The "My way" lore is so true. Someone got shot singing that song. And i noticed your face changed. Good thing you followed up with "bebot", that threw em off. Congrats on the win.😊 Also Jared John would've worked too.
Jared because you speak the Tagalog language was the key you learn so much about the Filipino culture and you were able to answer, when you went to the Philippines and spoke with the Pinoys also helped you a lot. Congrats, Jared!!
I'm also surprised no one else knew about the "tabi-tabi po" and duwende/Nuno sa punso. To be honest though, it's been quite a while since I last heard that "superstition" and it was a pleasant surprise you brought it up! I guess most Filipinos have already forgotten about it.
The biggest giveaway was naming yourself just "John" because no one ever only has John as their first name. It's always followed with a second first name like John Mark, John Lloyd, John Dale, John Carlo etc. Jared is also a widely used Filipino name, which could be a standalone name compared to John which is always paired with something else.
@@sprikitik9719Yeah sure there are Johns, but I'm just saying that John paired with a second first name is MUCH more common in the Philippines than just John.
@@alice_agogo It's not as common as John, but it's definitely a name used here. Even in Jared's Philippine trip series, you'd see that he met a kid named Jared.
Very good strategy for not sticking out like a sore thumb right away. Generally, Filipinos are very passive and just love being in the background until people discover that they can sing, dance etc. Like what they say, “sa una lang magpapabugbog ang mga bida.”
Great video & your winning at being the mole in the group. I was surprised that little Tagalog was spoken. I would have figured the group members would "test" you by listening to your Tagalog to single you out. Also, I was very surprised that "John" (the Canadian) didn't know about the song "My Way" & how it's not to be sung at karaoke. I remember hearing that from several people from the Philippines but I'm not really sure if that restriction is true or not. The rest in the group seemed to know about it but "John" did not.
Lol Jahred you are more Filipino than these dudes. You had visited the Phillippunes for a month, you speak and converse with tagalog language on many ordinary Filipinos especially in the streets, you eat the foods especially the simple one that makes you differ from these Filipino kids living abroad and yet their feets are floating in the ground.

The part where you mentioned about the duende and peeing and saying, "Tabi-tabi po!" is so legit! I'm surprised the "real" Filipinos in your group didn't know about it.
This is so amazing, Jared! I never thought someone I’ve known in real life would end up on Jubilee, but you’re the perfect guy for it and I’m honestly so proud of you, man!! Also I laughed so hard when you chose the name “John” since I knew exactly what you meant there 😂
