I'm intrigued by this concept and nice demonstration btw. A question for you about your experience with the product if you ever have time to answer. I would use this to practice in hotel rooms on the go for example, how does this product function for rudiment practice and snare stuff ?apart from beats as you perfectly demonstrated in the video.. naturally I can stick to practice pads but it would be cool if this registered double strokes well. Anyway, I do like the product no matter, one for me to Christmas list
Wouldn't be so bad If aeroband wasn't a massive scam. They literally sue youtubers who give HONEST reviews. I've lost so much respect for the drummers that actually endorse this bullshit terrible product
Don't waste your money on it. Doesn't calibrate at all. Doesn't work worth a crap. Comes with the most confusing set of instructions I've ever seen. I've watched several of these tutorial/review videos of this product. And I got my hopes up because I trusted yall. Kristina, Cooperdrummer, and others. And now that I've tried the product myself, I can say there is absolutely ABSOLUTELY no way these videos of these people drumming perfect drum beats with the pocketdrum sticks are legit. No way. Sorry Kristina. I love your videos and love watching you. Same with the others I've watched. But I'm calling BS on this video. The product just won't stay calibrated past a few measures. When you hit a cymbal the first time then go back to hit it the second, its never in the same spot again. Overall its just a piece of crap product. I'm hurt that you and these other youtube drummers would recommend and say this is a decent product when its 100% obvious its not.

Hey Kristina, nice review, great skill! I've tried these sticks recently for a few weeks. I'm just a novice with drumming. For me they worked OK-ish at home, took some time getting used to, no bounce back makes things more difficult (a workout of sorts), there's some drift when playing for extended periods so frequent recalibration was required. But they were not a good option for on-the-go play for me - they start to fail when several other active BT devices are around (for example I had a pair of BT speakers + BT on the phone connected to PC) - start to lag or just completely not trigger, and since sticks and pedals cannot be connected over USB directly, in the end I decided to return and stick to drum pads for now.
If your learning drums best use a practice pad at the very least, these sticks will end up driving you crazy with the latency & trying to find your virtual drums which it seems keep moving.
I just bought this and can't wait to try it out! As a drummer that now lives in an apartment with no way to practice, i cant wait to see how it works out. Im not expecting it to be perfect, but from what you showed here, it should be more than enough. Thank you so much for sharing this. I cant wait to see how it performs!
I actually ended up returning it unfortunately. I could never get it to accurately detect drums consistently with over 2 hours of trying. It’s great for basic beats and simple fills, but impossible to do a roll on the toms or two different drums without it playing random drums. If I were a beginner drummer, it would be great, but trying to unlearn normal drum ‘mechanics’ to get it to work was too frustrating for me. All in all, it’s an amazing product, it just wasn’t worth it for me to justify the cost. Also, to get the best sound out of it, you really need to use the midi function and connect it to your computer with ez drummer or something similar, and that is also an additional cost. I am planning on buying an electronic drum kit instead.
@@rodrigoa958 I did the same and I love this thing! There's a reason why you can't play anything other than a simple 1, 2, 3 4 beat with these things. They're useless. I had more fun using drum sticks without sound... just hitting air
One thing I really respect about her is that she’s pretty but you can tell she actually is passionate about her craft and feels what she’s playing . I think that a lot of “musicians” use their instrument as an egotistical prop instead of a means of expressing what they’re feeling. You can tell when someone has it and when someone doesn’t, she has it.
Fair enough point you raise here with regard to the many an attractive player clearly seem to lean on their looks to help boost their viewership, and it's clear this drummers passion is so much behind her uploads and lessons that she clearly overlooks her own looks as any kind of additional pull to her channel. My own view though is , and as a super keen drummer, her looks isn't and wasn't a factor behind my viewing her work. The merit of musicianship and potential to learn is why I'm here. Mad so her looks are inconsequential for me just as another drummer with equal valuable lesson uploads but who could be deemed less attractive is only judged by me regarding the merit of their lessons and the like. She teaches me new things that I can add to my playing, she gives keen insights that show an expertise of knowledge and looks just don't come into the equation. That said, I agree with your point when regarding certain other channels that clearly market the individual rather than the knowledge of said individual. Hi Kris! Love vids! How did you learn drumS? Do you sing? How old are you? Have you thought about being in band or acting modeling? Are you married or in relationships? 😊
Huh, you make some solid points! Under $200 to have something usable and portable is nice. I'm not too familiar with MIDI anymore(use it or lose it, 😅) but is it possible to add more audio depth to the hits? They sound a bit.. same-samey and very digital, especially when just demoing how the product works. It definitely sounds better through the DAW, but it still seemed a little flat with some electric crunch. Thanks for any help!
Thanks to Kriss here, I just picked up one of these today on sale off Amazon (Aeroband is doing an anniversary sale) and Aeroband's website says the Pocket Drum 2 Plus includes a USB-C to MIDI cable. That implies I should be able to run the MIDI cable directly into the Roland Integra-7 in my studio, and play the amazing SuperNatural drum sounds I've programmed into it, right out of the box (without a keyboard, a drum pad or an electronic kit)!! MIDI is just an instruction set. It tells a digital instrument what notes to play, how to play them, how to modulate them, etc. It doesn't make sounds on its own. Sometimes you can still change the sounds, if they're programmed to respond to MIDI modulation. But my guess is you can't alter the onboard samples for the Pocket Drum using MIDI, they're baked in as-is, but you can use MIDI to route the Pocket Drum into the drum module or virtual plug-in that you prefer, and trigger those sounds as you would the factory patches.
