This is the ONLY homemaking video that hasn’t made me feel bad about myself. My dream is to be the best homemaker and mama my family has seen but unfortunately I deal with a chronic illness that started when I was only 14. It sounds very similar to yours actually. Thank you for this video and please if you find the strength, make more! I need this gentle and understanding approach. I’m tired of pretending I am normal and just lazy!
I'm so glad it was encouraging! And I'm so sorry to hear that you have a chronic illness. It's so hard. I have UA-cam on my list of things I hope to do in 2025 if I can find a way to fit it into my schedule. :)
This was really helpful to me! I’m in bed watching UA-cam to try and distract me from the pain, fatigue and disappointment I feel for not being better for my family. Thank you for taking about this ❤️
Hi. It's my first time watching. I am also a mom of 4 and was in the valley of shadow of death for 5 year. It was so hard. I see your style of staying afloat is very similar to mine.I am also an achiever and need to feel productive no matter what. I have finally found some relief and actual great days where I don't crash for longer than the a day instead of weeks of being bed/housebound in a dark room since watching daily videos from "Dan pain free you" on youtube. I believe God is healing my overtired nervous system. God bless.
So nice to meet you! I'm so sorry you've also experienced chronic illness, but I'm glad you're enjoying some good days and relief from pain! Blessings to you.
A mental health illness becomes chronic when it lasts more than 3 months and limits daily living activities. Although the term "depression" is often misused, depression is very real and can become a chronic illness requiring medical intervention.
I can so relate and it's really encouraging to hear someone else talk about not feeling productive and the reminder to give yourself grace. I struggle with feeling very depressed about expectations and not being able to meet them. Thank you for this realistic video!
That's very kind of you-thank you for thinking of me! I've been having difficulty finding time to make videos, but I do have UA-cam on my list of things I hope to do in 2025. :) Things are going fine, and I have so many things I'd love to share if I can just fit it into the schedule!
Thank you so much I cried watching this! Now I feel seen and took some helpful notes I have pots and seizures and I am a homemaker good and bad days come but I’m glad I’m not alone new subscriber! ❤
Thank you so much for this. I am a homemaker currently sidelined by spinal issues and am about to have a pretty major surgery for it soon. I miss being able to tidy my house! Hoping it comes back one day. Thanks
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m not sure if you have tried this yet, but with my chronic illness I have lots of inflammation in my body, so I started eating an all meat diet, which is the “carnivore diet “and it has helped decrease so much inflammation in my body, joints, muscles, etc. I will be praying for you and for healing 🙏
Thank you so much! About two years ago I started the autoimmune paleo diet, and it has helped so much. I'm so glad you've found a diet that has been helping you as well!
Thank you! I found this helpful! I have 2 small children and work out of the home 4 days a week as well, I have several chronic illnesses and I struggle quite a lot! Like you I have some days that I am better than others.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I have been diagnosed with 6 different chronic illnesses, and I recently got married and even though my husband is encouraging and understanding, I struggle with feeling like I don't do enough.
I'm so glad this was encouraging, but I'm so sorry that you're also dealing with chronic illness. A kind husband is such a blessing! My husband is the same (and he does so much for our family), but I can relate to the struggle of feeling disappointed with myself when I can't do more.
Appreciate this, thank you. I'm a stay at home/ homeschooling mom. I have an autoimmune condition that has flared these past few years (stress) and am currently dealing with adrenal dysfunction. Have you dealt with insomnia and/or anxiety during your illness? Or do you now? Wondering if you have any suggestions. Thank you again for being willing to share your struggles with us. It reminds me of the verse that says, (not verbatim) in your struggles/trials you can be a comfort to others who are also experiencing the same as God has been a comfort to you.♥️
Nice to meet you! I'm so sorry you also suffer from health issues. I also have an autoimmune condition, so I can relate to dealing with flares. I have seen some relief from symptoms (including anxiety) by going on a strict AIP diet. It hasn't solved everything, but it has helped. Before going on the diet I had chronic hives, which kept me from being able to sleep hardly at all, but the diet did help with the hives, thankfully.
Chronic illness is soooo tough to homake through, so glad i found your channel, and i just subscribed. I have 3 different illnesses i have to push through. Blessings ❤
I love your home making binder that’s a brilliant idea!! I thought of doing a master list of meals before and see how it would help, so I’m definitely going to do this!!
Joy, I enjoyed this video so much!! Thank you for sharing your ideas! I would love to see your master menus :) I’m always on the hunt for new ideas for food with lots of littles :) ❤
New to your channel and I really enjoyed this video. I found you while searching for knitting dishcloth videos and yours is great! I ordered some things from Amazon through your link.
Joy, I appreciate this video so much, thank you! 🧡 Like you I love to be productive and check things off my list. I also struggle with my health, thyroid/adrenal issues. I have even dealt with parasites. I see a functional medicine doctor in Springfield. Would you feel comfortable sharing how you got diagnosed and what symptoms led up to the diagnosis? I remember you struggling with your adrenals and taking Plexus some years ago. I do t know if you feel this way, but it’s hard for me to make plans with people because I never know how I will feel on any day. Last minute and spontaneous get togethers are my preference but not everyone can do that. I am trying to be more hospitable and that has actually worked well, for the last minute aspect. I hope you have more good days than challenging ones. 🧡🧡
Thank you, Brooke! I'm so sorry you also struggle with health issues. I did struggle with adrenal issues years ago, and then things got better with my health after I started putting some focused effort into healing. However, several years later, now I'm dealing with a different condition. My main symptom (which started last summer) was chronic urticaria (chronic hives). It was so incredibly miserable, and I couldn't even sleep at night! I also had joint pain, brain fog, extreme fatigue, weight gain, anxiety, and I was cold all the time. I can totally relate to not being able to predict how you'll feel ahead of time. It's so frustrating.
@@ArtfulHomemaking The chronic hives sounds awful! I have many of the other symptoms you mentioned. Thank you for all the great ideas you gave in your video. 🥰
Thank you! I made this dress. Last summer I made five dresses using the same pattern. They're so comfortable. I show all five of them in this video: ua-cam.com/video/vQgAO4DCXzE/v-deo.html and they're also featured in this blog post: www.artfulhomemaking.com/make-your-own-clothes/

Very real… as I lay on my couch dosing off on your wonderful video. They are so calming and bring such peace. ❤️ For me, I take it day by day and no scheduling times. I found it to be insensitive. My face has changed... I look stoic, once I was told, I had a “stone face” that I don’t smile. Of course, that remark hurt my feelings. But I’ve let it go. I definitely give myself grace, now. It’s a much easier time of it. For me surrendering it and offering my sufferings and trials to God has been good for me. To grow from it, is progress and blessing even through the trials, if that makes sense. Thankful for you and the time you put into your beautiful videos. Blessing and hope you’re well. After watching this and spending the entire day in bed- I realize now that I have chronic illness. I never thought of that. Thank you for this video.
I'm so sorry to hear you're dealing with health issues too. It's so hard to go through.
Don’t focus on what you haven’t done on your list - switch your focus - what DID you get done? Even it’s 1 thing! 😀
Great advice!
I don't know if mental health struggles count as chronic illness but this is so helpful to me when I'm having seasons of hardship.

Do you have a video on your binder? I would just like to see more detail about it. Thanks

You may want to look into your diet(elimation diet) &/or healing frequencies...
The AIP diet has been very helpful to me, since it eliminates possible inflammatory foods.
Thank you❤

What do you do with the rag when you're done?
I wash a load of microfiber cleaning cloths at the end of the week on a hot/sanitize cycle.

That does make it more difficult.
