Great tutorial. I tried to use external effects as your vid. But one thing you may want to mention. Press reverb button, and turn reverb depth knob up. This enables the knob assign, reverb send, to work as your vid. It took me a while but got there 😃. Keep up the good work
Good demo/tutorial, Doug! You can also use your iPhone/iPad for send/return effects, just use a soundinterface. I use a Zoom ur-44 for that. Now you can setup multiple channels in AUM to send effects to the MC-707. Works perfect!
Just_Pierre I don’t know if you’ll see this, but how do you connect the 707 to AUM? I use AUM myself with my iPad Pro but I’m not sure how this would work..
@@metmain5 I think they mean to hook the iPad to an audio interface (like the Zoom U-44). Then connect the MC-707 to the Zoom U-44. Then all the sends/returns in the MC-707 are controlled with the iPad (using effects in AUM).
Great tutorial! I‘m trying to figure out how to make the send and return tracks different. It‘s not possible right? Also I didn‘t find a way to make the returning signal 100% wet, because the sounds playing on the track that sends to external effects needs to be audible, so it‘s not the wet signal that‘s coming from the external effects, which made me doubt it‘s completely wet but the signal that is still audible before it goes through external effects.
I was hoping you could have a send amount on each channel , at the moment you can only send a chosen channel not amounts from each channel like the internal S&R.
@@soundofmonolith1215 Yes, but it will "cost" you global reverb or delay. Selecting REVERB or DELAY as "POS" will bypass that internal effect and instead be used by the send/return. And in my case, this is a problem. I want to send multiple tracks on the MC707 to the side chain effect of the 8S. I can't figure out a good audio route for this.
hey doug! I really have a difficult time getting the mc707 to work with me in aum. maybe you can help me out. I would like to send its audio (best would be to select one or multiple channels, then inevitably to be sent as one on a bus) stereo to the ipad, process it there and hear of cause just that on the devices outputs. now with the sends&returns this seems impossible (that bus is hardwired to the four physical connectors, right? and also as in many places there just doesn't seem to be any real bus except the built in masterFX) also watched your other video and it helped a bit! to me it seems like (once you are in CC mode) what comes out of the ipad is always present on the mainmix of the mc (with no way of attenuating) and what comes out of the mc is always blindly routed to the ipad (attenuated by the usb- direct-mix- output-controll in the utilities). while the first one would be nice to have a level control on (like that on a fader) the second one is really just stupidly feeding back whatever is returned from the ipad back into the ipad again, making it impossible to use that for anything but extreme feedback effects (and silent recording of course wich is at least something) basically. in elektron machines this never happened to me: you can cut the internal audio routing, so you hear only the ipads mix (without the internal audio competing with it), the volume of that signal can be attenuated on the device, while at all times only the internal audio is ever sent to the ipad (the only thing that makes sense to send there- other than its own signal), preventing feedback. really hard to find info on this, would love to see another tutorial on how to combine these :D

I enjoyed this - and I’m not that big of a drum machine fan (like the sounds but prefer triggering them live). Purely our of curiosity, is this signal routing system also doable with an MPC-X?
Actually I’m not really sure about the MPC-X but I just had a quick check in the internet and I can’t see any send and returns on the back so probably not
Thank you for your prompt response, The Sound Test Room. I felt like asking, partially because I have never owned of working drum machine, groove station or workstation. It really isn’t a priority. However, I was curious to know that particular detail.

On my 707 this seems to affekt the 707 internal reverb only. I can‘t hear the reverb of my external effect (NTS-1)
Awesome! Thanks, Doug! Just got the Blackhole Reverb pedal rocking with the MC707! WOOT! 😀 👊

great lesson thanks for this😊
Ahh ya lad! Good on ya.
Brilliant tutorial - such a good teacher. Thanks a million.
Great informative vid! Thanks for taking the time to create it.
Brilliant vid thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
That’s a great tutorial! I like it so much that this Maschine has stereo send and returns.

Cool tutorial, thank you very much!
I find it easier to use different coloured cables for sends and return, to make sure I know what goes where.
Yes, that is a good idea, if you have enough different coloured cables 😂
btw.. i like the world map on the table. where did you get it?
Thx! 👍🏿😎👍🏿

hi. is it possible to run the mc 707 via usb through the ipad and put different effects on every track with AUM (for example) ?
Thanks dude!! finally

There is send & return on the MPC, but it works internally. There are some UA-cam videos about this. Look for ''Tubedigga"
