i'm going to try and contribute to this conversation, don't reply if you don't like well, i agree that v. kei is in itself a genre of music and even though nightmare, an cafe and all the other bands that people refer to as visual kei to belong to that genre. One probable reason is because they wanted visual kei to be interpreted in different ways by different people, thus the different mix of sounds and music seen by all visual kei bands.
actually yes it can. it can have those influences but thats not what makes it v rock . there is a certain sound and style its has that makes distinguishable its not just a look like shock rock. it is a genre in and of itself.
This song is AMAZING I just recently found out about them o.o I've been listening to jrock for all my life, but I guess since my move to America I've lost touch with lots of bands. Still, I love them!!!! They're beauty and amazing music is the reason to appreciate jRock

What exactly is musical relation between Klaha era Malice Mizer and An Cafe? If what you are saying is true, you should be able to find something of a relatively high complexity.
