Been a huge fan of Huawei since their Mate 10 series of phones, although since their ban I've had to move on to Xiaomi. Great to hear that apps like GSpace still exist to provide some Google services to their newest phones. Great vid!
If Huawei wouldn't be blacklisted from GMS, they would trounce Apple and Samsung easily today. As someone who owns the Mate 40 Pro, Mate 20 X(4G) and Mate 9, i have to say that nothing comes close to Huawei phones. But the reality is more bitter than that, as even with Gspace(which sucks battery a LOT) you can't enjoy the phone without native GMS. *BTW there is one camera mode that few or no one talk about when it comes to Huawei phones from the Mate 40 Pro onwards, and that's the 50MP AI mode, it's a GAME CHANGER!
P30 Pro still is my favourite phone I've owned. I rely so heavily on Google apps on a daily basis I had to jump ship unfortunately. Oppo is my goto now as have great build, specs, fast charging.

I just bought nova 9 looks like p50. So far good in gaming, photos and video also fast charging. No problem if no Google I can still use Google apps via gspace and apkpure for other apps not on gallery.
I still have my Huawei Mate 20 I bought in 2018. The phone is still going strong. Hell, I'm still using the silicone case it came with. The only issue is that the adhesive using in gluing the backcover to the phone is coming apart due to several hard falls over the years. No big deal though. I can glue it back myself. I didn't know huawei phones were this durable. And what's even more amazing is how the battery still holds a good charge despite the fact that I've been gaming heavily on it daily since I got the phone. Sometimes I leave it charging over the night. Certainly will buy huawei again when I feel like upgrading
Same experience and have owned many samsung flagships as well and my wife with the latest note and the Huawei mate 20 X still holds up and has a great charge. The new EMUI 12 is going to extend the battery life even further. Can't get away from the 7.2in screen. Might buy another one from aliexpress since there is literally NO new phones of this size ignoring foldable phones.
I am a big fan of Huawei mobile phones. I have been updated from p9 to their mat20pro. Unfortunately, due to the US sanctions, I had to replace my mate20pro with an iphone13 last month. Currently, the mate20pro is still my backup phone. , looking forward to the day when Huawei returns.
Bought a nova 9 recently and might have to return it. Phone was great, but the biggest undeniable problem for me is the lack of support for Cellular bands in the US and compatibility w/ tmobile. Huge bummer
Still got my P40 Pro +, love it. It's addictive. Beautiful phone. Love the challenge of trying to live without Google. I'm sure you can tell I'm a Huawei fanboy.
As we migrated from Symbian OS to IOS to Android OS, we can for sure migrate to Harmony OS. We should stop our addiction to Google services & move to the next one.
I was a Huawei fan before. Like I really love their phones. But when google problem came, it was hard for me to use their new phone without any google. Don’t like installing it on my own too. Wish they get a license back to have google services.
If it weren’t for Huawei missing support from google I would have bought one of their phones. The quality is amazing and it performs like apples iPhones.
Mate 40 Pro. Bought it for the camera. Use a cheaper daily for GMS. But after loading GSpace, pretty happy with it overall. Only keepign the other (cheaper) phone so I can save wear and tear on it. Because... honestly... the cameras on Huaweis are still second to none.
My wife is using P30 Pro for 3 years now. I bought her a Samsung S22 Ultra a week ago. She didn't like it and asked me to return it, neither she doesn't want Iphone 13 pro max. Lack of Google services made me not to buy her new Huawei.. she said she will continue to use P30 pro for now.... by the way I'm from USA.
I had a mate 20 pro but last year I bought a samsung s21ultra the exynos 2100 version since I live in Sweden, I only could get the exynos 2100 version. The biggest reason why I went with samsung was the software, the google support and huawei not getting 5g.
How have you get Google apps installed on it? Not had a huawei in a while but i know the company opened their own app market and google apps were no longer available.
I will be upgrading my mate 40 pro in April to the Honor Magic 4 pro. Simple fact being 5g and the larger screen and the fact since honor phones still look almost identical or identical to Huawei devices even though they apparently separated. 5g is important to me due to the fact I live in London and 4g speeds are beyond ridiculous now. I have g on the other hand is great.
@@EhsanMusic Huawei is awesome, hopefully it will make a comeback eventually. My humble suggestion is to go with Xiaomi. Similar specs and features, great cameras on flagships.
Mate 20 Pro is the best phone Ive ever owned. Had it for 2 years, and don't want to switch. I've replaced the battery once, charging port twice, it's just the most amazing phone. I don't know what to get for an upgrade, nothing else compares really. The charging speed, the ir blaster, the screen, dual-sim, I have such high standards now because of it. Best camera phone of the year, a few years ago, but it still beats almost every phone. I'ts capable of doing astrophotography, I've taken pictures of the milky way with just my phone, it really is the perfect phone. I feel like we've reached very close to peak phone technology, right when this phone came out. Honestly, if something happens to my phone, I really would consider just getting the same thing. Some people would laugh at that, using a phone for 2 years, and then getting the same thing, but it's really that good. Mate 30 and mate 40 don't have Google services, making them basically useless. I have one complaint for the mate 20 Pro. Not sure how many people have dealt with this, but I was unable to get any updates on my phone for almost a year. I tried everything, literally everything to update the software, and the only workaround was I had to purchase a Chinese sim card, to update EMUI. The second I put it in my phone I got like 6 updates. Not a deal breaker, but it was pretty annoying. Seriously anyone that wants the best phone ever made, get the mate 20 Pro. There's no phone that compares, even in 2022.

