This is an almost forgotten but beautiful song by Ralph Mctell from the early 70s. Your rendition Joe added more color and body to the original version without altering the main theme. A very good innovation indeed. Thanks Joe.
Hey Joe, first saw Ralph play this in '72, been going to his gigs annually ever since. There's been 200+ versions of this great song, and it's sooo good to hear you do your excellent interpretation of this classic!! Only discovered you a couple of months ago (via Tommy E) you now have another loyal fan. Thank you.
I think this must be a recording trick... nobody can switch guitars that quick.. Love it Joe😄 Absolutely amazing, and inspiring as always!💚🎶 much love from Sweden
Soulful, beautiful version of a great song. What i absolutely love of Joe is his musical versatility , his technical wizardry is always a means to an end
Joe... I watch u since 2009 when i found your "the chatterbox" ( my favourite all the time) It's amazing how u walk with your life with your biggest love - guitar (kinda jelaous :P) I still see this kid on blue wall inside u and that thing warm up my soul a little in that hard time we have. Soooo much love from one of your fans
Joe this is so so good👏👏👏👏😊 I’ve played it everyday for 4 days. Keep it up your vocals are awesome. My wife and I first became fans when you played at the Chet Atkins convention right after you won Australia’s got talent👏 We have both been fans since👍
Congratulations Joe, you really made this song come alive. I am sure the writer-performer Roger Whitaker must be proud of you. Please keep the good songs coming. All the best to you...from Thailand. 🎶👍✌️💕🇹🇭
I have just found you on the internet. What a great talent! You must be one of the best guitar players I have heard! You have moved me so many times with your music! Keep it going, Joe! Hope to see you live one day! Greets from Belgium!
Et comment ❤️ J’aime encore plus dans le live 21 à la 15’ 😇 ❤️ L’avez vous entendu ? Joe est un guitariste - chanteur exceptionnel, d’une rare sensibilité ! Meilleures salutations
excellent version of Ralph McTell's most famous composition,'m sure you know his work Joe but if not he is awesome and will give you some real inspiration, he started as ragtime player but his songs are wonderful I could go on all night!!! my favourite album is "you well meaning brought me here",I first heard him in the seventies and he is a true treasure, stay safe and if you get chance tell me what you think ,Ralph McTell ROCKS gently
I know that you can play much more difficult pieces but i love this song and i thank you for recording it...it doesn't matter that a song is difficult or wildly intricate, it's jusy important that it speaks to my heart..love your playing and skills...i'm a novice songwriter and have a few songs on youtube under guitar dave...keep it up bro!
Hey Joe! That's a really nice song, man. Been following you since Time Jumpin'! My brother was watching a video on the boxer Smokin' Joe Frasier, and all I could think was, "What is Joe Robinson up to these days?" Good to see a familiar face in all this corona craziness, just subscribed. I learned Midnight in Nashville when I was 16 ten years ago to try and push my limits. I played it for a buddy the other day and realized it's to this day the most difficult song I know, but still very timeless and soothing. Maybe it's time to learn another and see if I can outplay my younger self!
I seriously think you are one of the best Guitarists i have ever heard. I am the son of 'band' Certain Failures lead singer, So weird to think i met you once. It has bee great watching your online content over the years. ill watch the Joe12 sometime. Keep up the good work.
@@Joe_Robinson I will, I will, I only just found out that TIme Jumpin was 10 years old Certain Failure only went on UA-cam the year after and is now on Spotify my dad still has plenty of CD's XD It's so cool that you advertise tabs for 2 of your albums, ill be sure to learn a few of them :) Peace Mitch
I like your take on it Joe! You are a killer player! Ralph McTell has updated this song by adding a new verse a couple of days ago in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The chord progression of the verse is based on Pachelbel's Canon in D.
@@Joe_Robinson l imagine that you would be able to come up with a solo fingerstyle version of this song. If you did I would be the first one to buy the transcription. I actually purchased your tab book and Royal Flush is now on my to do list. It's gonna probably take me ages to learn! Best wishes.
@@GregMichael It has a great melody - so it probably would make a neat instrumental! Thanks Greg, hope you have fun playing the songs! Royal Flush is a tricky one - if the fast licks are a challenge, id suggest simplifying them so you can have fun playing the rest of the tune.
We have a new Facebook Group called 'Joes12 Community' - its open to the public and there are lots of players sharing songs and ideas etc. Was discussing this with someone on there today
