    Listening with my eris 3.5 and sub8, can confirm it sounds like this. Exactly like this.

      hey, could you teach me how to connect those devices each other without a micro station BT?

    • @isaac_avila

      @@Arturo07haven’t bought one for myself but I just watched a video literally just before this one about connecting those… first you connect your audio interface to the sub using RCA or TRS (balanced) then there are ports on the sub as well that output to studio monitors. They can be RCA or TRS (balanced) as well. I believe this same subwoofer model also has a switch that you can toggle whether you want 60Hz or 120Hz (unsure) to be the limit at which the sub would output to or even toggle it to even bypass the sub and send the full signal to the monitors.

    Sub is awesome, but 3.5 is just too small to cope with it. Also 3.5 gets easily overwhelmed on higher volumes. Definitely sub 8 should be paired with eris 5.

    • @michwoz
      @michwoz 9 місяців тому +1

      For high volume this might be true. For near field low/medium volume 3.5 might be actually better when low end is already handled by the sub.

    Nice. First song sounded really good with the sub, wish you woulda played it all the way. I would sit here and just listen to music with that sub. I connected an old crappy Logitech sub to mine and its better than it was listening to the speakers by themselves.

    Eris 3.5 doesn't sound good, they luck low end so I would not recommend them I have heard em in person, with sub I don't know. If you have an audio interface or wtv you connect Audio interface to sub to speakers, no need for Micro station to add sub, most studio, if not all studio subs have inputs and outputs for that, the only scenario that makes me interested in this device is BT, PC to Audio interface to Micro station to speakers, for instance if pc is shut down, can I use Micro station with BT to play music? does it add noise to the chain?

    • @BH4x0r
      @BH4x0r Рік тому +2

      i suppose people buy them because of their small size and thus probably low desk space, and the sub plays deeper than most normal 8" studio monitors
      it's ideal if you want small "satellites" to use with a subwoofer and doesn't need to go extremely loud

    • @chickenbeek
      @chickenbeek Рік тому

      BH4x0r is Basically right. I've been using a logitech z2300 for 16 years ( just blew them) I think the satellites are like 2.5" and i keep the 8" sub turned all the way down 99.9% of the time. It's not all the way off though, it produces the lows at the crossover frequency at the volume of the satellites that basically is perfect. It's so subtle you would only know the difference without it at all and have to put your ear to thee sub to know it's doing anything.. Even if i crank the volume 40% i usually keep the sub all the way down for rock and metal, or maybe at 1 or 2 depending on the album or content, and it's so massive. I think i payed like 180 bucks for it in like 2006. THX certified, i still have it's frequency response jpg from a review, the system is basically perhaps the best ever made for a desktop an worthy enough by far to mix on. Here is it's overall frequency response to KRK R6. imgur.com/a/VRLfV1Z

    • @BH4x0r
      @BH4x0r Рік тому +1

      @@chickenbeek it's not just the frequency response, the Logitech satellites have a certain resonance/sound that make it sound bad, perhaps also the phase response
      just doing a freq sweep and stuff isn't telling the whole story, neither is the THX badge
      i've heard the Z5400, Z2300, Z5500 and i had the Z623 myself, the satellites always sounded off to me.
      dunno why
      i prefer highs out of a smaller point source, it might be the movement for the mid frequencies fucking around with the high frequencies and some other resonances by the plastic cabinet, not sure.
      i'd personally use the e3.5 without a sub over any logitech set

    • @chickenbeek
      @chickenbeek Рік тому

      @@BH4x0r Yeah reference speakers sound like tht. Its a standard because people use EQ on their music to their preference. So it's a baseline standard. I run a slight global eq on these and always have for slight room compensation. Then run a parametric and 10 band in my music player. Loudness equalisation for YT and movies.
      But i want my starting sound to be flat. It's my same philosophy i've had for my guitar pickups for 35 years. I want all the frequencies and i'll dial out what i don't like.
      I haven't heard the Presonus in real life. But just observation from comparison videos that i feel the methodology of how they captured it is done well. The Presonus sound imo sweetened up to please the ear out of the box. They don't sound like a reference speaker. I think they sound "good" in their default state. Which is a flag. Doesn't mean i wouldn't try them. But the z2300 is some of the best money i ever spent.

    • @BH4x0r
      @BH4x0r Рік тому

      @@chickenbeek mate i'm tryna tell you that it doesn't sound flat to me at all, i ran Logitechs and multiple mid freqs have large dips and high peaks, i've heard a lot of actual reference speakers and studio monitors, and i can't call Logitech anywhere near flat, maybe the high-mid etc from the Z623 is worse than thz Z2300 but from the Z623 i can tell forsure
      never did external equalisation on it though
