    Nice idea, especially to build together with Kids, they'll love it!!
    People around here often just hang a old rim from a carwheel with a long screw on the wall. It's done in one minute and does the same job. Dosen't look nice, but it's behind the house, nobody normally sees it. otherwise the rim can be spraypainted too...

    That's a great idea. Way better looking than the old rusty steel one that I should get around to replacing. I'll paint mine to match the house trim.

    I've seen this Englishman, northern accent IIRC, can't find the video, he didn't screw on the circle cutting jig but just stuck the router in using that copying collar. And no lengthy dowel sticking out of the centre. That way, he didn't need to guide the router all the way round, changing his hold, but just carried out one swift back-and-forth motion, basically like a crankshaft. Swoosh-swoosh-done.

    That's a really useful project! Hose reels are a nightmare when they get all tangled up. With one of these, I imagine it doesn't matter.

    great project. I need 1 of those except the outside of my hose is concrete and aluminum siding. Really hard to attach. I just spent the morning installing an outside water spigot. Previous owners removed it long ago.

    Awesome project, thanks for sharing. In our area I would use a heavy duty wood preservative and maybe cedar or treated wood. Even at that, we would half to take indoors each fall. This is the best UA-cam site on internet. A+
