At the start of this song when Andre takes a breath and says "okay, here we go" says so much about what was going on with him mentally and musically. Fuck yeah. You go Outkast. "And the whole world loves it when you make that sound" Music has changed over the years. It's just different now, not sayin' it's bad, just different. I miss the old rap and hip hop....from and old ass 70's baby!
You said best yourself! But what we really "miss" is the "time". A particular music/song takes us back to that "time". I think people should hear music like seeing a picture. Its good the we can still find joy in the genuine artistry of new while being able to fondly reminisce on the old as often as we like. I think Outkast is exceptional for the way they progressed artisically while never selling out. However...I never get tired of 1994 & 1996
+Eric Casarez There is still similar songs coming out its hard when it comes to the older vibes and sounds, you have to really search for it but its still around try guys like "Childish Gambino" "Chance the Rapper"... "Action Bronson-Baby Blue" is an awesome track kind of reminds me of outkast and "Pharaoh Monch-Stand Your Ground" is pretty cool, sounds like it could be a film theme tune!
+Josh River you wanna hear new old shit then i recommend the album time astonishing by L'orange. the whole albums on you tube. it's fantastic new old sounding shit. the real deal.

"Now even the black box holds the fate, clueless like Scooby and Shaggy before commercial break" These guys weren't following any trends and didn't give two fucks about being mainstream, that's one of the reasons I love their music.
+Jake Kuczeruk +jay foreman They recorded a different track for Scooby Doo, Land of a Million Drums, featuring Killer Mike but this wasn't it this is just another fantastic Oukast/Killer Mike collaboration.
right, they were talking about the state of America after sep 11th shout out to the people at the airport that got laid off, turn on the tv everything is looking dismal-medicine cabinet pepto bismol- he's sick to his stomach, not even the black box hold the fate, the republican and democratic candidate? the whole world loves it when you sing the blues, the whole world loves it when you're in the news? the whole world was showing "sympathy" for America don't believe me it was released November 2001. What was going on at that time?
When I first heard the chorus, It has me thinking so deeply until this day. That's the brilliance of Outkast, The beat has you so hypnotized it is unlikely you will find the true meaning of the song when you first hear it. It leaves you there repeating the song over and over. And even then, the song seems to have multiple meanings.
OutKast made subliminal songs. I assume you know what that means already, this is one of them. You have to do detective work to find the true meaning. I am just restating what I previously said but I will stick to it and make it simpler.
M!st3rAz i wasnt asking to start an argument, was just asking because i do know theres tons of subliminal messages in songs, i was just trying to poke your brain to see which theory youd heard or came up with, thats all.

I miss these guys like crazy. They just made the music industry better.
Damn man these songs bring back memories of a better time. Music will never be the same. Outkast changed music back in the early 2000s. Make a comeback Outkast, you can kill it again now.
Outkast made some of the greatest music in the history of music, this is one of the many Gems 💎 The Whole World 🌎 🎵🎶🎤
Killer Mike killed it...
Elise Grace anyone who knows how verses are supposed to be put together knows mikes verse is a perfect way to have a feature. Ride the beat, spit a hot16 that flows nicely with the original artists verse that follows yours
Yessssssss😍😍😍
Just notice that's how rappers these days sound like now
@@kosmossee4596 Rappers now sound like shit.
If you don't find God in your life Heaven and Earth God planted the seed on Earth guilt yourself a chance to love
Big boi is SO underrated.
Not no more also Killer Mike was but not no more!
Absolutely the greatest Duo in Hip Hop history!!!!
At the start of this song when Andre takes a breath and says "okay, here we go" says so much about what was going on with him mentally and musically. He knows this is some more in depth song writing not exactly hip hop stuff he is about to hit you with, at the same time he sounds like he has that weight on his chest he needs to get off. Just that one little sentence, gives me goosebumps every time.
Killer Mike's part was always my favorite part even when I didn't know who he was. He killed this!
I will never get over killer mike's verse
he still aint slowed down, and mad love for him getting 3 stacks to do a verse in 2023
@@smokegrapes word. he a business man too
@@mikec.4519 an an activist, voice actor(for a random show on adult swim. I was in Atlanta ironically when my buddy from cali where i live sent me that new track “scientists and engineers” had it on repeat
@@smokegrapes right! that's true. much respect to him
@@mikec.4519 was gonna post something like you said, but just had to give it a boost. You can even see outkast in the videos reaction to his verse, it’s clear they thought the same way we do. Have a blessed day my friend 🙏
Fun fact, killer Mike said this was his first official song.
His first song won him a Grammy! Respect bro!
love this song
Can't be. He appeared on Snappin and Trappim on Stankonia
He said that on a Vlad interview
This could have been recorded first. Hip Hop can have some really weird timelines
Reagan came out before
"Walk on a sunny day, when it's raining inside and you're all alone"
Who else but a genius thinks of things like this??
Freehardy good lookin out. I'll definitely check it out. Always looking for new music
Grown ass man still not over their shitty nostalgia smh
This is song that introduced the world to Killer Mike, classic verse with a great group.
It don't hit different lol. It hits the same spots as it did when it first came out. My personal favorite OutKast song. I appreciate y'all. Thank yall for the music.
Musical Art! There is nothing like Outcast! Give them their flowers! 2024!
OutKast is and will always be classic but Andre 3000 was on a other level.
no
Don’t give luscious left foot the short end of the stick, both are GOATs.
I used to think that, until they went solo. Big Boi runs circles around Andre.
@@jonnypropaganda I hear you but they are so different to where it does not feel realistic to even compare them. Together they were fire.
I think they're just trying to agree with the JBP. Especially, considering Kanye's new leak that features him.
There will never be such a beautiful, chaotic, magical group like Outkast. These dudes styles shouldn’t have worked together but it did. Big boi doesn’t get enough flowers.
Outkast is up there with wutang in 2021
2018! Shit still banging hard!
Jason Walton this will NEVER DIE
Jason Walton what’s the song they do that someone talks?
Jason Walton heck yeah
ISTG Broh 😂💯🔥🔥
True bruh shit take me back
This man Andre made a new phrase while using a classic phrase. Whatever floats your boat (classic phrase) or finds you lost remote (new phrase) 🤯
I think this song has aged so well, and very relevant to current times
Killer mike has won Grammys tonight. Who would have ever predicted this when the song dropped. Its now aged even more gracefully
@@FunkoPopBoxinghe deserves it the south has spoken andre told that years ago !!.

