Walter Stricklander is such a unique and complex character in animation. What the show failed to clarify was that he didn't choose to be an antagonist. Changelings were just pawns, slaves for Gunmar to bully around. As much as I love DreamWorks, they made a huge mistake with his arc: Instead of making a heel-face turn against Jim, make him plead for the boy to give up his responsibility as the Trollhunter. Only when all options fail, then make them foils of each other, similar to Moses and Ramses from The Prince of Egypt. - When reality finally catches up to them, and they realize they've always needed each other (as father and son), will they reconcile and bring down the bad guys together, as one. And also; let him have his human form back.
Everybody, even Jim,hate on Strickler so much... Yet he had no choice. Every thing he's done for the Order pre - canon,he had to do,or else be disposed of. If he hadn't done that,Jim would never have gotten the last stone,or his Eclipse armor. Therefore,he would not have made it into the Darklands and saved Claire's brother. Strickler was what a cult had made him,and cult members, especially those who grew up in a cult, are not normal . ...And yes,he should have his human form back ( I'm just not sure how he's getting it , maybe with the transduction device of the Akiridions?)

I absolutely love Strickler. The first time I watched Trollhunters I knew I’d love him. He’s a complicated character, who develops and grows... Especially when he was changed by his love for Barbara. Thanks for creating this!
Stricklander is my favorite character and really loved the complex relationship that he has with Jim. His actions was never to truly hurt him, and Barbara.
Strickler is my favourite character, bar non. Intelligent, cunning and brutal, much like the great leaders he teaches about. And finally opening up to affection, something his race doesn't often experience.
Its funny, he's like 'i am going to seduce my enemy's mother to further my plan' then falls in love with her and realizes 'good morgana! this kid needs a parental figure'.
Strickler is my favourite character in this series and Strickler and Barbara, my favourite couple. Not just that he is so well made, but also because of the voice actor, Johanthan Hyde, who does absolutely awesome job here. And he is also my favourite actor. :D And I also like more of Stricklers trollform than human form. I kind of like the wings. :)
Indeed, I do! I binged "Trollhunters", "3Below", and "Wizards" in the last month! It is exactly what I needed at this time! Wonderful shows! Fun, colorful, and with a lot of good messages!
The moment with Stricklander holding the edge of the sword is from the 42nd "Trollhunters" episode "Bad Coffee" where a bunch of people get influenced by a substance called gravesand.
Del Toro: Aww... fans love him...
Also Del Toro: LET'S KILL HIM

Your video really made me rethink my outlook on Strickland & I realize he is actually a really compelling character
I'm happy my video did that for you, my friend.
