Agree. It's only driving the retail prices higher and then Etsy is now an overpriced online shop no matter what you sell. But it is more unique and artistic than what you can find in the mainstream shops.
Thank you so much for continuing to reiterate the importance of "NOT COPYING" others work/designs!! I finally got a best seller and then started seeing a bunch of copy cats. They just took a screenshot of my design and put into AI to spit out something very very very similar (some even copied my SEO completely). Make it your own people!! Take the design and instead of a cat, do it in a bird. Instead of flowers, try it in mushrooms. Add other elements or seasonal changes, etc. Stop copying!! You will be 2-3 months behind and its not a great or sustainable business model.

i wanted to know if its totally legal to sell the phone cases on Etsy?. And how to avoid trademark or patent violation when wording descriptions on the listings? Do we put in a disclaimer of sorts to avoid legal lawsuits from these major cell phone manufacturers? I've seen a few Etsy Shops disclosing such disclaimers. I'm afraid to venture into the phones for that one reason only. Any advice highly appreciated..
okay, but could you do a physical phone case review of the printify cases in a video so we can see the quality of what we'd be potentially offering a customer?
Did this before. Just remember you have to front the money before your clients order is shipped. If you get 500 orders - it’s coming out of your pocket first. I did this for 4 yrs and it was a fun ride. Now i do digital print where I don’t have ship anything physical. This biz is good just make sure you have money to cough up 1st!
I am curious how many you have sold and if you have held the same price? Each case takes time to personalize, I think with personalized pics the retail should be more? If you sell a an existing print then fine but your time has to be worth more than $5 per case.
I'd like to upload my photos to the case, would you recommend increases the resolution or just the picture itself. These are pics I've taken with my cell phone. Thanks in advance for your advice/ also how would I sell other products with these pics too?
Great tutorial! Thank you! I was listing the Printify tough cases with my Etsy partner’s original art and my post-production design on Etsy since March, and recently Etsy deactivated my two phone cases sighting possible violation of Etsy policies. I have no idea which policy they think I violated. Any ideas for where to begin to address this? Thanks so much for any help!
if you are not a premium member in prinitfy or any of these pod then you are NOT going to compete that is the problem.. since sellers who are premium are the ones who will cut you off on prices
You are showing sites that are doing thousands of cases per month. Are you suggesting that we create a custom design for these many phone cases each month with all the attendant e-mailing back and forth of pet pix and requests? What do you suggest for a price point for such a case?
this would be considered under electronics right?! so i would have to stay in the same niche for a better algorithm. like my store would have to be all electronics or all just phone cases?? btw i love your content an you are the best on the subject. sorry for the petty question
hey , fair use policy with Apple is you have to word it as " Compatible with iPhone" instead of " iPhone 14 Case" , doing this will not cause any issues whatsoever ... personally i have seen some people's listings taken down by apple and samsung bots because this fair usage was not followed by anyone
I work in a grocery store and one of my favorite customers has a cat named Sarah lol.. which I think is so cute. I've always wanted a dog named Dave. Lol Thank you so much for this tutorial!, I have been thinking about delving into phone cases and this helps a lot. You have one of my favorite youtube channels. PS your dog is sooo adorabble. ❤
Papyrus is my favorite, LOL! Thank you for your tutorials, Heather! I appreciate your thought process and how you patiently go through each step. Your puppy is adorable!
I have watched dozens of these videos, and I still can't figure it out. Maybe I'm too stupid and I'm living paycheck to paycheck. I've pretty much given up.
You're probably just overwhelmed with wanting to do it just right. Understand that you're NOT going to do it just right in the beginning. Watching videos isn't the same as doing it. Start the shop. Post a product. Literally anything. Get experience with the software with just simple products like tote bags with simple phrases. Take it from the most basic to the more advanced. You can do this.
been waiting for this one, my current store sells phone cases and a few other things, but i've only been getting a few sales here and there so im glad this video has some more direction then what i was doing
Any advice on tags for phone cases? It seems to me that using "iPhone 13 phone case" or whatever model is too broad. Would it be better to use more descriptive words for that specific case like "custom pet case", "custom dog case", etc?
When writing SEO you still do want to use broad keywords and also lower competition/high search volume keywords such as a phrase like 'custom dog phone case'- this phrase is considered still medium to high competition but high SV which is great! The Etsy algorithm I've found likes to use a combination of keyword phrases so if you have 'custom dog case' and 'iphone 13' you could match with a customers search query that may be 'custom dog iphone 13 case'. Etsy has been known to 'mix & match' so at least you have parts of these phrases so at least you have the keywords, Etsy will start trying to find the most optimal combinations for your SEO written in your title if your product is selling well or getting traffic and favorites.
also do the Artboard print area sizes (width & height) apply to all the phones via printify or are they different for each phone i.e 15,14, pro, max ect?
This is a great question! The suggested artboard size is based on the maximum of all phones that's offered per your POD provider. In this example, the lenght and width is based on WOYC but if you are only selling one brand under one listing such as the Google Pixel or iPhone, then I'd recommend looking at the variants on the design editor in Printify. If you deselect iPhone and only select Google Pixel, you'll see the recommended print size to the left of the screen will change in the 'important product info' box. Hopefully this makes sense and helps!
I don't believe this music does. We have removed background music(unless for a funny bit or other reason) in our most recent videos as we've had a few comments. The only area that we currently have music is on the end 15 seconds besides that. Thanks for watching and the feedback! ❤

I will add this to my list for a future product sample video! Love the idea and thanks for watching! ❤
You can also order samples from the P-O-D platforms. Then you can check the quality of your designs/image quality.
No lol

That's something that no one talks about. What is the point then? You might as well order everything yourself and see where the business goes.
SUPER love this video!! Thank you for the demo and all the great information. And Chloe is adorable! 🙂
What a cute photo case!! Thank you for sharing this tutorial!❤
Thank you for blurring out the products, my shop had shown up in other youtuber videos (not phone case shop) and my shop has died

I'm wondering about the trademark as well.. Is it ok to put iphone in a listing??
Great video! Are we allowed to use “iPhone 13,14, Samsung etc” in the title?
Thanks for watching! ❤ I would use this for SEO so you can be seen in search queries for the 'iphone 13' or 'iphone 14' searches on Etsy.
@@itsheatherstudio thank you! I just get confused with using brand names! I thought it wasn’t allowed 🫠🫠🫠

I thought "iPhone" is trademarked and couldn't be used...? Or is it okay since it is for a product specific to an iPhone?
