According to his pupil Manuel Rosenthal, Ravel produced this orchestration in 15 days in order to meet a deadline.
Yes for a silly ballet about Flowers. It flopped.
Thanks for making this score video!
I believe the piano version of this, its orchestration and the ballet expansion of Mother Goose all delayed Daphnis even further, he surely had to put that on the back burner.
he did
I missed the orchestral version of this from YT!
The best performance out there!
So you've heard Monteux? Ansermet? Previn? Maderna? Reiner? Boulez' several recordings? Haitink? Slatkin? Paray? Yamada? Ozawa? Dudamel? Roth? Cluytens? Vedernikov? Abbado? Golschmann? Ashkenazy? Lopez-Cobos? Mata? Freitas Branco? Pretre? Munch? To name but a few, most of which are more interesting than this blancmange performance.
@@So_Much_For_Subtlety this is boulez.
Who are the conductor and orchestra? Thanks!
Yes exact Ely: the question: who are the performers? Excuse me, but I think it's stupid to publish music wthout mentioning them...
Apologies, I had to remove the performance details to stop this from getting blocked, it is Boulez and Cleveland
@@RyanPower - Thanks!
