This actually started out as a pilot from Grundy's American arm, taped for CBS in 1986; another pilot w/ celebrities was taped in 89, but neither effort got off the ground. But grundy wasn't gonna let a good format go to waste, so he exported it.
I wish this show had lasted. I watched it for the only season but was too young to get the answers. I would get a lot of them now. I did get morning has broken when it was showed live though (might have been on twice).
Check the song listing under "South Pacific"; it's listed as "...Outa My Hair". I know it's grammatically incorrect, but that's how it was spelled in the song listing.
Just a little trivia, the winners of that episode above survived 4 nights but eventually got beaten on their final night by a team featured Les, a middle-aged man and two young women, Debbie and Sally. Also, Les, Debbie and Sally might have became the only team in the history of "Australian" Keynotes to win the major prize. The reason I know this information is because someone did upload like 15 episodes of Aussie Keynotes on UA-cam, but unfortunately, those clips were removed due to copyright. How sad!
And I'll never forget that moment when they won the trip to Vanuatu-- to go from hearing the sweet baritone of Les' voice to hearing the two women let out high-pitched screaming. Funny how it works out, doesn't it? :D
It was. No wonder It was my favorite episode. What are the odds for a man like Les to be partnered with two young gorgeous women? LOL I have tracked down the owner of those Keynotes clips. he/she said that he/she will upload those clips again
Hey, Brendan, you ever seen the UK version with Alistair Divall? There's a few episodes of that on UA-cam-- two of which are on the host's own YT account, by the way.
And folks you know this didn't work out because Richard Wilkins had to go back to today Where he belongs this show was ok but it met its untimely cacelllation
Please Nine repeats Keynotes but with either 1996 Grundy logo (with A Pearson Television Company byline), 1997-2006 Grundy logo, or FremantleMedia Australia logo.
The scoring in the main game is absolutely asinine. Might as well be best of three rounds; the first round is completely pointless, & you can possibly lose the game even after winning the first two rounds. The game itself is just fine, but a $300-$600-$1200 scoring format is completely absurd.
Don't all gameshows do that to avoid having a short episode? Also the timeout buzzer sounds a lot like the one from Sale of the Century (recorded in the same studio).
But if you win 2 games, why the hell do you lose on the third game and lose the game in general. That's why the first two game should be worth the same, and every game after the first two should be double the winning of the earlier games to make it exciting! For example, the US version of Hollywood Squares had their first game as this: $250 (Marshall version) $500 (Davidson version) and $1,000 (Bergeron version) and the 3rd round and beyond was double of the round before the preceding one. But then again, we TAX all winnings.
Joey Lamontagne Agreed, points from rounds 1 and 2 should equal points from round 3, in which case a tie is possible, but could be settled with a quick sudden death round.
I loved watching this show back in the early 1990s. I was thrilled when they repeated the episodes in the early 2000s. It was great to see it again.

who's still watching in 2024?
Li'l old me!
Thirteen in 1992.
Gettin' on a bit.
A revamped version of this show for the 21st century would actually be really good.
I totally agree! I'm a musician myself and I think it would be a great revamp especially for today's generation of youngsters.
I grew up watching this show, and I agree with bringing it back. 🎶
This show is like an extended version of Name That Tune's "Bid-A-Note" and "Golden Medley" rounds.
I wish this show had lasted. I watched it for the only season but was too young to get the answers. I would get a lot of them now. I did get morning has broken when it was showed live though (might have been on twice).
Cool, you have the commercials intact. I seek out these episodes.
I remember this was shown like around 3am back in 2003. 90s had the best tv game shows especially on channel 9
Looks like it uses exactly the same computer system as the UK version, as Chris Goss (oddly misspelled Chriss Goss here) is credited on both versions.
Go! Should repeat these sort of gameshows, plus sale and price is right (9 version) reruns, loyal people would probably watch
I bet Martin, Theresa and Mark will be so happy when they watch this clip. Theresa Mark and Martin were the team that Tina and the men beat.

Bon anniversaire Richard Wilkins!!!
Final question at 27:57 was wrong. She said "head" not "hair". How did they let that slip pass during the filming.
yes I have noticed that as well!
is anybody got mtv episodes with richard wilkins? i am looking for them

i love this channel
I was surprised nobody knew "Ben".
loved this
fucking brand power i remember that god damn tune and those ads that fucking tune ugh
I think the contestants (around 10:54) thought the song was 'when I'm 64" by the Beatles! Lol
And folks you know this didn't work out because Richard Wilkins had to go back to today Where he belongs this show was ok but it met its untimely cacelllation
gameshowaus2 do you have 1996-97 episode of aussie Blankety Blanks hosted by Shane Bourne and airing on Channel Nine?
Are there any more episodes?
what ahow was that a promo for at the end?
2003 Nine endtag but with 1992 Grundy logo.... Please repeat Keynotes but with 2015 Nine endtag & 1996/1997-2006 Grundy logo.
The only reason this rare occurrence happened was because Nine was rerunning it.

FremantleMedia who bought Grundy would hold the Sale episodes. Suggested Go! Air these but no luck on their part.
Strictly speaking she got the final answer wrong - she said "gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Head" when Head should have been Hair.
Yeah, I have.
' out of ' not 'outta' .
gameshowaus2 upload episode of Aussie Hot Streak please....
as a matter of fact, that's what i thought
3:52 Bob Katter's hat.
Survivor
Like a Rhinestone Cowpoke lol
1992
*Sniff*
not bad

+MrChevypower That buzzer was used on Aussie TPIR, too. As well as the first few episodes of Aussie Singing Bee.
I thought that very same thing, The first two rounds are completely irrelvant.
