Backing off 1 rotation relieves tension on hose so it is not twisted inside the shroud. Using an impact drill at RPM used may generate friction heating of tubing liner which may promote early failure of the connection. Did he check whether the silicon lub is compatible with the hose rubber?

You seem to be using a fancy type I just use the trad barb and clamp the version for those that are extremely poor!
