Great video! Very interesting park! That one coaster reminded me of Superman at Magic Mountain 🏔️. I really enjoyed watching this! I hope you get to go to some great new parks this upcoming year!
My theory is that the most successful theme parks are ones that immediately create a tie or kinship to the location. That they become local culture. Maybe even the whole country, which is what made Disneyland stand out. It wasn't just the elaborate theming. It's that they established Disneyland as immediately, quintessentially Americana. If Disneyland had been hypothetically flooded in 1957, there would have been a public outcry to rebuild. So you get a park like this one in the video that has decent rides, but it's not part of the community. There's no local culture attached. It's some guy's vanity project, and when the inevitable happens, be ecological or economical, one or both of which is CERTAIN to happen over the lifespan of the park, there's no mandate to rebuild. I'm not from New Orleans, but I don't think the Six Flags New Orleans was a big part of that local culture. It opened in 2000, in a city famous for parties and music, but not THAT kind of tourism. People were already going there, and not to ride rides, so nothing was lost that affected the overall tourism. Thus, no mandate to rebuild. In short: theme parks make awful vanity projects. If it was so easy, so many wouldn't fail in their first decade, or even half decade.
Very interesting comment and I agree! It's also about connecting to the guest and bringing new experiences. To your point, I don't think this park brought much to the table other than again, some dude's dream. But props to him for trying! I hope to build a park one day...
I have ridden Slalom once when I was like 5th grade or something. It was the best experience cause this was the one and only launch coasters in thailand. So glad I could witnessed it 😭😭😭
As a Thai. i must admit we are not good at making amument park. Aside of the design, many of Thai rather enjoying in cool and reflesh in department store or waterpark instead of waiting on the line for coaster in the middle of summer.
@@NationalCoasters Our culture are growing around relaxing and chill after work than seeking adrenaline. Don't be mistake, I enjoying roller coaster but I prefer to go to Siam Park or Dream World in late December (where the weather is cooling) than in the middle of April (whent the was peak of temperature and high traffic due to water festival).
Thanks for watching National Coasters! 🎢
