What a wonderful job experience to be a guide in Florence!! My daughter, Laura, has visited Italy twice and came back with the most beautiful photos and stories of Florence and many other towns....the architecture & paintings are mouth dropping gorgeous! The colors of the Renaissance paintings are so vivid and I love the style of the human form.
Dear Rachel, your 100 day projects are just so beautiful and you have done such an amazing job with all of your prompts! I love your new Botanical digi, it is gorgeous! I have also been watching your tutorials on how to make an ephemera folio and how to make a journal. Beautiful, easy to understand and follow tutorials. Thank you for them and all you do! I would love to be the owner of one of your journals some day. Hugs
Absolutely gorgeous journal page!!! All the pieces to use from the originals was fun to see - and those kits are just stunning!! Do you find that this subject just makes you want to fill up the journal- if you were making a whole journal of this style?? I think a whole journal like this would be amazing to see and flip through!!
I think i will make a Renaissance journal! I have Jarf's new Renaissance kit so will use some of thst mixed in with originals I think! Thank you so much!
I am using medieval mirage kit sweet serenity right now making 2 journal’s. I think there are almost 44 pages you print out. Her kits are different from your normal kits out there. But I always throw in some of your kits in there to Rachel lol. I have not bought your newest one yet, because if I do I will want to make a journal right away! I want to finish what I started first. I love the bright colors in this video, so beautiful.🤗🤗🤗🤗
Love this, this period in history is my favorite as well. I like the journal cards of paintings. Sometimes, this time, collage is not necessary. Great work, Rachel.
I remember tea dyeing fabric and papers way back when and to get them to dry quickly i would press them with a hot iron. It never fails when i use the hair dryer everything is flying all over, you'd think i'd remember...senior moments.
Oh wow Rach, I logged onto UA-cam tonight (Sunday) and noticed your thumbnail "Renaissance" and was instantly curiously captivated.... love this period of time too. It really suits you and you are living in the right country for it. Thank you so much for sharing Rach. I adore what you made and Stefs and your digi designs are perfect for this era. Just delish! And awwww.... you featured my kits again, thanks hun, such an honor and yep you have described what Medieval Mirage is all about perfectly. Thank you so much hun. Thanks for being a constant inspiration. Huge hugs. Take care. xx
You've always had me hooked and then you started talking about art history! Hook, line, and sinker. I was a double major in art ed and studio painting. Lol. Now I cant wait to see what you do with it!
Luv luv loved it Rachel and thanks for the lesson was really interesting.bit miserable at moment would have been touring Italy for three wks now 😟😭Lizzie
Thank you Rachel for the history lesson,I need all the help I can get to understand that period of time.😋 as you was bringing out all your papers for this session I was confused what you would do. I cant wrap my brain around this. But as always you walked me thur each step and helped me understand some of this period of time. Awesome job❤❤❤❤😷
It is 2:17 AM -- I can't believe you're on Day 24 already -- it seems only yesterday you were talking about how you and Sarah were going to decide what to do -- this was lovely -- and you are so knowledgeable -- I bet you were the best tour guide they had -- I know Lulu loves Florence -- could you ever see you and Stefano moving there in retirement? I know you have family obligations where you are now -- and -- you're 8 mins. from the beach and close to really great pizza if we're ever allowed to be free again .... I'm not being flippant when I ask you this question. Do you know what Wal-Mart is? It's this huge store -- they call them super centers -- one side is a large grocery store with a deli and bakery -- the other side sells typical dept. store things: clothes, household goods, sporting goods, electronics, gardening, etc. -- they also have a small craft/fabric section in my store -- other stores may have larger ones -- almost everything in the craft dept. was sold -- I went to get needle threaders, and almost all of the sewing notions are gone ... but, they had toilet paper, and people were coming out with carts crammed full -- that's where I got the kitten formula -- our vet didn't carry it and referred us to go -- and grocery stores around our area are completely out of bread flour or you might call it strong flour -- or the double 00 -- and apparently yeast -- I talked to another shopper, and she said she had been to 6 stores, that she was a big baker prior to this, and everybody was sold out -- so -- I taught her how to make her own yeast starter for sour dough bread -- this was my instruction -- go to youtube and search: how to make sourdough starter -- ha -- you just add water to flour and leave it on a shelf in your closet for about a week is basically it -- I'm going to stop -- you do not have to respond -- and -- I bought your travel kit No. 4 -- totally because of the blue; it's so pretty -- way back in the beginning of April, so I'm inspired to pull it out -- be well yourself -- P
Thanks for the history lesson. Must admit to being a little ignorant on Renaissance but not now! Love what you did with all your yummy papers. I thought the folder type thing with flowers could have plain paper in it turning it into a booklet. Just a thought 🥰
OK I'm really excited about this day because my name is Renee. And I'm sitting here listening to you say Renaissance and I've never heard anybody say it that way. But when you explained where it came from, the word rebirth, I knew that about my name. My birthday is on the 24th of a different month, and this is day 24. I love watching you and creating with you. Your work is wonderful.
Fantastic! I love you explaining the art. What is the name of your large art book? Black and white photos. Maybe you used it in school? I would love to search for a copy for my library. I love the Renaissance period!
THis was such a pleasure to watch. I enjoyed hearing you talk about the Renaissance and seeing all of the pictures of the Art and Architecture. It is a favorite of mine, as well. Take care, Rachel.
@@roxycreations679 I had suggested this topic so I was delighted it was used. I love this period in history. This reminds me of a romance like period since it was falling back in love with learning and the arts.
Thanks for the art lesson. Love, love what you made! How did Lulu's interrogation go? For us in the U.S. at least, “interrogation” means something else entirely - and nothing to do with school lessons!
Oh I know, it's 'interrogazione' in Italian so I just don't know what to call it in English. They do literally interrogate them on whatever they had to study. She was really pleased as in history she got 9/10, the same for her presentation in geography and hse was also interrogated for art history. She doesn't know he result there but felt it went well. That be said she had a big headache all arvo!!! Thank you so much!
I am slowly coming to grips with tearing pages out of books, especially the ones with gorgeous pictures. I am trying to approach it with the idea that if the book stays intact, it will sit on someone’s shelf and possibly be taken down from time to time and looked through. . If it is used in journals and such, pieces of it can be enjoyed by many people who will absolutely appreciate its beauty. I am not entirely there yet, but I am making an attempt not to cringe when I hear tearing. Try drawing an arrow on the back of your script stamp showing which direction it should be going. It will keep you from having to stamp it first to check.
I do love history and art ( even though i dont know a great deal about it) other than the better known artists, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Raphael etc... ( i also really like Canaletto's paintings, but i think he is slightly later than the Renaissance ?) xo
