I laughed at the distinction of the Minnesotan accent from that of the rest of the Midwest. Lol...ask any Minnesotan, including myself and they would agree with you that the MN accent is different because of the high population of Scandinavian's. Every time I open my mouth I sound like Tator Tot Hotdish! Lol Minnesotan's love you, JVN!
Uff da. So true! As a Northern Mexican-American that was born and raised in Minnesota, I feel like I have the most confusing accent sometimes. Haha. And the variation of how thick the MN accent is depends on where in MN you are.
I’m Spanish once I slipped into a MN accent. Needless to say Spanish wasn’t my best class 😂

I always joke that our accent is basically Canada Lite, and the farther north you go, the more Canadian it becomes.
My mother’s lineage goes back to the mid 1800s in the Twin Cities. I’ve never even been to MN but I still have gotten a colleague encouraging me to keep talking because she was trying to figure out where I was from and had it down to between MN and WI. I laughed and said I was born and raised right there in Oklahoma where we were. She looked crestfallen so I cheered her up by disclosing that my mother was from MN and I knew what the “tell” had been; even I had heard the “aboot” come out of my mouth! Lol-my mother SWORE she’d never let any of her kids develop an Okie accent and she accomplished that.
JVN, you and Mark are adorable together and I will personally be devastated if I ever hear that you’ve separated. Be kind to one another even when it hurts, as married life can. As long as you each feel like you’re your best self because of your relationship together, it’s always worth working on. When you see that you’re not, try to figure out why and get back to that, together. I wish I still had my husband and miss the privilege of being my best self with his support and love. I wish you decades of love and the awe and intimacy of watching one another grow old. It’s very romantic when you think about it. ♥️

You always are making my day JVN 😊 I’m trying to grow my natural 3C hair out but (as you know) because of the texture, it takes forever to see a noticeable difference in overall length. I’m a gal who loves to change things up hair-wise but I’m trying REALLY hard to keep it virgin until it grows to the length I want it. It’s gonna take years 😭, but honey, the hair deserves it! Videos like this scratch that itch I have, so I don’t impulsively do something to my hair. Keep making more content!
