Ryno gets a lot of credit for his teaching because he was able to critique his flaws....the biggest thing that stops all learning is out giant humongous forking EGOS we know it all...an wouldnt admit to ourselves most of all we dont know it all....i figure out starts on my own.....but there was one really cool jump on my home track called the plunge....it was a big plateaou jump like big like in close encounters of the third kind...an i so much wanted to clear it an start styling over it...i cleared it but i fell over lightly an was si dumfounded as to why....it sent me on a mission to improve dont weight till u crash easy or hard learn now an be smart all this u tube tips an touturials was not around for us in 1988....i had good jumping skills but no landing skills like all my racer friends who asked me to stop road racing an race mx instead....as soon as i got a video from the proffessor an learned an applied what he showed me my skill shot right by everyone in supercross my skill of jumping an landing shot by most of the AMA SX PROS an in shock i couldnt believe it but in 91. 92 93 no one had a clue about supercross except for one guy...then later may be 4 guys....it was not a good percentage but it was what it was..sadly each year it got better but not all...when u always clear a jump u dont learn anything....

Thanks for your explanations. I have learnt something new today. I never knew why all or most of the start ups in supercross and MX are left turns... and now you have just made it clear to me.... Thanks a million!!

I see the most disheartening thing watching starts...the start is all about those first 30 feet an then clean shifts..i see people try to force stuff ifcu have daylight an u made a good jump off the gate ur options are more....an if u didnt depending on daylight one of the things i know i did well an i stepped it up was using my site an my periphreial attention.. .something that a big help going into a turn...be strong but look for day light if it aint there dont try an make it too many people now be patient...when u get the good jump u get more options be patient dont force what is not available....im great off the line an really hustle the middle ofcthe start an can beat anyone thru turn one...but if u get shut out u cant make daylight be patient an work up in the race may be turn 2 or 3 u have the whole outside of a turn to ur self....go then...people make the mistake they shoot down to the inside kill their speed an leave the middle or outside open speed is more inportant whats next a long straight....right
