Fundamentally, water boils down to (pun intended) a bunch of H2O molecules. I would say “covered or saturated with water” means that the top or inside of a substance is surrounded by H2O molecules. In a cup of water, each individual H2O molecule is surrounded by other H2O molecules, meaning that individual H2O molecule is wet. This is true for each H2O molecule in visible liquid water, therefore the whole thing is wet. By your definition of dryness, liquid water can be dried too. That’s called evaporation.
Also, take ice, or water in solid form. You can 100% pour liquid water on top of ice, and then wipe it off the surface. So by your own definition, water can be wet in this situation too.
If you add water to water, it doesnt become wet. It joins the water and becomes more water. By definition something being wet is made wet by water. You cant make water wet
@@joshlaverick2002 I can see your point, but I don’t think that answers the wet/not wet question. You can add water to something that is wet to make it more wet. So if water is already wet, adding more water would make it more wet. So it could go either way
except that you can't separate H2O molecules to prove a point. a body of water is a body of water and you can't claim that a body of water is covered by another body of water, because they would both be considered a single body of water. and ice isn't water
