It's ConstantineH. That was an exciting night. Shame I had to log for bed so I could go to work the next day, surprised to see the night didn't end there. lol. I'm also glad I refused to spoil it for other skunks when they asked me what happened. :P
The last few minutes of this video just scream "star citizen's version of Moby dick" and Katie is Ishmael trying to get that great white whale, the C2 Hercules.
There was some trepidation expressed when physical cargo and piracy were first introduced, about how pirates could take large amounts of cargo without any real investment or risk. But I think this proves that the counter-balance is there in that it is very time consuming and requires a lot of people to launder large amounts of cargo like this, which is the "investment" on the pirate side. Really glad to see this actually working out the way it was meant to and creating these tug-of-war scenarios, really cool video.
BTW, tractor beams do work underwater if it's not too deep. I was able to tractor my corpse once from a shallow pool on Hurston. Got within 20m by hovering just over the surface and careful tractoring back into my Titan hold.
The opposing team was made up of a few of my employees. This encounter was all they talked about for weeks. They truly had an amazing time on this adventure. Keep up the good work!
three words: A-MAY-ZING!!! i was gripped with suspense as to how the encounter was going to end. the stealth boarding team was top tier a brilliant strategy.
@@Citizen_Kate it's so great to see people take it on the chin and laugh instead of having a hissy fit in chat. They flew EVA for at least 15k to counter strike instead. Epic!
thanks fishbait :) it was a really fun night and the players we faced off against were really awesome, especially their infiltration that was so unexpected!
When they first announced how soft & hard death would work I did forsee that it would mean there is no point leaving a C2 in soft death because you would be unlikely to have the time or capacity to need it's full cargo intact. It could even apply with smaller ships eg a solo cutlass pirating a FL Max or MSR cannot steal all its cargo so may as well blow them up and take whatever survives. Fantastic video. Time to start lobbying CIG for a submersible that fits in a C2 and has tractor beams 😏. Better still, people have been asking for a Fury with tractor beams so make it submersible as well and send a dozen down 😉
it is beyond me why cargo haulers with that much cargo do not stash a box mission box somewhere on the ship with that box marker you can track your ship all over the PU and the pirates would never know you could even stash it in the middle of all the cargo grid
I will have to check the footage and see if I looked at what shard it was at any point - if so, we could always go looking for it again if we can get back to that shard! :D
...and then there are people that say that Space Skyrim will kill Star Citizen. Oh my sweet summer child, I will not miss those flamers in the verse :D Great battle, great video! You filthy pirates ^^ Yarrrrrrr.
Man ship transponders would be a nice physicalized component to be able to destroy/remove to help with safe transfers or ship recovery but then again, there wouldn't be a C2 at the bottom of the ocean if that was the case!
Amazing battles and good sportsmanship from both sides 😄 I find it quite odd though, that a dead ship seems to have buoyancy, even if extremely glitchy, but nothing else behaves as it should for water.
sadly no, I have not personally tersted every vehicle so there may be an exception - but as far as I'm aware any vehicle that enters the water will explode
You can't tell me that a 500m deep Anti ship zone is not cool. . Sad that the water mechanics are so basic. Underwater gameplay, Storms and AA vehicles will add so much
yeah hopefully one day we'll see some improvements to how water behaves - even ar rivers it would be nice for basic thins like splish-splash sounds when you walk in it etc
Just epic content, love this stuff! I see throughout your videos, that no one ever attempts to use comms ship to ship to parley first to diffuse a situation. I have, in my entirely solo game playing, heard an alert maybe two times and glanced down to my MFD to see a unique helmeted face looking back at me. Neither time did the voice come through. What is your team’s experience with prox comms or ship to ship comms with random players that have distinctly altered an encounter? If so, could we see some content related to VoIP and FoIP interactions that aren’t simply blathering clowns without self-restraint?
Any critics of SC - just show them this video to silence them forever!!! . . . Well up to the part about water . . . But seriously, this gives but a glimpse of what is coming . . . CONGRATS ON CREATING THE BEST SC VID EVER!
it was just the stock loadout - I am mostly an FPS player so I never really spend much time with setting up ships (though i guess is should :D ) and the Scorpius was the only fighter i had available with the range to make it back to the fight quickly
this type of emergent gameplay is why i love star citizen. i just hate that its a buggy unfinished mess. with all the money they have you'd think they'd have a massive group of programmers and artists like never seen before.
missiles do way more damage when they hit - countermeasures are just really effective so most missiles do not reach their target. also bypassing shields is just a ballistic weapon thing - its consistent with ship weapons too
This is the kind of gameplay everyone hopes to have when they log on! Imagine describing this game to your kid self in the 90s 80s or early 2000s