I must say I got the P50 pro and the next day returned it. AS much as I am a Huawei fan. Gspace was a mission to install and even more of a mission to add GMS as a shortcut. Then with whatsapp...lord... infact any notifications for the gspace apps stop working after a few minutes until you enter the app again and then all your notifications comes rushing in. I really couldn't deal with that.
I was a big Huawei fan (phone & watch) but I dropped it to favour Samsung after the ban. I would be ready to go back to it if the workaround is easy enough and good. It will always depend on the model though.
For most users they are unusable ... Yes, we have seen cloning, sideloading, Gapps, MicroG, etc etc. But NONE have produces a 100% trouble free experience. It worked for some some time and after updates it stoped working and people had to stop using certain apps and hunt for solutions. I can see people using them in Asia where they don't rely on Google anyway, but in the USA, South America, and the EU it's kinda pointless, especially at the high prices and no 5G. It's a shame really as Huawei would have given Samsung a fair amount of competition. Right now, there is NO competition from Huawei and Xiaomi benefitted from it.
Really just sucks. I have multiple Kindle Fires, and installed play store and Google play services and framework. They work just fine, just like having a actual android tablet. I'm really surprised that the workarounds don't work anymore for Huawei...
@@crazierthorn10 Because Huawei is banned. So whenever a workaround is found Google will need to address it with their next updates. If they didn't they would be accomodating Huawei in some way. So yes, they do work sometimes only to stop working after time. Then people look for workarounds and the cycle restarts. Most people don't want an extra hobby or second job to keep track of what works and what not. They just want a working device now, and at any given moment in the future.
I had the P30 Pro and was very happy with it - until the last update when stuff started behaving strangely with some apps. Frankly I'm not interested in finding workarounds to get the apps I use/need/want. I just want a phone that does what I want without hassle. So I upgraded 2 weeks ago to an OPPO Find x5 Pro. And it does exactly what I want & much better than the equivalent Samsung or IPhone.
They did closed phones just like apple and made themselves obsolet, just imagine you could flash a custom ROM and forget about the Gapps drama. Also the mid-low range phones were pure garbage I had a Huawei Y6 and was one of the worst phones I ever used.
I'm very happy with my Huawei Mate 20 Lite. I have been using it for the past 3.4 years. It was a good choice regarding the price and the specifications of the phone. I would buy Huawei again when I need a new one. The only thing that would probably stop me is the absence of the Google packet (gmail, maps etc.). Huawei makes good phones though!
they really do make good devices, I'm using the P10 Lite still which I got back in 2017 or so and it's still kicking really well. Not in the greatest spot with security updates since that stopped years ago and storage space is too small for apps and updates these days. The sanction really is a bummer, because I would also continue business if not for that loss..
All of us Mate 20X users are getting real nervous. there is no replacement for it. there are no mainstream 7.2 in screen phones available. the closest things are fold phones but I don't want a folding phone. :(

