Mother trying to be a brother

Being the younger brother of a sibling with autism can sometimes feel like not having a sibling at all, or at least not the way you would imagine.
Finn never had an older brother to play rough with, get into scrapes with or tumble around with. In fact he really had to be the older brother himself, being extra sensitive to Beau’s special needs, triggers and sensitivity.
As a single mum I tried really hard to be a brother and a mother to give him that outlet… we can only do our best.