Okay, I put some time in with the Pocket Drum 2 Plus. It's really fun!!! I'd say the biggest downside is that the pedals aren't velocity-sensitive. The USB MIDI cable outputs from USB-C and inputs from USB-B. I plugged this into a DoreMIDI UMH-21, which takes a class-compliant USB MIDI signal and converts it to standard five-pin analog MIDI In and Out. I ran the MIDI cables into my Roland Integra-7, and was ready to rock. The built-in samples aren't bad at all, but once you've got some badass, well-produced samples being triggered, it makes air drumming even more fun. I tried out a bunch of custom acoustic and electronic drum kits and had a blast. I also assigned a simple scale on a glockenspiel sample set to the various Pocket Drum pieces, and also tested the Pocket Drum with ethnic percussion sets and symphonic timpani drums. It's really enjoyable being able to play basically any percussion part in the air, on the spot. I'm definitely going to keep the Pocket Drum 2 Plus. I think it's probably the best product of its kind (using accelerometers and gyros to determine which drums you hit, and how hard). The next step up would be Aerodrums (which is confusing because the Pocket Drum 2 Plus is manufactured by Aeroband, and Aerodrums is their own company). Aerodrums requires a computer host, and it uses a Sony PS3 Eye camera with a lamp on it to watch reflectors on your (real) drum sticks and feet, and as a result it provides a lot more nuance in your air drumming than accelerometers can achieve (including being able to gradually open the high hat, which is very very cool). But Aerodrums comes with a bit more involved of a setup (laptop/desktop, camera, lamp, camera stand), whereas the Pocket Drum 2 Plus is ready to go, as is, any time, and as such I think it's going to be a handy tool in the studio and a head turner on stage. I have Aerodrums arriving on Sunday. Thanks to the Pocket Drum 2 Plus, my musical horizons have broadened!!!
The neighbours complained in front of my door. The told me I was very loudly playing drums. I let them in and let them see I don't have a drumset 😂😂😂😂😂 And they made their apologies for accusing me fals😂😂😂
Yo tengo un aeroband y no se puede tocar tan fluido como los haces en tu video, se descalibran las baquetas ,hay alguna manera para poder tocar más fluido?
Can this output to a mixing board/PA? It would be amazing to see a live band with a drummer playing “air drums.” Probably not quite there with technology, but a few iterations down the line, the reliability of signal might be solid enough to do without fear if signal loss. Great job! Peace!
2:27 -- can you do a video showing how to connect to Garage Band and show the drum kit on the screen? Also, can you show how to connect the PocketDrum to the Mac (cables, settings, etc.)? I tried to connect it but it won't connect on my MacBook Air.

What software to record did you use ?
Damn, that's coooool! I love playing with instruments, but go rid of my electron drum kit due to space and sound.
How does this compare to the Aerodrums technology. That one seems to be a bit more reliable can you advise .?
The neighbours complained in front of my door. The told me I was very loudly playing drums. I let them in and let them see I don't have a drumset 😂😂😂😂😂 And they made their apologies for accusing me fals😂😂😂
I need it!!!
Your a great drummer.
Is there a headphones jack? Or can it connect to Bluetooth ear buds or earphones? Hope so lol
Hey I remember these !
Yo tengo un aeroband y no se puede tocar tan fluido como los haces en tu video, se descalibran las baquetas ,hay alguna manera para poder tocar más fluido?
No idea this exist...Added to cart!
Excelente video, te felicito!!
Can this output to a mixing board/PA? It would be amazing to see a live band with a drummer playing “air drums.” Probably not quite there with technology, but a few iterations down the line, the reliability of signal might be solid enough to do without fear if signal loss. Great job! Peace!
Can you add an additional crash to make 2 crashes and a ride...
Very Nice!! Crazy... 👌✌️👏
ThumbNail For This is The Greatest 🤘🏻😎⛽
De reo speedwagon take it on the run ..podes tocarla❤?
My model is 2 plus, with 2 connected pedals, when connect to bluetooth midi in GB, the pedals had no sound, how should I do, please help. Thank you.
We truly live in the future :O
So how are you supposed to hear it than? Play it through a speaker or amp or something?
I actually like mine
Excellent!
YOU'RE SO PRETTY
I can air drum with my imagination, air guitar as well but not for real, good job Kriss!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
There is a guitar version too, don't know how good it is, gonna search for a vid now.
Different kind of amazing
The only real thing I can see this being used for is busking on the street , where bring out a 4piece kit is just a headache !
Если бы только мы все могли быть такими же крутыми, как ты 😎👍🏼😆😆😆
Hi Kriss will it work on Thunderbolt 3 IMac 27 catalina using Stephen Slate Trigger
are you able to import your own drum sounds?
Combined with VR/AR glasses, the experience will be really better.
U awesome 🎉🎉🎉
Does it work for dynamic playing as well? What about ghost notes?
2:27 -- can you do a video showing how to connect to Garage Band and show the drum kit on the screen? Also, can you show how to connect the PocketDrum to the Mac (cables, settings, etc.)? I tried to connect it but it won't connect on my MacBook Air.
Nice, but I'm learning bass guitar, I like your voice 😊
Interesting tech awesome drummer by the way your covers are really good
