privia px870 both of which I bought at the same time brand new. The polyphony increase from 64 is major to a person that plays classical music or when you are layering sounds as it will eat up the polyphony quickly. Having said that I enjoy both of those and I found the px870 to be top notch and that's coming from a Yamaha which I had always had. The key bed on the 350 has a downside I don't know if the 360 has it but I would almost venture to say it would be identical. On acoustic pianos if you play up in to the white keys or The Black keys in other words further away from your body the pressure should be about the same to depress them. The px870 feels very good in that respect. The 350 model which is half the price is noticeably more difficult to depress the keys further in. I mainly noticed that on classical music not when I'm rocking out. Having said that I very much enjoy the 350 it has wonderful sounds I have it on a supporting stand and I have a good stage pedal. If you're new to playing you don't want your instrument wobbly. So I'm very happy with both of those instruments. As the other person replied polyphony is very important and that's a significant improvement that was one of the things that was really bugging me about this purchase with the 350 but I have to admit I love the synthesizer sounds as I used to have a Roland Juno synthesizer. I say yes it's worth the money if you can afford it. Sounds can be subjective so where I might like the new piano sounds the same somebody else may like them better and vice versa. As far as output I have stage speakers that I have hooked it to using the headphone out and haven't had a problem but generally for in my house it has enough volume with the built in speakers. I'm not an expert I'm 65 and have been playing piano since the age of three thanks to my mother being a fabulous teacher and still teaching. She played professionally for decades and made a good living at it. I hope this helps a little bit.
Is this the same action as the PX-S Privia series (1000,1100,3000,3100)? Casio site says this is "Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II" and the 1100 is "Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard"
Yes, it is basically the same. I actually like the interface (screen) better on the s350-s360.
@@mikemann4222 I was thinking the same thing; shame there's no line outs on this for gigging with (although that might cannibalize sales of the PX-S models)
@@islandtony5009 I use the Pig Hog PX-35T4M05 3.5 mm Stereo to 1/4 Mono Adapter Cable 5Ft to a direct box to PA. Works Great.
@@mikemann4222 Oh yes I know you can use an adapter cable or splitter cable and they're for the most part ok, it's just that headphone outs are typically at a higher level than a line out so they can be prone to noise. Have you ever tried a TRS to TR splitter instead of the Pig Hog adapter to maintain the stereo signal? Just curious . .

Is it worth to buy 4 years old Casio CDP 120 along with table and chair for the price of 250 dollars?
Absolutely. It's an incredible price and you're never too young.
Speakers only have 8w. That must sound quiet and disappointing?
Went to the piano warehouse to take a look at the Roland fp-30, Casio privia px-870/3100 but this was the one that took my breath away~

@@Matt_bechillin The Roland had good features and was pretty intuitive but I didn't really like the sound of it (more twangy, probably better for country/jazz than classical) and also shorter keybed. Just a personal preference but by no means lower quality than the casio
I ended up getting a Casio 2350s for the battery , portability and I love the keyboard, thanks for your input I actually agreed with you about the Roland! I play jazz and still wasn’t a fan. Not bad just not for me

This is a good move by Casio. I guess we all lament the lack of proper lineouts.
Well, it takes batteries, but... I think Casio should have made a 73-note version too, so kids can take them on holiday or to rehearsals more easily. They'd fit well into more cars than 88s do. In fact if you're so good that you need an 88-note piano, then you probably need an instrument costing considerably more than this one does. Well it was nice of Casio not to poach one of Yamaha's special advantages in the P-series. I mean the length of the P-121.
We really don't need two people reviewing one instrument, especially when they interrupt each other. Are these guys major shareholders in the company?
