    My husband told me that he is glad that I got this firearm and the way you are teaching me. I can imagine it's difficult for him to explain to me it's like trying to help a kid with grammar or Math you know it but trying to break it down so the kid learns that's where it can get difficult.

    She does a phenomenal job at explaining the important basics of handling this firearm. I have a better understanding of operating this piece now considering that I am a first time firearm owner.

    Thanks for this video!!!! Learning how to handle a firearm with these steps helped me so much. I’ve been to the range twice first time handling a firearm and no one taught me this way with patience. I’m also looking at purchasing my first firearm and this Rose looks interesting. It’s great that it comes with dummy rounds and a loader.

    I am following along with Lena to do each step (very well explained, by the way!), however, I'm having a hangup with dropping the slide with the slide catch. I used my dominant hand thumb, I used my other thumb, and I used both thumbs at the same time. No go. Only after I dropped the magazine was I able to drop the slide with the slide catch - and it was done easily, with my dominant hand thumb. Any thoughts on why I can't push the slide catch down while the mag is still in place (at the 14:28 marker)?

    Unfortunately my finger can't comfortably reach the trigger because I have a small hand. Though the fit makes this one a no go, I do appreciate the supportive videos. They are clear and helpful to newer shooters.

      I have super tiny hands too and have never held a gun and am not familiar with them. Hubby sent me another one of her videos. New subscriber already! I hope i can practice and get good at them and be comfortable with them. Basics like this help me not feel so scared. I'm in the stage of just studying right now. But soon hubby and I will get one. Just keeping myself regulated while even talking about them is a huge ordeal to me. Seeing other women with them also helps and this lady seems to know alot! I have a few neighbors and gfs that have guns so im hoping we can go to a shooting range together so I dont feel as nervous. We are going to go slow and lots of practice long before i shoot my first round.

    Ok my grip was my problem then , I tried the original version and it was really jumpy for my first time shooting and couldn’t figure out why, my grip was wrong, my secondary hand kept slipping off, and I couldn’t figure out why, I thought it was too much gun for me, and it made me nervous about trying anything else, but out of all the guns it was the only one that felt like an extension of my arm, very balanced and size was right, so I couldn’t figure out what was wrong, I thought it was the wrong gun for me

    • @Pr3lude9
      @Pr3lude9 3 місяці тому +1

      Look at speed loaders for mags. You can get a full grip on the loader, and basically drop the round in, and release spring tension again. Push the spring down with the loader again, drop a round, release spring pressure. Over and over till it’s full.

    Lena or anyone, I've been doing the Basic Firearms Handling video. I'm really having a hard to non existent time to operate the slide catch release. For example, when I do the release of a rack, I have to lean the pistol on something, to press the slide catch. The pistol is brand new, or am I just WIMPY?

    Lena I’m so excited ur teaching with Sig. I am a Sig fan and multiple owner. I’m saddened you’re teaching the “proper” grip method. I am a female and changed my grip to the way you shoot on ur dads UA-cam and I shoot beast mode now. Also, I had always struggled on quick follow up shots and YOU fixed that too! You said, “where are your (gun)sights going between shots?” My hope is Sig let’s your true personality through AND allows you to leave the “traditional men’s way” of shooting and truly allow you to teach for women. We are the big buyers of guns and the P365 has major competition. They can still lead if they realize your value.

    • @officialDavidRees
      @officialDavidRees 10 місяців тому +4

      The proper grip is foundational and has been proven to work well with the majority of all shooters, both male and female. From there, Lena has specifically altered her grip and adapted it to suit her personal shooting style, as many other professional shooters do after learning the proper technique. It has nothing to do with Sig being sexist, favoring a "man's grip". Since the proper grip works so well with so many many people, a majority, it's where everyone should start. You would then adapt your technique from there as needed. This is Lena teaching brand new first time shooters, and she's doing the right thing.

    • @VictrieB
      @VictrieB 10 місяців тому +1

      @@officialDavidRees yep, doing it the way everyone else does is the proper thing to do and works for the majority. (Majority: the greater number believes they have the greater power.) Fortunately, humans are not lemmings. Because of that we don’t live in caves anymore. Take a closer look at a shooter’s hands/fingers. Take a look at newer guns, look at the shape and texturing on the trigger guards. Unlearning a bad habit/technique (after having to “adapt to it”) is harder than starting with a different technique that worked best for you from the beginning. Grips are evolving caveman David.

    • @officialDavidRees
      @officialDavidRees 10 місяців тому +1

      @@VictrieB So you want the grip that works for the majority of all people to be axed for the sake of a special grip that only works for a few/you? Reminder, this proper grip is only a baseline suggestion, since it works so well for so many; and like I said, male or female. No need to dog the people that teach it the right way. ✌️ Also, I've modified my grip to this one as when I first learned, I used what's now called the "old school" grip. You can hold it in your toes if it's what makes you happy, just don't imply that someone who isn't teaching your toe method is wrong.

      . Hello. I am a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor, and I specialize in training Ladies. To release your slide after inserting a full magazine, simply rotate your firearm slightly to the left, reach up to the rear if the slide with your support hand, grip the slide with your thumb and index, finger, pull the slide to the rear in a sling shot motion with a short tug and release, and the slide will release and shoot forward.
      Caution: do not ride the slide forward, let the recoil spriing do its job. It doesn't need any help moving forward. I hope this helps you with your ma ipulation of your weapon.
      Thank You
