CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Abdul (Robert Forster) and the terrorists shoot a hostage when the Colonel (Lee Marvin) disrupts a covert strike led by McCoy (Chuck Norris).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
In the very successful first appearance of several "Delta Force" action films that continued into the early '90s, this non-stop, flag-waving advocate for covert violence over diplomatic negotiations is not for those who favor gun control. Based on the real incident of a hijacking of a TWA plane in Athens that was successfully negotiated to a conclusion, this fictional version has the covert Delta Force leader Colonel Nick Alexander (Lee Marvin) team up with Major Scott McCoy (Chuck Norris) to conquer the bad guys by violence.

Robert Forster - RIP
Rest in peace Robert Forster (1941-2019)
first thing that comes to mind when i think of Robert Forster is Alligator ...RIP
You mean Abdul Raffay from the NEW world Revolution ;)
Bravo attore Rip
And in the end McCoy gets both of them!
On a side note, 23 years later, Robert Forester plays a American general in Olympus has Fallen after playing an anti American terrorist in this film.
Yup.
you get extremely mad seeing a soldier die that way, but the frown becomes upside down as you notice a doll come crashing down, bouncing of the ground as the terrorist throws an ironic peace sign.
Not for me. It fills me with more rage knowing that this based on a real hijacking and this is exactly how they executed an American Serviceman who was on board. That sicking "splat" as the doll hits the ground drives it home at the pure inhumanity that these hijackers had. All 3 hijackers have escaped custody and as of 2019 all 3 are still out there.
Disturbing scene for me...this was actually based on a hijacking (and execution of an American serviceman) that really happened in 1985. I think his name was Robert Stethem. I always wondered what his family thought of this movie and that this was portrayed this way. I pray everything is ok with them
Scott Ross really ?? I would love to know more about this
Mr Aviator Boii yes....Google TWA flight 847...was a hijack in June 1985...the first half of this movie is based almost primarily on that...(the second half is an American action movie revenge fantasy)...the terrorists beat and executed a Navy diver named Robert Stethem
@@scottross4374 has this right. If you read the real life story of this hijacking (there was even a newspaper photograph of the pilot in the cockpit at gunpoint, just like you see in this movie) there is a point where Delta Force actually was dispatched for a rescue attempt, which ultimately became impossible.
I have, over the years, become opposed to using victims of incidents like this for political gain (domestically or internationally).
It is factual that the U.S. government and Hollywood sometimes work together to "promote" U.S. interests. This fact is documented in UA-cam videos and on U.S. government websites.
I hope that they are careful in how they approach this, going forward.
Also to further elaborate on Scott's comment:
The opening scene of this movie which depicts the Desert One incident? Same problem. The bodies of U.S. service members got left behind in that incident, photographed by the press the next day, and are now memorialized with the pictures of their charred bodies on the internet.
I do not find that appropriate, and the mostly "positive" outcome of that incident spun by this movie can be alarming if not well managed.
Carrying your buddy out of what would have been an incident that would have ended his life is the right thing to do.
This movie rewrites the incident to make it seem as if that is what happened.
The reality was that Operation Eagle Claw was a demonstration of the problems with everything from bad diplomacy to bad military planning.
It is important to know that when you watch this movie. I hate terrorism, but trying to cover over a screwup with a "revenge fantasy", as Scott properly identifies it, is not the way to comfort the public.
Its crazy that this was based on a hijacking that actually happened.
love how the little car with the siren is going past them in a middle of a gun fight
Purtroppo non ha potuto fare diversamente l'ha detto Colonnello Alexander
Bastardata anche fare esplodere autocisterna
"Thanks you for uploading delta force, I really enjoy this program!"
That truck was full of essence. Chuck Norris's essence.
😂😂😂😂
Carburante da fare pagare a loro ai terroristi
French for 'gasoline'.
Rest in peace sailor. He is the fictionalized character killed, who is also a Navy Diver.
Remember when I saw this film in 86 was still a kid had tears im my eyes for that poor fellow lol
Was going through the comments section they recon this really happened to a real American heroe well then my tears wasn't for nothing after all RIP soldier
i watched when i was a kid too in 1987 here in Brazil , one of the best films i watched . Good old times
That guy throwing up a peace sign was a premonition that he will be soon resting in peace..(by Chuck Norris)../o/😂
One hijacker is like "We just killed an American! *Peace sign* "
in this case its for "victory"
I think its meant to be "we are outta here. peace out"
Peace out
thanks alot...Chuck 😂
Thought I was the only one who saw that
robert dean sthant american navy hero always!
Stethem.
Great film.
Robert Forster was brilliant in this movie. i know its him playing the terrorist but i cant see him
Robert Forester deserved best supporting Oscar. Very convincing as the lead Palestinian terrorist.

CTFU 2:02 gets me every time LMAO
I hope you know that sign originally meant "victory" before hippies decided to use it as a peace sign.
Michael no I didn't know that, wow well times sure have changed
William Leveni everytime
Originally the Churchill victory sign
That poor soldier just showing his patriotism and love for his American freedom. Glad these terrorists suffered a worse fate thanks to the Delta Force!!!!
Delta Force are Army, not Marines. And they do have some of these vehicles.
These victim from the Navy diver look a little resemblance of Charlie Sheen face.
Rather Die than take off if I was the Pilot!!

What was the point of the siren
It ruined the whole rescue plan
It was to get the attention of the 3 sessions right before they were to storm the plane.
The sections turned their radios off, that’s why Alexander had to race out there to get their attention.
who plays this marine guys
Charles Floye
He's changes his name
Yeah. I read that. The actress that plays the young nun is Kim Delaney. She and Charles were married at the time this movie was made.
@@TheGemini35
Charles (Flohe) Grant!!
Once an actor on Daytime Soaps, who in my opinion SHOULD AND COULD HAVE BEEN HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL ON PRIMETIME TV today if he was given the opportunity.
Back in the day with no political correctness when Hollywood had the balls.
Hated every bit of this character. The other two wanted to end it early and he wanted to play pacifist.
It was understandable though, they both had hand grenades, as soon as one realised the other was down, they could pull the pin and there goes the whole aeroplane and everyone in it. Sometimes it doesn’t pay to try and be the hero.
Joe Biden's fav scene.
So true !
No, Trump's!
Obama’s favorite scene
I thought you mentioned this for the other clip.
Sure indeed!
