@msokolni DLSS you mean? It's not as good looking. Crashes are very normal this season for a ton of players. I don't normally run DX12 because it has never been stable for me... I just stick to ugly performance mode. I have tried with XMP off and on, and pretty much every bios setting you can imagine. @@TobyWanShinobi same for me with a 9800x3D and 4090, as I wrote in the other comment, it's unplayable. Epic refuses to give any kind of support, this is not ok, many people can't play with high-end hardware.
Thank you for this video. Now ya know what console players have to go through without performance mode. Cheers to the console auers who can keep up with pc performance players!
Hey Toby, bit of graphics advice. don't enable TSR if you have your 3D resolution set to 100%. TSR, FSR, and related technologies are algorithms that use clever interpolation methods and sometimes AI to upscale images at a lower resolutions to a higher resolution in real time, meaning the actual shaders can render each frame quicker. You can also use this to your advantage. If you set your 3D resolution anywhere between 50% and 75%, and turn TSR up to either High or Epic, you can most likely run Fortnite perfectly fine with hardware raytracing turned on.
Very relieved to see you getting the same crashes and stutters I've been getting, it's not just me! Interestingly I have basically the same rig but play in 4k and the performance is about the same as what you're getting. I assume this is because DLSS is a lot more efficient (and better looking) when upscaling to 4k, DLSS in 1080 doesn't work very well
I play on a base ps5. While I like to play in 120 fps and tryhard, sometimes I like to put it down to 60 & just take in the scenery. This chapter is gorgeous!
@@Bad4bizbrad that's how I am on PC. Usually I run 1080p at 480 fps in performance mode to sweat, it's fun to go in bot lobbies and explore at max graphics.
Hey Toby. Don’t use TSR on a Nvidia card. You get way more FPS on DLSS. I have an 4080 and have everything on epic except Effects. Put that on high and DLSS to medium or high. I get around 140 FPS on a Ultra Wide 1440p monitor. Give it a try :)

Thanks for the vodeo Now I understand why I crashed some times and had acasualy lags Also the elimination issue You can not shoot out a window because of the flair Thanks a lot❤
I play on 6900xt with 13900kf and 360Hz 1440p QD-OLED monitor at 1440p and it runs reasonable at ~160 fps +/- 20fps depending on map and settings. I lock frame rate as it improves input lag. Less lag locked at 120fps for example than if it was floating near 144fps. I typically use 50% resolution scale and most settings at high, some at epic. Shadows and reflections medium. RT doesn't seem to do much unless reflections are at least at high where reflections become actually very good and realistic. Performance impact from RT itself isn't very big but between medium (screen space) reflections and it at high + rt performance difference is somewhat significant. Planning to get 5090 and hopefully will be able to run with similar settings but with reflections at high and RT at 200fps and of course increased resolution scale to hopefully 100%. Going past what I set makes more hit to performance than visuals and going with some settings like global illumination to medium does a heavy hit to visuals so it is not worth it. BTW. Where it comes to scalers Epic TSR uses some trickery to not get blurry during motion. Some details are lost in-motion due to lower render resolution and in general but overall it looks pretty good and the higher the frame rate the less details are lost - or rather details get filled in quicker so visible loss of details happen with faster motion. Not sure DLSS if it is possible to use it in FN and if it would be better than TSR Epic - probably performance will be better because TSR Epic is somewhat taxing. It doesn't make that much performance difference at 1440p but on 2160p monitor it does and when I do run FN on 4K monitor (have like two gaming 4K monitors LOL) I drop TSR setting. XESS looks quite nice visually but it is a bit blurrier and also taxing on GPU. If I had Intel GPU it might be good option to run on 4K monitor. For 1440p monitor imho too blurry. Monitor-wise QD-OLED rocks. I also have 4K WOLED but I like it less. Also have fast 4ms IPS and it is definitely blurrier than OLEDs. Definitely getting OLED and especially QD-OLED is the way to go. Gaming monitors come at at least 240Hz but it is best to get newer models at 360Hz or even 480Hz - slightly lower input lag at the same frame rate - minimal but still. Also newer panels are just better. And lastly I recommend using VRR with frame rate limit. Less lag when GPU is not taxed at 100% and less lag with VRR than without. All set correctly (so also anti-lag features enabled) and even at 120fps there is zero perceivable lag. More fps -> even snappier resonse.
