We get my daughter’s bed delivered today!!! So excited for her
Great job mama! I have a 4 yr old autistic daughter she’s in a crib right now and won’t sleep without a safety net over it. We are going through the process right now to get her approved for the whole bed (with the electronics) her occupational therapist has been a huge help with it! I was looking around to see if I could find a video like this explaining the whole bed bc she has to watch tv to go to sleep so I’m so thankful you took the time out to explain the bed and show it to us all! It was so helpful! We can’t wait to hopefully get ours for my girl

We're getting ready to start the process for both our boys. My 4 year old is level 3 autistic and is a huge elopement risk and my 8 year old has cerebral palsy and a traditional hospital bed has not worked for him because he pulls himself into the side rail with his good arm. I also think both boys being in enclosed beds will prevent my youngest from climbing on his brother. Right now, we're camping in the living room with me and my husband taking turns on who sleeps up front with the boys.

Cubby bed for children with special needs shouldn’t be priced so high that’s it’s unaffordable! Too many kids being dx with autism & other disabilities. Breaks my heart

Your video was so emotional for me to see! I have a 4 year old son who’s special needs as well. He is nonverbal, has autism, & he’s eloped several times. He also has a trach, feeding tube & had a heart transplant, so I’ve been diligently trying to get approved for it but got denied and I’ve appealed several times. Prayerfully we will be able to get approved soon!

I love your video!! I'm in the process of getting my son a Cubby Bed. He's 13 and has aggressive behaviors and has destroyed the bed he has now. His team has all written LMN and I'm hopeful! Your girls are precious!!!

First of all your daughters are so adorable! I’ve been a special needs mama for 11yrs my first son had severe brain damage he was on life support, couldn’t walk he was in a wheelchair, he was on a ventilator I could go on and on about my first born but sadly he passed away two weeks after his 6th birthday in 2018, 2019 I found out I was pregnant with my second child super shocked about it! Super excited as well! He came along and around 6 months old I noticed he was very behind in milestones as time went on I just seen so many Autistic signs and I took him to his pediatrician at 2yrs old he seen how my son acted just different in ways also fully nonverbal, so he referred him to see a developmental pediatrician boom went to the evaluation and right then and there she diagnosed him level 3 ASD my heart broke I’ve been a mother for 11yrs but not once been able to hear the words mom, mommy, mama nothing and it breaks me so much but I also know he’s not my children’s fault it’s just apart of our special life we have, he is now 3.5yrs old still in crib on lowest setting and recently started noticing him trying to climb out which scares the crap out of me, I got the application for the cubby bed a few months ago but waiting to get into see his developmental pediatrician to let her fill it out right then and there because her assistant keeps telling me he has to go see a place for them to evaluate him to make sure he qualifies for a special needs bed, he’s nonverbal, he elopes every chance he gets, he don’t sleep much at all so it’s a safety concern of mine that I’ll be sleeping not hear him and he will get out of his crib and get out of the house without me knowing also he is a extremely rough sleeper he throws himself around in bed bangs his head all over his hard wooden rails I’ve rigged them with pool noodles to help but he has torn them off and honest it’s a big safety concern so I’m hoping by sitting down with his developmental pediatrician and handing her the form right there that she will take care of it, she has already helped us so much with other issues and things he’s needed so I’m praying my son can get approved for this bed as well! Congratulations to you and your daughter I know how much stress this takes off of you, keep up the amazing job being her advocate our special one’s really need us ❤️
May GOD continue to watch over you and your family. I do know that with my daughter all of the medical equipment we’ve been able to get for her she has had to do evaluations first to qualify for the process. But Im sure he Will should qualify for a safety sleeper. If he goes to therapies I would also ask his therapist about the process to how they could help if needed. I just seen the advertisement for this bed today. I thought it would be a great idea for my daughter-in-law since my grandson has sleep issues even on night time medication waking up earlier than expected.

We got it covered under medicaid. You can google how to file for medicaid in your state. It helps a ton with everything!

Currently starting the process to get a Cubby Bed. My son is 6 ASD and Epilepsy he’s super tall I’ve had to boo-B-TRAP his door to keep him in his room at night. He also bangs his head first he would open his door and sit in front of his gate and bang his head on the door behind him. So I fixed the door so he couldn’t open it NOW he bangs his head on the window 😮 so yes we definitely need this bed! Any tips on how to get the full bed with electronics included??!!
Get a script from your pediatrician. Letters of necessity from your therapist! They need to be able to see proof of why he needs the bed! Every little detail counts in those letters and evaluations!

We followed the instructions that were inside the welcome packet when we got it. It told us what apps to download and everything step by step
Really enjoyed your video! I have an 8 year old son who has Down syndrome and sleeping has been a struggle for us. He is constantly getting up throughout the night and I worry that he will get into something or hurt himself. So it’s safe to say I don’t remember the last time I had a good night’s sleep. Though, I was curious to know what made you select the cubby bed? I have been looking into beds for my son and I have kind of settled between the cubby bed and the safety sleeper. Just curious to know what made you go with the cubby? Loved the video and it was very informative ❤
Sleep was a huge struggle for us as well! I chose the Cubby bed for the features it has. The camera inside, built in white noise, music, calm settings, temperature checks and so much more. I knew it would be the right fit for her💜

Hi I am in the process of getting someone to do a home visit. what points did you use to write the letter if you had to write one?
My daughter’s physical therapist wrote everything. We had a meeting went over the questions she needed to ask me to justify my daughter’s need for the bed and submitted everything. Any other documents needed the company called to let me know and I gathered those for them

My child is autistic and brakes normal beds. She needs to jump and jump and jump all night long and always hit her head or body on the walls or falls to the floor. Do you think this will be a safe option for her? How do we get a referral or who do we work with so they could know my daughter needs it. My daughter also wonders around the house. We still have baby gates around.
Im not qualified to suggest what would be the safest option for your child but I would recommend talking about it with her pediatrician or therapy team💜

It took a while to get the bed because shipping was delayed because of covid. But the approval process took maybe about a month
Okk I jus got my son bed I saw u said ur daughter got a full size bed my son is 2 and they gave him a queen size bed i didnt kno they came in queen but anyways he level 3 autistic and he nonverbal it took some what 3 months total to get
My son self harms himself so this is perfect for him he also had to get a helmet thru Medicad as well

Yes we got it through Medicaid. We got a script from her doc, medical necessity letter from her therapist and a few other things. Your pediatrician or therapist should be able to walk you through the process! 💜

Ok well i need yo get this for my 3 year old hes autistic and needs to have the enclosed space or he would enever sleep in his bed at bed time and just fight forever. Rn we have him in a tent for a twin bed thats the same thing as this but nut sturdy and can fall of his bed so we have to have it on the floor.
Does it get too hot for her in there if the side is zipped up? I'm interested for my son but it is a very expensive bed.
I have never zipped the blackout flap up because she already has blackout curtains in her room so Im not sure about that. However the bed itself tells us the temperature of her room through the app So you could monitor it that way also

What do you have for a waterproof bed cover on? The mattress are little one wets the bed he slightly artistic. And ADHD
We use a mattress protector and underpads under the sheets
