- Een troosteloze buitenwijk in een troosteloze stad in Engeland. Twee jonge mannen, werkend in een troosteloze fabriek, hebben een jaar lang geld opzij gezet om samen de reis van hun leven te maken. Ze willen naar het Braziliaanse Rio de Janeiro, naar zon, zee, strand, drank en Zuid-Amerikaanse dames. Het opstaan uit hun bed, het inpakken van de spullen én het wegrijden... alles verloopt prima. Maar dan... krijgt hun vakantie uiteindelijk toch een andere bestemming?
Achtergrond commercial:
Deze film werd opgenomen in Engeland met uitsluitend Engelse acteurs. De opnames werden in een achterwijk in New Castle gemaakt. Alleen de voorkant van een oud vervallen pand werd omgetoverd tot een heuse chique juwelier. Het moment dat de auto daadwerkelijk de pui zou raken en de juwelier binnen zou rijden, moest in een keer goed zijn en dus vlekkeloos verlopen. In het vervallend pand werden overal camera's neergezet. Uit al die opnames werden de juiste beelden aan elkaar gemonteerd. De bioscoopversie van Rio liet nog een extra beeld zien van de blote billen van een van de acteurs. De achtergrondmuziek in deze film was passend. Het deuntje van 'I go to Rio' van Pete Allen blijft bij de kijker zeker nog lang hangen. Rio won in 2001 de Gouden Loeki.

These guys were planning to go on a holiday to Rio the Janeiro, but on their way to the airport they crashed into a jewelry store. And they have tickets to "escape" the country, how do you explain that they just had an accident and did not try to steal a lot of jewelry and get off to Rio? :-) That's the point of this commercial XD

Pretty self explanatory I'd say. But they accidentally crashed in a jewelry store. Usually the jewelry store gets broken in to without accident.

don't dwell on it, even if you're reminded of it every day. It will just suck the life out of you. Try giving it a positive spin, or focus on something else.
I'm white, so for me it's very different, I suppose. But for a long time I had long hair and about half of the men would look at me like I was some turd. A girly man, whatever. I nearly always have a small backpack on me and in stores people follow me around as well, asking way too often to check my bag. I guess I linger too long in the store, or act differently in some other way - maybe it's just because of the bag. At any rate, at first I got really frustrated about it... I especially got fed up with macho-men, to the point of wanting to beat the shit out of them - just to show them who the true turd/girly man is... It's not worth it. Everyone who doesn't like me for some superficial reason can just bugger off and die for all I care. No matter what we do as a society, some people will always be assholes. It's not about color… It's about assholes.
I can imagine it being tiresome though... Don't let it get to you, is all I'm saying. Life's too short to spend on frustration.
