I met Mary in 1966, it's still the great memory of my childhood. I was with my mom at LAX waiting for my dad's plane to land. Mary sat down alongside us, and she was as gracious and beautiful as you can imagine.
I met Mary several times during her solo career days and after the PPM Reunion . She was always gracious with her time and so interested in what you had to say.
Such great memories. Part of my youth. I didn’t even own a record player. My folks gave me no money for records. But I heard them on the radio. I learned to strum and sing two of their songs. They were almost as rare as The Beatles. Will never be replaced. Very special.
I always liked Bob Dylan. When he's sung by Peter, Paul and Mary. They made many songs digestible and much more pleasant to listen to lol. Thanks for your interpretation and beautiful voices, Peter, Paul and Mary. Important words needed their voices to spread them to the masses
Wow! I was 14 when this originally aired but I love PP & M. Great to see this flashback. I have been a watcher of Sunday Morning since I was 15 or so tho.
I listened to Folk Music but never knew it was Folk. It just sounded good. I sung their songs years later, like today. I thought they wrote the songs later to find others had wrote them. Around the house sometimes I would be singing about the dragon then I would laugh. Why? Because I thought of me as a kid in the 60s.😊. 4:00 ❤. Great blend of voices. If I may, ask is this commentator still with us? Thank you
I love Peter Paul and Mary music 🎶 my mom and dad listen to them as I was growing up in the 80s as a kid, today I'm 48 will be 49 in May this year. My mom had her records collection with 2 lp album. Puff the magic Dragon 🐉 was my favorite of theirs. It's comes from a children's story. If I had a 🔨 hammer was there best song. Thanks for sharing this. Rest in peace 🕊️ ✌️🤓 Peter. In 1984 I was 8.
@alonzomourning33 The Everly Brothers have always been known as the gold standard of harmonizing. They're way better. The Eagles were better. Boyz II Men, The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, The Osmonds Brothers, Huey Lewis and his band, Dion & The Belmonts, etc... The list goes on. PP&M aren't even in the top 50.
Even if you are a 1990s millennial, Peter Paul & Mary have touched you. Likely, you at some point heard "Don't Laugh at Me" in elementary school as an anti-bullying message.
I was (and still am) a fan of theirs right from the beginning since I arrived at this country from the Dominican Republic in 1966. They were (and still are) a fantastic trio. I have several early vinyl recordings of theirs. I still have Mary's 45 rpm John Denver beautiful ballad "Follow me" she recorded solo. She 'has' such a beautiful, haunting voice. I also believe that even though they first recorded "If I Had a Hammer" and "Lemon Tree", Trini López had a greater hit with both songs than they did. Rest in peace Peter Yarrow.
I saw their 1978 reunion concert and then 3 other times as well. The group still evokes strong emotions and memories of the '60's ... particularly in their emphasis on human rights which finds application world wide. They were the voice of an era which resonates with the challenges of the present. The still have over a million "listens" per month on Spotify, so their effect on a troubled world is not yet silent.
Mary Travers and Peter Yarrow are gone now and the only one is left of Peter, Paul ,and Mary is Paul himself and he doesn't do much anymore but I think he's in his 80's today
What gets me everytime is all the children in the audience. People forget how enchanting they were to kids, particularly us millennials. They LOVED kids more than anything ! And we loved them back for it !

Another part of my youth passes into history, at least they have left behind the music that evokes so many memories, RIP Peter Yarrow.
One of the greatest Folk groups of all time!❤😊 And this piece on them by Charles Kerault is an interesting piece of history!
They were the best. Still are. I wouldn’t be what l am without them.❤
As a child of the 60s/70s, I grew up listening to them. Such beautiful harmony and messages of peace. We could sure use that today.
❤ RIP. What a beautiful legacy.
I’m 73 years old. Never a fan of theirs early on but in my older days oh my gosh weren’t they awesome awesome awesome.😊❤❤❤

It is great that CBS finds and publishes these videos for fans that were not around when they were in their prime.

Their Dylan renditions had to have helped Dylan’s career….Albert Grossman was a genius.

Remember seeing Peter Paul and Mary p when I was 10 or 11 with my sister and brother at the Hershey stadium in Hershey PA. Been a fan ever since
And then there was one…. and our hearts will forever remain amongst these beautiful flowers.

They remain a Treasure in my Gift of Timing, grateful for their music as a Boomer then, now, forever 🐉 💛
They were the voice of my generation. We Three tried to imitate them. RIP Mary and Peter. They are forever fondly remembered.

Yes, we need them now more than ever! Long live their legacy. ❤
The best harmonies ever. No one has ever come close!❤️❤️❤️
Please, I can name a lot better harmonies.
Okay, let's hear you sing then, Mr. Big Stuff !

Seals & Croft they had better harmonies.
Funny, I can still sing every song. Today, I don't know what the songs????
Peter and Paul were so good, Mary was the true star.
"Take your place on the Great Mandella."
What music! 💕🎸🎤🎊
I've always loved them .
RIP to Mary and Peter.
Just realized how here voice sounds so much like Carly Simon … my gosh!
Even if you are a 1990s millennial, Peter Paul & Mary have touched you. Likely, you at some point heard "Don't Laugh at Me" in elementary school as an anti-bullying message.
That would be me . Read my post. They touched me beyond Don't Laugh At Me . That was the icing on the cake.
They harmonized beautifully.

LEGENDS, ALL of them!!! xoxoxoxo

My favorite hit of theirs was "Leaving On A Jet Plane" (1969)😊
Travel well, Peter …

Lemon tree very pretty and the flower's smell is sweet but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat
My favorite of theirs❤
Mary wouldn’t perform Lemon Tree in the later years because of the line about not trusting love.
What gets me everytime is all the children in the audience. People forget how enchanting they were to kids, particularly us millennials. They LOVED kids more than anything ! And we loved them back for it !
Albert Grossman felt she was the right type.
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind Embers and no water
I only learned about this guy through his criminal conviction.
Too much hair tossing
So I gather you’re not into Rock or Heavy Metal…..or pretty much any type of music. They all shake their heads/hair, starting with the Beatles.
