@@chika_333 yeah not only is it a possibility that the color wont match but also the construction of the t shirt might not come back to the original shape
Yeah man, I don’t care if proper wearing a band tee doesn’t know the band too much. Who cares? Authenticity gate keepers tend to not know much about these bands in the first place. Thanks for sharing your collection!
Nah tbh I started caring bc its sign of the culture you are in and therefore an expression of yourself. Wearing band shirts and not listening to the music is like wearing a sport shirts just for the look. Peak of capitalism and imo a form of gentrification. But I also do understand why people dont care about it
tob7vz 23 that’s fair too but I guess I’ve always just assumed people knew the bands they were repping at least a little bit. I personally would never wear a band tee I don’t already like, but I definitely understand where you’re coming from. I guess I generally are not as concerned with perceived authenticity in the first place, but I guess I can understand what you mean by the gentrification / commodification of the culture or whatever. I just also feel like seeing a person cop a vintage guns and Roses tee and not know the band but like the design is fine because the band is already corny and completely commodified.
@@emoburger42069 fair enough, good point that the money is already a certain element in the industry. I think I have a kinda nostalgic and emotional take on this, especially music and still wish for the pureness of art without capitalism. And I see stuff like logos, signs and designs as a form of subculture. But design itself paired with subculture and trends is a whole different story in the fashion field.
I know every band shirt I own out of my 20-30 band shirts and know some songs. But I don’t listen to those bands like on a regular basis. I get them more for nostalgia reasons because most of them are bands that I remember my dad and uncle listening too when I was younger. Then like some late 90s bands like limp bizkit and stuff is some bands that I listened to as a young 7-8 year old child lol. But mostly I get my shirts for the fade and graphic. Like I have a bunch of nascar and Harley shirts. But I’ve never watched a race or ride motorcycles. But my grandpa watches snd rides bikes. Lol. It’s all nostalgic for me. Tour Champ did a lot of band merch and wrestling. So did Giant, Brockum, Winterland they all did like bands and music and some TV and movie promo shirts. Then there is obviously fotl and Hanes beefy and hanes heavy 50/59. Nutmeg did a lot of sports and nascar. Chase is basically all Nascar. Sansegal is like nature shirts, Caribbean tropic is mostly American Thunder and USA Thunder. Anvil is another good tag to look for. Liquid Blue was a lot of Grateful Dead and like crazy tie dye and patterns and stuff. And even gildan had some good ones back in the day. There was so many brands back then it was crazy. Stanley Desantis are mainly movie promo shirts. But my god. For you to be a “vintage collector” you have absolutely no knowledge of anything. You don’t know what any of the shirts or tags are and when they are from. Which tells me you just have the money to be spending at expensive rap tees and all these shirts but don’t actually know anything about the culture or anything like that.
I agree with your opinion on people wearing band/music tees that they know nothing about; Whether you’re paying respect, just like the graphic or like the way it looks on you it shouldn’t matter! Love the video bro!
happy covid 19 everyone - honestly the elton john billy joel t shirt is the weirdest out of the bunch but if someone comes up to you in the street and starts to give you a hard time bc you don't know the words to "Scenes from an Italian restaurant" they need to take a chill pill.
Just found out about your channel and man let me just say , you definitely got a sub from me You seem so interested into the pieces and it makes me wanna watch more so yo bro just keep doing what you do !
Really nice collection, I’m not a massive fan of the Rap or Sports stuff, though I can appreciate it. Being a Brit 🏴 I prefer Americana brands and Rock, Metal Tee. Lovely collection though man! Keep up the good work!
Anything 20 years or older is qualified as vintage, or so I am told by acquaintances in the business. Insane collection bro, we have the same eye for pieces - cheers!
I guess i need to get back my old t shirt which i left behind when i shifted my house....😊 Love all your t shirt ... so true not knowing the band doesn't mean you shouldn't wear it...stay safe
Do you know what is the model of that MoMA new era cap? Is it a new era 9TWENTY? Been trying to get them but the shipping price to Canada on their website is crazy.
Sick collection!! I wish I got lucky and found some heaters in a dresser lol. Who cares if you like the band or whatever is on the shirt! Personally I like to know a few songs by them in case someone tries to press you on it lol
I feel like if you're willing to own up to admitting that you don't actually listen to them and you just like the shirt, I feel like you shouldn't be judged
I have a 1994 Smoking Joe's Racing, Camel Powered, Racing Tee. Black with a greenish and purple neon print in relatively good condition. Anyone know anything about it or what it is worth? its about a XL-XXL
Great collection man, I gotta disagree on the “not knowing the band” aspect. If anything I think u shouldn’t feel bad wearing it but take the time to learn what ur wearing. Sometimes you may be supporting something you actually don’t support either politically or just in general. Should definitely do the research before advertising lol
Love the collection man! All those tags that you are saying aren't really printing those kinds of graphics. Most bootleg rap tees are made from either a mom & pop's store or someone who is trying to make a buck back in the day; other graphics that are put on the tees are made from a company's warehouse. Not trying to shame on you, but teaching you of what the graphics were printed from!
@@RaymondMiah i dont know i have shirts 30 years old with fitting necklines. did they get out of these shirts by puling them down instead of over their heads
I really dont know why people care cause it's like you wear regular clothing brands probably dont even know anything about that brand it's about aesthetic.
In not caring about the music act on your tee is disrespectful to music fans. You should see from both sides not just the fashion side. Music is culture as well as fashion. Wouldnt you be mad if you saw Logan Paul wearing a Miles Davis shirt and he didnt care about Jazz?
I completely understand where you’re coming from as a music enthusiast but for me, it really doesn’t bother me. I’ve copped a couple of music tshirts based on the beautiful print and didn’t know much about the artist. I can see where people can feel insulted by that but when it comes to me i don’t really care. I’d Love to see logan paul wearing a Miles Davis shirt lmaooo 😂😂😂
Nice collection, but you should at least take a minute to figure out who the people are that you’re wearing on your body are. You don’t have to be an expert in them but at least know who and what they representing and stood for. just my opinion respect.
yes do your research if you’re gonna wear a metallica shirt that’s like driving a car and not knowing the basic specs of it like cmon don’t rep shit you don’t even know
Personally, it just seems hella corny to wear a t shirt from an artist you don’t know anything about. It’s dumb to act like a gatekeeper and press some innocent dude wearing a random Metallica tee on the street, obviously. But, fashion is more than just aesthetics, it’s an extension of your personality and you’re going to look like a lame repping something you don’t actually care about

I wish there was some way to fix vintage tee collars. Like make them tight again instead of showing my damn collarbone
dude speaking fax
im thinking maybe remove the collar and replace them but i feel like its too much work and might not match the color of the vintage tee
@@chika_333 yeah not only is it a possibility that the color wont match but also the construction of the t shirt might not come back to the original shape
Ging Moon people do that all the time, they just have to fade the replacement / donor tees
im pretty sure to prevent it from stretching further is to avoid hanging them up and fold instead :)
imagine moving into a home and finding a stash of vintage bootleg music tees... with multiples !!! bro 🥴😨
