Karen what a blessing to still have your mom with you. Mine passed 2 years ago & the holidays are not the same! Treasure these moments. That poncho is beautiful!!
Loved the time with your sweet Mom. Still miss my Mother, she died the day after Christmas 18 years ago. I can't believe it's been that long! Cherish the moments with your loved ones always❤️
What blessings to have your Grandmother's recipe in her hand-writing (a true treasure!), and then to have this video of you and your Mom carrying on this tradition together! I lost my Mom and Grandmothers many years ago, so treasure these times (as I know you do!) for as much as possible! Have a wonderful weekend!
Your mom is darling. Savor each moment together as I know you will. ♥️🎄I miss my mom every day and treasure her handwritten notes, especially around the holidays.
I found a cookbook of my mothers not to long ago and there was a handwritten recipe in it I got so excited just to see her handwriting and maybe a little sign that she is still with me.
So wonderful to see you and your mom baking together in the kitchen. Creating wonderful memories you will cherish for many years to come. Watching you and your mom brought back so many happy memories of my mom, grandma and great grandma baking during the holidays. I remember them using lard lol. Little Archie is so adorable! TFS and I hope you have a fantastic Saturday! 💕
Please include your darling Mama in more videos! Many of us have lost our own mamas, and so enjoy seeing the wonderful closeness of moms and daughters together. Give your Mama a hug from me!
Love this video! Your mom is so sweet. I didn’t know you were Polish! I’m Polish too so I love the cooking portion of this video especially. A cooking video making pierogi would be great! That’s my favorite and sadly the only Polish recipe I make. You’ve just given me an idea to make pierogi today!
Such an enjoyable vlogmas to watch!! Yummy!!! I am so happy that the " klejne-sporer/Pig's ear cutter" came in as a handy tool that you can use for many years to come. I knew you would love it! Lol!! Your sweet mom is right about the lard. You can use vegetable oil as a substitute, but here we use shortening (Australian) or coconut fat as a substitute for the lard. Lard still used here in Northern Europe/Scandinavia but is giving another flavor that I'm not sure you will like? But in the very old cooking books from back in the days, they call for lard! If you would like to twist your pigs ears a little bit, I highly recommend adding some grated zest of lemon or orange. Should you ever need a new Klejne-sporer tool, you know who to call. Hugs and Merry Christmas to you all, Helle xo 🎄🎄🎄😘 Ps. Could be so much fun making the Pigs ears aka Klejner cookies with you one of these days in the future before Christmas. My granny's recipe vs yours! Just a crazy idea! Hahahaa!!! Lol!
Nice to see you and your Mom doing things together. Very special ♥️. I lost my Dad 1 yr ago this last August and I really miss him and I super close with my Mom as well so I really treasure time with her♥️🎄🎅
You are so lucky to have your mom and get to bake with her. I’d give anything to have mine. She passed away 10 yrs ago. Miss her so much esp this time of the yr. Loove watching u each day.😘
Karen, my bichon does the same thing. She sits on the back of the couch so she can see outside, and barks at everyone who walks by. I always have a lot of neighbors walk by, and it feels like she barks all day. God forbid someone comes to the door.
They remind me of the bows we make for Christmas. Some Italians called them ‘wands’. I loved them so much. They look amazing. Your mom is just so sweet.
It was so nice to see your mom in your vlog, watching the two of you together in the kitchen reminds me of my grandma and my mom making empanadas. They would make enough for everyone to take home and enjoy. How I wish for those times together. Treasure every moment you possibly can. This is what Christmas is all about!
Loved seeing you and your sweet mom baking in the kitchen, and you both looked way cute in your aprons :) You look gorgeous in this poncho sweater Karen..... LOVE the colors, and LOVE the style........thanks so much for sharing girl, Happy Holidays, take care XO
It’s so nice to see you and your mom together sharing a family tradition. Your mom is so sweet! ❤️Thank you Karen for doing Vlogmas I’ve enjoyed each video.
Karen, I absolutely fell in love with your poncho sweater that you wore in this blog. I loved it so much that I called the store this morning and without having a name or style number, the employees were so great and were able to find me the same sweater and order it for me over the phone and are sending it all the way to California today! All I had to say is it's the new gray sweater that Karen just bought this week that looks like a poncho. They totally laughed because they knew exactly who I was talking about and what sweater I was talking about. It's almost like you're a celebrity in that store! Sending lots of love and hugs from California for a beautiful holiday season to you and yours. - Amy
Hey Karen! Happy day 14! Your mom is adorable! I so miss mine everyday especially this time of year! That outfit at the end of the video was beautiful! I love poncho tops! You looked gorgeous! Enjoyed! See you tomorrow! Hugs and love! Xo⛄🌲🎅💕
You and your Mom are precious. I love seeing you cook together. I miss my mama so much. Especially this time of year. Enjoy every glorious moment!💕💙💜💛💚❤️
Bonjour Karen, Love that tradition that you have with your mom and baking together ! This is priceless for sure. I am totally in love with the puncho sweater, you look gorgeous wearing it with those earrings ! Thanks again for taking the time to vlog and sharing so much with us. Much love to you (( hugs ))
My grandma taught me to make a very similar treat called a pankushki....probably misspelled. She was Hungarian/Slavish decent...came to America as a toddler. We sprinkle them with sugar...and they are, as yours are, delectable! I also have the Q advent calendar, and some of the items are nearly impossible to remove. Lol. I struggle and end up pushing them out through the back. I really, really like the Nest scent that was in there. I never tried it before. I generally wear Falling in Love by philosophy. I have also used the hair product you use....also purchased from QVC. I get most of my makeup products from them. But, I also shop at Ulta when I can. It is an hour and a half from me, so that is the issue. I love the poncho like sweater you wore out to dinner! You looked so nice. Lastly, watching you and your sweet mama made me miss mine. She has been gone since 2014, and I miss both her and dad so much. You are so lucky to have her. Of course, I am grateful for the 59 years I was blessed to have her. Enjoy your dear mom, as I know you will. Love, Cindi
MrsAnScarlett thank you so very much. I will write than down. I was trying to spell it as I remembered her saying it. She may have used her own pronunciation. Merry Christmas!
Hello :) Great video! Do Your family have polish roots? I`m from Poland and I`m watching Your channel from Germany, where I live. The dish- chrusty or faworki (You called it chrusciki) is a traditional dish for a day called fat Thursday, its the last day before the fast (about a month before Easter).
Your Mom is beautiful! What a treat to have your grandmother’s recipe in her own handwriting. I always thought you were Italian because you cook so many delicious Italian recipes.

