I have to say, although the helios is an apparent upgrade (don’t know for sure as i haven’t used either blasters), i like the look of the apollo and it’s kit soooooo much more. The helios, especially with the pump kit, just looks to bulky to me. Either way, great vid! Keep up the good work!
blastaway.eu I'd have to get the kit to know for sure... I think the pump action form factor would be more comfortable, but the pump trying to auto-return would take getting used to... Though, if you could rig the Helios to be slam-fire the auto return could possibly be useful.
Also the pump kit for the nerf rival Apollo has 3 colors to choose from Red, Black, and Orange and worker has a website to direct shop with them.. www.
@blastaway.eu Thanks for the video. Yes really the helios pump kit really noisy, people complaint when I primed it in office. Hahaha... Have you found any way to reduce the squeky?
wet sand it with wet/dry sandpaper wrapped around a flat surface like you would on any other PLA print. go up in grits from about 80-120 to about 360 and you should be fine
Thanks for this one! Aesthetically, I think the Apollo kit looks better as well. The shoulder stock attachment makes it for me. On the Helios kit, there’s something strange looking about that too rail being two pieces instead of just one covering the original sight.
I have a Helios and a Apollo I’ve custom painted my Apollo and I’m getting the Apollo pump kit, the Helios pump kit looks terrible but the gun itself is amazing. By the way great video
Don't lap in your best clothes, it is an abrasive grease. :p You do not need to use so much lapping compound that it squirts out. (It may need to be reapplied a few times during the lapping process.) After the lapping is done you would clean out the lapping compound and replace it with an appropriate lubricant. Lapping this way is like sanding both parts at the same time, except they are hard to sand out of shape. The 3D printed parts are what need smoothing out. :] (That sound is so horrible it can be felt.) I don't know what "nit" or "^^" means in this context.
Thanks for going out of your way and giving my comment a ❤! I've had a bad day and you just made it better! Thanks man I really appreciate it! By the way, do you have any modding tips for me? I have modded for a few months and I'm decent I guess. I'm just a kid though so I can't get too expensive. My best mods are, my nitefinder that hits about 100 fps, helios that hits about 180, desolator that hits about 130ish and those are my top mods. I have more but they aren't quite as good. A lot of your videos have helped me and inspired me also! Thanks man and keep up the great content!!!! From your #1 fan Noah,
I guess my biggest problem with these kits is the cost. Adding a $60 (not including p&p) upgrade kit to a $20 blaster seems expensive. I prefer a $15 stock attachment from Out-of-Darts for my Artemis, and have a 33 rounds initial capacity and no annoying friction noise. Alternately when the new Artemis clone comes out that'll have a 60 round (or is it 70?) capacity, for $70 msrp (so it'll be less at WalMart).
I guess that makes the upgrade kit more reasonable. I got my Helios for $28 USD when they first came out. The Helios is the only blaster I've managed to upgrade with a full k26 spring so far, and it's pretty accurate out to 80 feet now, so I'd love a better pumping mechanism, but I don't think I could stand that zzzzzp-zzzp noise from this particular kit.
well, all these new kits are kinda expensive... i guess most people would only get it for their favorite blaster. thanx for watching and leaving this comment ^^
i would rather spend that extra few dollars on an authentic magazine rather than waste my time in battle unjamming the ball thats stuck cos of the stupid knock off magazine
you can sell them with ear defenders to get 300% more profit

Burtonma 07 thanx for the nice feedback! ^^
Blastaway.eu and thank you for the heart!
0:13 when your cool footage "breaks" cause of a Nerf XD
Very neat. I was wondering the other day if the auto slide return would help or hinder a pump kit on the Helios.
so does it help or hinder in your opinion ^^'

Seems like it pays to invest in that Retouch 3D variable heat knife to smooth the finished product.

Thanks for the idea man like
i know this is a old video like super old but what would happen if you used packing tape to tape on the sliding parts??
Thanks for this one! Aesthetically, I think the Apollo kit looks better as well. The shoulder stock attachment makes it for me. On the Helios kit, there’s something strange looking about that too rail being two pieces instead of just one covering the original sight.
you could cut off the orange part and make it one rail ^^
What if a Kronos kar98k
When I first got mine, I immediately thought of that while reloading it.
I got an idea, take off the thumbhole part of the Firefly, then put in on the back of the Helios. Agree?
only if you like the look! ^^‘
Cool, I like the Helios' look better than the Apollo. And it's a upgrade to it
thanx for the feedback ^^
Printing 90 degrees opposite isn't that easy, it would require a lot of supports and would cost more and might not pump as smoothly.
Nice comparison video
thx for the feedback ^^

Your welcome dude keep making the great vids
You might try using some valve lapping compound to smooth out the kit.
that's a first.... what is that exactly? ^^
It is an abrasive paste that is placed between parts that rub together to lap them to each other.
It's at auto part stores.
Wade Kirby but isn‘t that all gross, since the moving parts are nit internal ^^“

typo: nit >>> not
emoji: ^^ >>> : )
Those are some lit glasses!😂
I need to do this to my modified 180 fps helios!

How are you getting 180fps out of a Helios? Rival rounds normally top off at 140fps
Am i the only one who likes that noise?? 😱
hahahaaaaa
NOPE
not me
I like it

Over here in aus, a helios will go for about 60-70 bucks, and the pump kit is slightly less, so its less of an issue.

Magnifique !!!
merci ^^
quick fix to the grindy noise
clear coat it
i might try that ^^
but i think you need to use gloss clear coat....
Rrrrrrrr that sound though
i would rather spend that extra few dollars on an authentic magazine rather than waste my time in battle unjamming the ball thats stuck cos of the stupid knock off magazine
Nice like it
It jammed not good you dont want that happen man
I hate the locks in the Helios. That's the first thing I did when I took this blaster apart.
You got a lemon