@@VLX1589 Nay. There are comparison videos online showing clearly that the trimming of new Honor is clearly inferior to that of HUAWEI, even with same hardwares. So Honor doesn't have 'all the best from HUAWEI', not at all.
@@kittyflier8338 True, I agree with you, doesn't have all the best, but then again some people will find 2nd to best in Honor, with a decent price tag as well. Still having a p20 lite for almost 4 years now and works almost just fine ), I had 2 more Huawei phones before and probably never going to change from Huawei ever ...
Not everything is working well in GSpace. And if there is an interaction between two apps, the gspace cloned app will be ignored at the end and the normal app will be opened - so a lot of things will not work well. The reason is very simple: a lot of apps require Google Services Framework (GSF) for catching and forwarding private data to Google analytics services. And for that, they will be payed some cents on top by Google. So Android HW with-out Google services is perfect for photos, but everything will be a mess.
I bought a Huawei Mate 20 Pro two or three years ago, I bought it used and it was the best decision I ever made, as far as phones are concerned. I smashed the screen the other day (drunken shenanigans), and I'm seriously considering just getting another one from the used marked. I love that phone, it does everything that I want it to do.
Huawei is user friendly and they use very solid hardware. Harmony is rising very quickly and we will see on many devices ( I believe with RISC-V architecture will help a lot )
Why is the US using snapdragon on every phone I'm actually curious because my phone takes blurry pictures all the time I have to use a camera app to enhance my pictures and videos at night my main camera won't let me take pictures at night or 8k videos kinda feels like it's not worth the effort for me at all I Have to hold the camera still which is kinda hard because I move around a lot when I'm outside walking
Back in 2010, I had an iPhone 4 with 32GB, and in 2014, lost it after it fell in to a cup of tea. I replaced it with a (Telstra locked) Huawei Ascend P2, but soon filled up the internal memory of 4GB, but was most impressed with the picture quality of photos, and in darkness, took a few inside the 'Minsk', located in Shenzhen, China at the time. I then was converted to the Huawei brand, and later purchased a nova 3i, which substantially increased internal memory of 128GB, but once again, ended up landing it face-down on concrete, smashing the screen. I asked the retailer who upsold me extended warranty, but wanted about half the total value (of the phone) to fix it. Soon after, another retailer offered a new nova 3i for A$150.00 less, so purchased it.. I kept the 'smashed' screen phone, and ordered a 'touch screen digitizer' replacement, and in about 1 month, I had the new screen. About 2 years later, I got to work, and fixed it, and found the hardest part of the job was getting rid of the sinters of the old glass glued to the frame. I now have 2 Huawei nova 3i's, and for my applications, more than adequate, and from many reports (repair shops) they are very reliable...
I had to jump ship and went Samsung s22 Ultra, I still use my Mate 40 pro as a camera and some few day to day things. GSpace and other alternatives just aren't that good as the real thing honestly, payments via a lot of those apps we miss on huawei cannot be trusted in GSpace. I need GMS support for work seeing that we integrate a lot into LMS's.
I recently bought the Xiaomi 12 Pro, but just cant get myself to switch, i love my HUAWEI HONOR 20 Pro to much, the way it feels in my hand, the system software like the photo gallery app, the customization options, and the UI customization options, for example allowing you to create your own theme if you know how to work with .HWT files, the speed, the battery performance, the camera, its all just too good to leave behind

I had a mate 20 pro but last year I bought a samsung s21ultra the exynos 2100 version since I live in Sweden, I only could get the exynos 2100 version.

Huawei not getting 5G while they're leaders in that field sounds weird 😐
How have you get Google apps installed on it? Not had a huawei in a while but i know the company opened their own app market and google apps were no longer available.
I will be upgrading my mate 40 pro in April to the Honor Magic 4 pro. Simple fact being 5g and the larger screen and the fact since honor phones still look almost identical or identical to Huawei devices even though they apparently separated.

2 years is a long time. 0-75% in 30 min, must be hard on the battery.
Still using Mate 20 X and the camera performance is one of the best in 2022 :)
Technically the Huawei p50 was launched before the 8 gen 1
I must say I got the P50 pro and the next day returned it. AS much as I am a Huawei fan. Gspace was a mission to install and even more of a mission to add GMS as a shortcut. Then with whatsapp...lord... infact any notifications for the gspace apps stop working after a few minutes until you enter the app again and then all your notifications comes rushing in. I really couldn't deal with that.
I was a big Huawei fan (phone & watch) but I dropped it to favour Samsung after the ban. I would be ready to go back to it if the workaround is easy enough and good. It will always depend on the model though.
I've heard there's an issue with Android Auto on the new Hauwei phones without Google services, is there a work around for this?
Agree 100%
I still have the Huawei Mate 20 X, have it for 3 years now and it still runs smoothly.

Why can Huawei work with Microsoft but not Google?
...how can a person live without google, and why did this happen?

Had two. They're fine until they go wrong and then they won't fix them and the warranty is never honoured. Awful company.
My eyes can't stop looking at that count down
I had to jump ship and went Samsung s22 Ultra, I still use my Mate 40 pro as a camera and some few day to day things. GSpace and other alternatives just aren't that good as the real thing honestly, payments via a lot of those apps we miss on huawei cannot be trusted in GSpace.