HILARIOUS ! Karen you just crack me up I swear ! Xo. P.s. Your intro was so cute ! I love anything animated !! Lol
2 Orchids ....I'm such a DORK !! That kinda happened by accident. When I got to Day 15, I was like.... wait a minute, she hasn't done 15 yet !! Then I looked at the date In the description box and It said 2018 !! I was thinking to myself, Gail your such a Dork !! Lol. I guess I couldn't get enough of you that I ended up accidentally going into last year's Vlogmas !!! Lol
8 minutes in and my Alexa just created a "grocery" list and added baking powder to it... :D Anyone with an Alexa might want to skip from 7 to about 8:15. Hilarious since half the time, or more, she doesnt understand me, but she understood you perfectly :D
Where can I get that tool to make the Kruschiki? My mom and grandma also made these (my job to do the powdered sugar! I would love this tool! My mom put brandy in her recipe. : ) Merry Christmas
Hi Karen, your Mom is a sweetheart, I’ve been looking all over the net trying to find out where I can locate your leaf motif wrought iron lantern you have with the red wreath around it, I absolutely love yours, if you have time, could you let me know where I can get one, I would really appreciate it, I’m a newbie an I really enjoy your vlogmas ❄️☃️❄️

Gurl - those pig ears or whatever they are are WAY TOO MUCH WORK!! O M G!! I'm sure that they taste amazing - they better! LOL! At least you got to have some mother/daughter bonding. on another note, I got the SAME sweater!! I ordered it and got so many compliments when I wore it! I wore a black tank top underneath - did you wear anything under it? I just felt like my sides were exposed. You wore it well! May copy your look. I wore mine with jeans. Archie and my Cash (my yorkie) are JUST alike. He is on patrol and since we are the first house on the right in our cul-de-sac he barks all of the time. I swear you would think we lived on a main road some days. Love watching your vlogmas - just love you so much. xo
I'm exhausted just hearing about your very busy social calendar. I'm a real home body. Another thing I've noticed since watching your videos is that I have never seen your husband introduced like the rest of the family members on outings or even at home. Is he camera shy? If so, I truly understand. I don't like to be on camera either. When do you find time to wrap presents and get your proper amount of sleep?
Fun! MY grandparents were all from Poland and I used to make these with my grandmother - Babci in Polish. Pronounced "Bob chee". Did you ever call your grandmother that? We called what you made kruschiki and yes, I've heard them called pig ears. We did make donuts though and they were called Pazcki , pronounced "punch kee." Did you or your mom ever hear of them? Enjoyed seeing this. I have all of Babci"s recipes I wrote down when I was a teenager, and one I treasure that she wrote herself. Maybe when my Mom comes for the holidays, we"ll make the kruschiki - you've inspired me!
@@MrsAnScarlett Yes, I know Babcia is the official way to say Grandmother, but we used to call her "Babci" - the diminutive. And that was how she signed her name to us. I also know that to pronounce kruschiki has an "h" sound in the front. That's the way we said/say it. But I spelled it the way it is anglicized. I'm not the best on Polish spelling, but am pretty decent with a lot of pronunciation. ; ) It's nice to connect with a Polish person. We still have family there. My Babci was from Mielecz - Im sure I spelled that one wrong, lol.
I loved reading your comments!! We have heard of Pazcki, but never made them! I am so happy we inspired you!! Your sweet comments inspire me!! Merry Christmas!! Hugs!! Karen xo

Hey enjoy watching people with their mothers mine is no longer here but I just got all her memories and her fry bread recipe LOL it's the best
Okay I see why you guys are talking how you guys can get in trouble by having music that sweater poncho I don't know but it's pretty!!
I would like to know more about your hair extensions?

Another Great Vlogmas! loved the baking with your mom!
You and your mom are too cute. Looks delicious......
Hi Gloria! Mark is such a private guy. Though very supportive of our channel! January 2nd, I’ll rest!! Lol! Hugs!
I`m Polish, greatings for You :) Grandma it`s babcia with "a" in the end. The kruschiki should start with "h" or it`t called faworki.
Hugs!! Karen xo