You did a great job keeping that ship moving! and the fact you got away during that first attack, pretty much saved the whole night! :)
you hit me a few times up on the bridge btw. ggs
That was one of the wildest nights of Star Citizen I've ever been part of
Yeah it was a real fun battle and a lot of twists and turns along the way! :)
An engaging conflict, ending in a tie, and creating quite a ghost ship, complete with 'hidden' treasure. Yarr!
The last few minutes of this video just scream "star citizen's version of Moby dick" and Katie is Ishmael trying to get that great white whale, the C2 Hercules.

Great video! Our group shot down a duper in a M2 on his way to sell and we recovered 2 million worth of Oscean Hides. Was a great time.
a perfect heist story even with a crime doesn't pay message.

another awesome video i was a little jelly i had to work this night and only caught the end
yeah it was a real good one! glad you managed to catch a bit of it though darth :)
three words: A-MAY-ZING!!! i was gripped with suspense as to how the encounter was going to end. the stealth boarding team was top tier a brilliant strategy.
Most epic adventure to date! Amazing to see what a few simple new mechanics make possible!
Thanks Eavdmeer :) Definitely had a blast and the guys were were playing against were just so good :)
@@Citizen_Kate it's so great to see people take it on the chin and laugh instead of having a hissy fit in chat. They flew EVA for at least 15k to counter strike instead. Epic!
So they are going to have to make submersibles? To salvage wrecks underwater.
I hope the dev team watches this and gets ideas for underwater game mechanics in the future.
Great video. Space combat, ground FPS looting, and water adventures! True pirate play.
first?
ooh is this the legendary story i heard tale of..?
Haha yes this was that night :D and yes, looks like you're first Sony congrats :D
@@Citizen_Kate raptor factual strikes again!!
what a marvelous verse they are building for us to play in
emergent play at its best - new title: Aquanaut

it is beyond me why cargo haulers with that much cargo do not stash a box mission box somewhere on the ship with that box marker you can track your ship all over the PU and the pirates would never know you could even stash it in the middle of all the cargo grid
this is where the SRV would come in handy. I would guess its ship sized tractor beam could move the wreck.
So there is still a big treasure under the water? Sound like some sort of adventure someone can go to :D
I will have to check the footage and see if I looked at what shard it was at any point - if so, we could always go looking for it again if we can get back to that shard! :D
@@Citizen_Kate maybe you need a conga line of racoons with tractor beams along the seabed to retrieve it! Amazing content Kate and team!
The first mark stole Kate's Terrapin and rammed the C2, epic move.
...and then there are people that say that Space Skyrim will kill Star Citizen. Oh my sweet summer child, I will not miss those flamers in the verse :D

yeah this is so true - there are some things only multiplayer can provide! :D
Wow ... what a great fight. Your opponents were some crafty one's!!
This is the best Star Citizen Piracy video I have ever seen! Absolutely Amazing!
wow that is very high praise thank you very much! :)
That was exhilarating! This story had everything. Top shelf guys!! ❤

