Nicely played, especially the beginning. That was like playing bots - just try to survive until you get cards. You were the only player in the game I understood.
Hey @TheKillPeteStrategy. Thought i'd mention your comments about SSRI's are incorrect. 1. They are not addictive but you can go through withdrawal-like symptoms if you don't discontinue gradually. 2. They absolutely can be used long term. Considering discontinuation of SSRI's take ~6 months once achieving affect (treatment of the condition). There is no issue with being on SSRI's for years or decades. 3. They can be used for chronic anxiety, depression and a wide range of chronic mental health issues.
Yeah mate, you just described an addictive drug. Doesn't mean it can't be used in a controlled manner, even over an extended period of time. But don't kid yourself into thinking it's not addictive.
The microwave oven was invented by accident. In 1945, an engineer named Percy Spencer was working on a microwave-emitting magnetron, and he noticed that a candy bar in his pocket had melted. This serendipitous discovery led to the development of the microwave oven, which has since become a common kitchen appliance.
only a little bit in, but may I say that I love your turn of phrase!! intelligent conversation and accessible terms, with some fantastic catchphrases mixed in.

I not relevant for this game but does anyone understand how positioning works in capital games? I assume if people die they end up in that order (probably), but if people are left at the end do they draw or is it last person with a capital or number of remaining troops (so trick is to step off capital to save your stack)? As seen lots or different answers contradicting. Or does no one 'know'?
Is there anything they do to balance the game for the players who have later turns? I played a game a couple days ago where in turn one I only had 3 territories left as player 4. It seemed interesting in a positional sense that the players who start later simply don't have a way to counter these kind of issues.
Generally I prefer going last. Start with more troops, you may be forced to hit 2s or card skips on your first term if you're high up in the turn order. Going last let's you observe everyone else's moves and form first impressions. Which continents do they all want? What's their skill level and so how likely are they to misread your signals? How aggressive are they - if they're hitting more than 1s first turn you probably want to fortify away from their sphere of influence. Obviously you can get unlucky if you're last, your troops are completely spread out and everyone hits you before you've even had a turn. That's just the way the game goes. Generally, I see going last as an advantage if you know what you're doing.
Two questions at 10 minutes into the game: 1. Why didn't you move your 2 from West USA into East USA before pink hit it? It was blocking their way back into SA 2. Why did you go into Iceland when you knew black had to move out of America?
@thekillpetestrategy do you watch or listen to tim pools podcast? One mentioned the exact phrase of trusting in professionals, in which we concede, their lifelong studies are greater than ours, and our minor study. This happens to be a facinating subject to me. And with current political motives make for very unfortunate truths, or accepted truths and reality.
*My 5 year old walks into room* Pete: Something about smacking the shit out of him Son: Yea, smack the shit out of him! Me: No, we don't copy what he says. Son: Why not? He is funny!
I have started to play risk 1 month ago. Yesterday I became a Grandmaster playing only classic fixed. And today I lost it by ending 6th because of stupid SA-NA war. From my experience SA guy is always pain in the ass for everybody.
White played classic over aggressive noob, pissing everyone off and trying to bully the whole board at the same time. White just played... bizarrely? Stacked in Japan, didn't take Africa, broke both opponents at the same time instead of trying to work with either of them making himself a common enemy. Just really confusing play
For me I'm starting to find classic fixed too long of a game. I'm getting back into progressive. I have a short attention span so games that have multiple rounds for an hour doesn't bother me as much. Why is classic fixed seen as the GOAT among UA-camrs and the community?

It sounds like we have different definitions of the word addictive here.

I play over the board every christmas with family since I was a kid. Someone always ends up fighting over SA, it has ended in tears once or twice too.

Hey pete, what do you use to draw circles and arrows on your screen? Seems very useful for planning out strategies, especially as a starting player.
I think it's an overlay from the program he uses to record his videos.

Holy Smokes Pete. Its been a year since i first starting watching your videos. What a wild ride its been. Here's to the next 12 months Sir.
Red hit 11 troops in the first 2 turns and lost like 4 total. Actual God rolls. Probably does that every game and gets upset when it doesn't work lol
He was a mad lad
Red deserved to lose this one. I love how everyone ganged up on him.
Agreed, I bet he never saw it coming either and was like "oh now they are colluding against me, great"
Got a joke for everybody.
What's black and blue and pink all over?
Australia until they knock Pete out of it.

I believe that after all caps are taken, any remaining players without a capital all tie with each other.
What setting allows you to put different shapes on players locations?
Colourblind mode

How does ranking work. I always get first or second but it doesn’t seem to count second place as a win

Do you think in purple's shoes there was any way of winning or was their death inevitable?
So black went for AUS instead of NA but do you ever try to help him round 1 by hitting blues 6 in AUS to entice him to go for it more?
Did you change the video title?
Thoughts on raising the min. level for a few games so it’s not all beginners/novices?
What ends up happening is intractable stalemates where nothing happens for hours. Potentially strategically interesting at times, shitty tv...
