I agree 100% with you.Her real character is shown on the Made in Hong Kong documentary,where(among others) she says that she is annoyed when fans go and ask her for her autograph...In case she didn't notice,there are the fans that make a group so famous and rich.She forgot that 2 years ago she was nothing.NW became famous WITH Tarja,Anette came to an already famous band.
The new back vocals Tarja recorded for her live version of this song are much more higher than the original album version with nightwish... She sings live exactly the same parts that she sings in the Oceanborn version, and she is great in doing this.... At least she doesn't need to do playback like many singers do... I wish the best to Tarja!
I saw her live and her voice and technique were just flawless. I must admit not even her own DVD gets to show how good her voice is. The only difference I find is that she is singing now in a more operatic way but that's it. If I had to say something about Tarja, well that would be 'don't waste your time listening to cds or watching YT vids, just go see her live and enjoy her power'.
I like Anette's versions it's hard to compare them but they are both amazing and have their own style. Both women are amazing singers and no one should be discredited just because of their styles :3
its quite a nice version, but she was a little off key in the first set of opera and a little better in the 2nd set near the end. All in all, a great song :)

@benbruch it's nowhere near her 1st concert after Nightwish, she's had plenty concerts before this, the Christmas concerts in 2005 where the 1st right after the breakup that happened in October 2005(on the 22nd if I'm not mistaken)

Well speaking of which...in my oppinion I think its better that she left the band...so we have more of this beatiful voice in its own purenes and another great band with really good songs...of cause not in its original form, but still in a way of being fanatstic.

Nightwish has no business doing the old songs anymore. Without her they are just terrible. The new stuff is good, Floor is good, but they aren't nightwish. I think they should have changed their name after end of an era. Tarja is nightwish.. The band died 11 years ago in my opinion. With all that aside this is great, Tarja's band covers the old songs better than they ever did.
It was her who worked on the songs and she has got her credits on it too. It would be strange if she sung songs like amaranth which don't have her work on it. I don't see nothing wrong in singing a song she recorded in studio, like in a Phil Collins concert you still listen to Genesis stuff, or in in a Tina concert you listen to Ike stuff, etc. And Plus, if she doesn't sing this song live, nightwish can't do it anymore too, and being a fan of Oceanborn album I still like to listen to it live!
She has a good voice, and you can find lots of voices like this one if you search music schools and look for clasical music students, but there is one thing you cannot find so easily, and that's another Tuomas. Tuomas is Nightwish...
Have something to back up this statement? 'Cause I might throw a bit of links to concerts from last years of her solo career and you can clearly hear a change which tooks place (and still does). Going to a gig usually ends up better than just listening to music on youtube because all the excitement, crowd, musicians right next to you. Often you miss the musical details because of that.
