I have my grandpa’s original one from World War II
Nice video. The strap for the Springfield clips actually is meant to run up between the two clips, and fold over to only enclose the front clip of the two. This is so the rifleman could grab the rear clip for reloading, without the front clip coming out with it and falling on the ground. Then the strap could be unsnapped when the other clip is needed. You might find that with the strap only going around one clip, snapping it doesn’t cause the stress on the bottom as you describe in the video.
I love your videos 🙌🏼
The bumps you speak off in the keepers I believe is so you can adjust easier due to the eyelets blocking them.
I’ve never understood the different pistol belts and all the different shades of khaki and OD the came in :/
Always thought the pistol belt went with the pouches good to know I dont have to spend a lot of money on 2 belts
Cool
Early ww2 belts didnt have those webs on the buckles
Nice vid. Btw Medics also would wear the M36 pistol belt.
Hello I have a question, as with all cotton web belts that I have had, or seen over the years,
the cotton always seems to fray around the Eyelets, and I was just wondering why this happens,
and if you ever seen this yourself? I was once told that it was a bad design by the U.S. army in the material the they decided to use.
Hi!, Yeah it is definitely pretty common, not really a flaw on the us armys design with it but just because of the material that these pistol and cartridge belts are made of is canvas and it is not as tightly woven as things such as fabric and so it frays easier at cut edges, so when the eyelets are put it, it just happens from use, and the eyelets never really end up falling out anyways so I wouldn't worry it you are!
@@2ND-ID-REENACTOR1944 Thank You!👍
@@johnfranta6937 no problem man!
ahhhh this is the one they used in sigma war 2 right?
Question, can M1 garand pouches fit/go on a pistol belt
Yes they do!
The date for the ww1 one is on the inner strap
It’s not there, it’s pre 1918 before 1918 they didn’t have stamped dates
@@johnpedulla8210 ok thank you and I am one of your followers on tick tock
@@johnpedulla8210 I heard accounts that privates used m1 carbines so would it be ok if a 16 yr old uses a m1 carbine
@Pir Reb yes I did more research and found that not true