Era of rap will always be the best
I don't think Big Boy gets enough respect for his lyrics
big boi doesn't get enough respect for what he brought to outcast.
you are cool
Even 3k said big boi is better than him.
ramonce09's stash real facts but Dre was a more conscious. But big boi was definitely lyrical. If that make sense.
*Boi 😉💖
It was on my spirit to play this song this grand rising. From A Atlien “83” forever love OutKast
Such a sad and eerie atmosphere this song brings especially the chorus. Would love jordan peele to use the chorus in another horror movie.
Now that you've said it...Reducing the playback makes the song sound so much creepier....Jordan Peele should us this in his next movie....
Been thinking about OutKast a lot lately and this song popped in my head so had to hear it. OutKast is def in my top 10 if not top 5. 3k def light years ahead of his time. A true artist. Killer Mike & Big Boi bars cold and the video is beautiful. I’m 40 and OutKast was the soundtrack to some of the best yrs of my life. I feel bad for the kids today… this is music u can feel (call me an old head all you want)
Yeesssss! I’m going through that now! I done went back to my childhood and started downloading Outkast tracks left and right. I was listening to Southernplayalisticadilacmusic yesterday! Outkast is missed! They need to be honored. They deserve their flowers NOW!
Not an old head at all , I'm 26 and been bumping outkast since I was about 14. They are timeless
Pretty sure i just ran into Andre 3000 at Walgreens and he looked at me and said "whatsup chief" At the time i was too in shock and noticed he was with his son so i didn't want to go crazy or anything but if he can read this I just wanted to let him know he made my Life. Thank you for being you Andre.
Bubba Reppas lying
Bubba Reppas my girl saw him and Erika baydu at her restaurant twice
Mikes verse goes so goddamn hard
Here it is 2023 and I'm still playin this song!!! No one compared to them!!!
Outkast is hands down the best musical group.

I was like 12 years old when i first heard this in middle school lol My friends from my after school program played this song over and over to point we all couldn’t stop listening to it lmao It was a fun moment. Also my time hearing the Outkast Group that day.
What are the odds your comment is so recent 😂😂
Same but me and my friends heard It together...to think of it I think that’s the reason we friends
You old old
my friends and i used to love this song in high school. Outkast was the shit back then
@@pariah_carey same. I was 16 or 17 when I first heard this song
"Now even the black box holds the fate, clueless like Scooby and Shaggy before commercial break" These guys weren't following any trends and didn't give two fucks about being mainstream, that's one of the reasons I love their music.
+jay foreman It's kind of why they were called Outkast. These are metaphors that just fly past through people over their heads though. Fer Sure.
+Jake Kuczeruk +jay foreman They recorded a different track for Scooby Doo, Land of a Million Drums, featuring Killer Mike but this wasn't it this is just another fantastic Oukast/Killer Mike collaboration.
+Jake Kuczeruk this wasn't the song for the scooby doo soundtrack. this song came out 1 year before the movie
right, they were talking about the state of America after sep 11th shout out to the people at the airport that got laid off, turn on the tv everything is looking dismal-medicine cabinet pepto bismol- he's sick to his stomach, not even the black box hold the fate, the republican and democratic candidate? the whole world loves it when you sing the blues, the whole world loves it when you're in the news? the whole world was showing "sympathy" for America don't believe me it was released November 2001. What was going on at that time?
Allison Wonderland laid off airport people was a shout to Hartsfield employees at the time but that was some atl shit
Outkast are ahead of their times breh, honestly I never get tired of them
When I first heard the chorus, It has me thinking so deeply until this day. That's the brilliance of Outkast, The beat has you so hypnotized it is unlikely you will find the true meaning of the song when you first hear it. It leaves you there repeating the song over and over. And even then, the song seems to have multiple meanings.
M!st3rAz please elaborate.
@@andrebelcher9096 Sorry if I sounded agressive
Most of their songs are multi-layered deep.
Ain't this song the truth or what !! Sing along for all who can relate.
This used to be so crazy
There used to be so much artistry in music these young folk don’t know
They just don’t know how to give a message either
Still slaps 🔥
We need OutkKast back!
