Great vid Nev. I learned a trick with squid from decky’s up north. If you hold them gently behind the head 👌 & point their heads down the water drains out of them & they can’t ink. Skippers don’t like ink on the mothership 😅

In my area of South Island here in Nz, we've had Threshers show up to say hullo, with the usual jump, and the other day we had 2-3 bronzes show up. Pity yo didn't get a look. Nev! I was practicing knot tying on my garden bench on a windy day and found it difficult. I was thinking about you in the kayak and wondered what you use for line or hook knots whilst out on the water. I'm guessing it would't be easy for a perfect knot.
Did you listen? First kayak was on trial, and it’s a Hobie Lynx. Second was Ned’s trusty Hobie Compass. I would imagine setting up with nav lights, outriggers, depth sounder etc may have taken too long so maybe that’s why he just took the old one.
Entertaining Video! May I ask how do you like the black mamba rod for kayak? Usually kayak rods have short butt to make more comfortable so it wont hit you shirt etc. been looking at one of those after watching your vids and wondering if they r good option
