Right?! I'm amazed he not pulling in millions of views to his songs... maybe his music is too 'smart' for most people... most people prefer dumb EDM beats.. anyways... sometimes I just don't get people..
No Still Life? That might be my favorite of his, it awakens my soul!! I may go see him tour soon and was hoping this song would be included in the set.
@@andrewwhitman4289I'm curious what part of the songs are being created live? I mean, most of it has got to be pre-recorded, so what's actually happening when he turns knobs and presses buttons? Or is it just like a dj set where he's just playing songs? Might go to the San Francisco show and trying to decide if I should go. Thanks!
@@Grateful2Exist I'm fairly new to electronic music production, but here is my understanding: when producers are playing their music "live," what they're doing is constantly starting and stopping looped prerecorded tracks (i.e. separate tracks for vocals, kicks, hats, synths, bass, other recordings and samples...etc), often with software such as Ableton. In addition to changing up the tracks, they're adjusting faders / knobs to control volumes, filters, and effects for various tracks (some of which can also be automated or programmed so that you're not twisting 16 knobs at once). Instead of transitioning between songs, they're transitioning from one set of instrumental loops to the next. Think of it as DJing but a little more involved and with more versatility. If you wanna know more, just look up DJ Boring's live performance tutorial. Or you can look up Akai's APC40, which is used in live performances by several EDM artists such as Boring and Bonobo. Also, some musicians such as Bonobo do a hybrid thing, i.e. having the song play preprogrammed with certain tracks like bass and synth removed so he and his band can play those parts live.
The most I could say is Chick Corea would love this. Rest in peace my mate. The maestro of jazz piano. Fusion. The absolute epitome of piano. My opinion only. What a weapon he was and he would love this.

Wish he played “Wait” . A great set either way.
What a great set! Does anyone know what gear he is using during this live performance?

It inevitably reminds me of Kiasmos.
