This was a joy to watch and hear. These people had a blast doing this, and it shows. The dancers were perfectly in character, perfectly choreographed, and Aubrey tore this one up. But we ALWAYS end up coming back to this video not only because we love this version of it... but because EVERYONE in the video looks like they're having SOOOO Much Fun! Every single time PMJ blows me away. The brilliant arrangements by Scott Bradlee are amazing in their own right, but in the end it's all in the delivery. And PMJ never fails there either. The talent they put together to sing the songs are just mindblowing. Each and everyone of the artists (singers, musicians, dancers) are all top notch. They're great singers/musicians/dancers, but also have a great feeling for the act itself. It's not only very pleasing to the ear, but also to the eye. It's not hard putting a nice looking singer in the video and get a lot of attention, but when he or she can sing really, really good as well, it's jackpot. I watch this channel very often, and I'm never disappointed. This arrangement is one of the more creative ones and very well executed. It's right up there with 'Sweet child of mine' with Miche Braden. Great interpretation!

Roy you can make comparisons with the most famous world stars singing real live and you will find out, nothing is really perfect like a studio recording. So regarding the degree of difficulty IMHO this song of Aubrey is really great!

I read a comment on a PMJ video from a while back where someone was saying that PMJ had lost their identity since Robyn stopped being their default singer and that she was best for the majority of their songs. I couldn't disagree more. Having a range of incredible singers with totally different styles and voices has allowed them to put out an amazingly diverse repertoire of covers. Robyn has a great voice but I love the incredible diversity their songs have now.
My wife and I saw the Red Bank show last week. It was every bit as great as we had hoped. It was a great lineup, and we were particularly thrilled to see Aubrey. You guys are saving music! By the way, your cross-generational appeal is undeniable. As I type this, my 3 year old is dancing behind me. She is a big, big fan - except that she calls you guys, "Postmodern Juicebox".
The soundman helper played this while my group was setting up for sound check. I couldn't take it out of my brain. It took a while for me to locate it. Now I've only played like 1,000 times ! Due credit to the dancers, especially to the redhead on the left (she's havin a blast!) but really, the star is Aubrey. Her vocals are astounding! And not overdone at all! A comment below mentions whether or not RHCP would bless this... well, who cares, Aubrey created a different song!
Fabulous choreography & dancing, great fun with the flute and the rest of the arrangement, and the style says "Austin Powers" but Quincy Jones was the originator of "Soul Bossa", and you don't get much better than "Q" (Except here!) Still, I think Aubrey just kills it with her vocals, AND her kick-ass, not-easy-to-do trombone playing, and that final smile melts me every time.

Love Audrey! Her vocals are unbelievable. And while Natalie Rose White (the blonde) was the choreographer, the redhead (who I assume is Taylor Jayne) REALLY gets into it. Her charm and devotion to the routine, including all the great Fosse hand gestures, is pure gold. I hope she is represented more in Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox videos.
you can tell he gets her to sing the songs the are vocally very challenging. The other singers are all very talented, but she has such control over her voice, and a great hearing for hard intervals!

Love Audrey! Her vocals are unbelievable. And while Natalie Rose White (the blonde) was the choreographer, the redhead (who I assume is Taylor Jayne) REALLY gets into it. Her charm and devotion to the routine, including all the great Fosse hand gestures, is pure gold. I hope she is represented more in Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox videos.

you can tell he gets her to sing the songs the are vocally very challenging. The other singers are all very talented, but she has such control over her voice, and a great hearing for hard intervals!
