We were a rookie team just 7 months ago as well! The tip is, put in a lot of time, get inspired by other teams about designs and programming, and don’t ever let anything hold you back
For instance, many rookie teams are bound in autonomous by the fact that PID and Odometry look so intimidating; PID is relatively simple to implement yourself, and if you wanted to use a library like EZTemplate or Okapi, you wouldn’t even need to code it

You can even do a IME odometry through an inertial sensor and encoders on the drivetrain motors (I think some libraries already have this).