Please tell me what the reshade preset you use for night vision is. I've tried so many but nothing has looked like yours.
Hey there :) if you check out our recent PES video I linked to my reshade presets in a pinned comment :)
@@Citizen_Kate Thank you!! And I love your content!!
What an absolutely epic video! Amazing stuff! I couldn't believe how it went on and on! What a legendary fight.
I do love the sportpersonship shown in these videos. Give half cause you had fun or the other person did something unexpected
This has got to be your best video/adventure yet! Great story telling.
wow thank you very much and for watching too! :)
Amazing battles and good sportsmanship from both sides 😄
I find it quite odd though, that a dead ship seems to have buoyancy, even if extremely glitchy, but nothing else behaves as it should for water.
Yeah, water atm is less than ideal - so much to be done, from sound to physics - will hopefully be better one day
Piracy really has so much potential for fun gameplay when people engage with it. Amazing video!
Yeah, especially if it doesn't devolve into toddler-screaming about ganking in chat
Lol you needed some angelic music play when that cargo door opened :D
haha yes that would have been perfect! :D
How do you guys get the authentic radio squelch when communicating back and forth? Very cool!
we use a program called DCS-SRS for our radio comms - its a DCS application that can be used standalone and is very customizable :)
@@Citizen_Kate - That is fantastic!! Very immersive!! Keep up with the great content!

Do ground vehicles behave differently from ships? Like could you have drive a mule down there?
sadly no, I have not personally tersted every vehicle so there may be an exception - but as far as I'm aware any vehicle that enters the water will explode
@@Citizen_Kate bother, would've been kindof cool if you could have a train of Mules rescuing the cargo off the seafloor
Killer video. Keep it up. Makes me want to start exploring the deep. 🍻
Looking forward to see what new gameplay loop you all are going to discover in this unfinished game.
❤ Just one of those great nights in Star Citizen that occasionally happen and keep us all addicted!
yes it was such a fun night! :)
Still awesome video Kate and company. Even after all this time there is always something new to find out.
The OCEAN‘S ELEVEN heist apex music!! chef-kiss
the right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world
there was a moment when I was EVAing to the cat, you flew only a few meters over my head. I was solo btw

Great battle for Beryl
How did they found the C2 in mid space? Is there a Ship Marker or something like that?

cant u fly with a big ship into the boxes to pick most of them up, when they are staked like that
What an exciting story to have captured. Keep it up!

I thought there was a button to jettison cargo, ia it functional? Either way this made it way more action packed. Great video!
I can't wait until water mechanics are in the game. Most likely in 2025.
What do you guys use for radio comms?
If you were to soft-death their C2 they could not track it and then you could transfer the cargo safely? Is that how SC works?
Now people will demand salvage subs. Thankfully the name Titan is already taken……..Too soon?
Ooooo ive been waiting for this one!!!
haha we sure got rammed a lot on this day right? :D

how did u open the c2?
Why is Katie's hydration ALWAYS below 40%
haha you know, this isn't the first time that has been pointed out to me! :D I just tend to not fill it until it gets real low :P
Makes no sense a small arms gun can bypass a shield of a ship, while missiles from a ship does less
missiles do way more damage when they hit - countermeasures are just really effective so most missiles do not reach their target. also bypassing shields is just a ballistic weapon thing - its consistent with ship weapons too
nail biting video guys :D
Woooow amaizing video!!! 🎉❤
maybe OceanGate was looking for the C2....
Nice video keep up the great work
Love it!
for my opinion, using a ship as a torp because they are mad about get robbed, makes a person not to a good sportsman.. -> constellation
That was me flying it, and I actually was tabbed out for a bit not realizing how fast I was going. So that part was completely unintentional
@@cvancara45 you guys were awesome to fight against :) would do it again anytime!
You could have walked the cargo out of the water with tractor beams 🙄🤷♂️
this is true, maybe we should have tried to bring in more peoepl to get it done this way!
I think it was a few Kilometers away.
I'll be joining SC as soon as I get my studio project done and my low tear pc running.....cant wait 🥰
