Hey Ron, I have a large yard similar to yours, I invested in this walk behind boom sprayer 2 yrs ago... It definitely make your job a lot easier and a more evenly application spread.... This is the one I purchased... Master Gardener Rechargeable Cart Sprayer - 12 Volt, 9-Gallon Capacity, Model Number PCD-E3-009B-MM... Or since you like Chapin look at this one Chapin 97902 12 gallon Battery operated push sprayer... Any one will work but never used a Chipin though... Both on Amazon
Thanks for the tips Marcus. The walk behind is pretty sweet. Would probably save quite a bit of time. I'm just not sure where I'd store it. I'm already a bit cramped for space in my garage. I bet it puts down a very even pattern. Will have to look at some of the reviews on it. Thanks for sharing man. What kind of grass are you working with?
Ron Henry :.... I have Tifway Bermuda grass, I’m actually making another attempt over seeding using your method mixing Princesses 77 with sand next Thursday after sandman aerated my lawn.. Wish me luck!!!
By far, the very best hand held walking boom sprayer (I have ever used) is a unit put together by Dr. Wayne Currey (retired weed specialist at UF) at Weed Systems Inc. It uses a 3 gal SS tank with CO2 as a propellant. Booms can be configured any way you desire. Pricey but well built. I have used one since the late 80's when I was at Disney.
@@RonHenry C02 can be found at dive shops, paintball gear stores, etc. (or possibly local fire departments can refill tank). The last one I did (in Orlando) was less than $10. You just have to check around locally.
I'm confused about something. If the rate is 3-5 oz per 1000sqf and assuming that's per gallon of water, why 4 gallons in tank. Is this done as to not over feed lawn throughout the season?
You would multiply the rate by however many gallons you’re applying. So if you went with the 5 oz per 1k rate, you’d mix a total of 20 oz. of the product with 4 gallons of water and apply over 4k square feet. I have a newer spoon feeding video here: ua-cam.com/video/Ht3NuqMo9bc/v-deo.html
@@RonHenry If you reach the full 4000sq feet and still have liquid in the tank, do you suggest going over the already covered area again to finish what's left in the tank?
Ron, I have an ez-flo Water Soluble Fertilizer tank embeded in my sprinkler system. It is a 1.5 Gallon Tank. Any idea of the Flo Rate for this set-up? And is this Strictly for Lawns, or plants/Shrubs too ? I'm up in New York. Thanks.
Hi Ron, question. Once I mix my fertilizer with water with the correct ounces needed and start spraying, do I spray until the filler is empty? Or do I gage and stop whenever I feel likes it’s enough and the remaining will be waste?
Heya College Grads. Nope. I didn't serve in the military. I do teach martial arts though so that's where some of it likely comes from. Appreciate you watching.

The Central Turf and Irrigation Stores by me do not carry the Brandt Supreme Green product. Seeing the alternative in the description, what is the desired amount of nitrogen so I know the right ratio to use?
Hi Chuck, I would use this in place of Brandt Supreme Green. golfcourselawn.store/products/turfplex-iv-20-2-3-with-seaxtra It's a more complete product. Hello Ron, I have bermuda grass which I live in the south. I have crabgrass and wanted to know how to rid of it without burning the bermuda? I have purchased a few products out if panic because it is spreading more everyday. I purchased quinclorac df75 , and tenacity. Reading the label I found out that I cannot use tenacity on bermuda. Is quinclorac good enough without burning the lawn? If I were to use a vert very small amount of tenacity will I still hurt my bermuda grass? How you use the quinclorac?
The more mature the crabgrass the less effective it is. Your best bet is to apply pre-emergent this fall and next spring. That’s the best way to control weeds in your lawn.
Hi K9. This is the liquid fertilizer I'm using for spoon feeding. golfcourselawn.store/products/turfplex-iv-20-2-3-with-seaxtra I don't believe Site One carries Brandt Supreme Green. Pretty sure they don't carry TurfPlex either. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Heya Robert. You'd have to get Supreme Green at a local golf supply store. An alternative that's pretty much equivalent that you can get on Amazon is this product: amzn.to/2WRaPrI It has the same amount of iron and micronutrients. It just contains less Nitrogen which isn't a big deal since you're getting that primarily from your primary fertilizer. It's a good micronutrient solution.
Robert Young awesome Robert. Let me know it works out for you when you put it down. Remember to put it down at the suggested rate. Lighter is better than heavier. 😎👍
Hi Leo. I've never used it, so can really speak to the results. The ingredients are ones you can find in other products so it just depends on your preferences. Chelated iron is chelated iron. Zinc is zinc. etc. When I think about higher end fertilizers, the products from Lebanon Turf come to mind. The formulations used for slow release nitrogen and potassium have a lot of actual science behind them that produce a really good result. My recommendation is to get a good soil test done and then apply products based on the results.
