I am glad for you that you got the replacement. That one is really gorgeous and it looks firm and healthy 👌💖
Thank you, Fernanda. Yes, I am really pleased with my replacement. Otherwise it would just have been too heartbreaking.
RIP Jessy1 and so sorry Rachel, I'm sure you will have better luck with
Jesii2 👍
Great video thanks 😀
Thank you for watching and have a great evening.
Who's the proud Mama!!!
And here's to a long and healthy life for Jessie II.🥂
Thank you
Sorry to hear about JessieOG - I saw that video back when you got it and I can say without a doubt your face was the epitome of joy. That said, Jessie deux is not as big, but it is so amazing from top to bottom! And the look on your face is every bit as joyful. Happy growing!
Thank you so much! It's nice to feel such great support.
hi mate, i see you like to grow interesting plants
I have fresh seeds from a tree that would make you very happy, it is a Mexican avocado, resistant to cold, up to -8 degrees and gives a delicious fruit with a better flavor than Hass avocado
and therefore it could be grown in many areas of your island, wouldn't you like to have some good avocado fruits from your own garden every day?
Well, if so, now it is possible, I am in the north of Spain, talk to me and I will give you more information
a greeting
OK, so I guess this here is the update on Jesse I. Any update on Jesse II???
There have been lots of updates on Jesse 11. They are usually covered in the greenhouse tours. The September greenhouse tour shows her in the background...

Happy to hear someone so excited about plants, especially ibervillae. It grows wild from where I am from and ive been trying to grow some friends from seed.
I adore my ibervillea and how lucky are you to have it growing wild near you! I found out this summer that my plant is female, from the flowers and attempted swelling of fruit. I wish you all the best in growing this beauty from seed.
Thank you for sharing. You have opened my eyes to another cool plant.
I am glad. Caudex plants are just amazing!!! I hope you will try some out.
Happy that you got that new healthy plant. :)
Thank you. Me too.
I hope the new Jessy will grow big and fat for you and will be even bigger than the first one!!! Your fingers subconscious kept checking growth point time to time... :D poor you, traumatized by first experience. All will be great this time!!!
Haha. You are right, Liga. I am a bit paranoid about it now. Thank you and have a great day.
I wonder would dragons blood have helped the first Jessie the ? I hope your new Jessie does wonderful things for you!! Congratulations on a great plant Rachel!!
Thank you, Beverley. I am just glad to have this episode behind me now.
Good to know, I’ve been trying to get rid of mine because they are hard to kill here in Texas. I will have more respect for them now.
Kill? Oh no!
What’s the exact reason of previous plant not survived unless u know that it’s risky to have another one, isn’t it?
What's the exact reason for what? I have no idea what you are asking me.
poor Jessy (or is it Jessie?). May Jessy Deuxième live a long and rot free life.
Oh yeah!
Are you single / any lovely single garden women out there? 😂😘😛
😂😂😂
Love to see your bamboo aureosulcata areocalis again please? ❤😊
I'll see what I can do!
My 1st thought: "Why is Rachel holding an Elephant "Pie"? :)
I don't know what an elephant pie is but it seems like a good description 😂
@@GardeningatDouentza "Elephant Pie" is like BIG "Cow Pie" :)
Sad she didn’t make it.
Hope Jessie 2 is well 🤞
Check her out in this recent video

Hi. I’ve kept one for a few years now and you are right , they are temperamental. But I’ve learnt a few things myself because of a lack of care information. I wake mine up in the spring with a very high humidity in a heated propagator with grow light. I’ve found when growing they like it humid. If they are happy they can put on an inch a day. When I first got it I woke it up and put it in greenhouse and it hated it as it was too dry and instantly went pale and stopped growing. So I brought it inside again in a place where I can control the humidity and it’s doing fine. When they go sleep keep them dry until spring then wake them up with warmth and humidity. I would keep them Kool and dry in winter but not too cold.
Thank you for that very useful information. My plant is indoors since I got it and has remained in growth over winter (You can see it in my recent 'top 5 succuelents' video). Good tip about the humidity.
@@GardeningatDouentza maybe I am wrong but I’ve gave mine a dormancy period over the winter I reduced the watering until the leaves shrivelled and died then pretty much kept it Kool and dry until spring. I’m only guessing about the dormancy but I think they would need one. It’s like growing a daffodil year after year without a dormancy would eventually exhaust the plant. So I give mine a dry Kool dormant period over winter to try and replicate the two seasons of Mexico. Kind regards
@@mikiethespike I think you are right. Not allowing carnivorous pitcher plants or Venus fly traps to go dormant, for example, exhausts them and they die in a few years. This plant came to me last summer without leaves so I felt that once they grew I shouldn't try to make the plant go dormant so quickly. I'll keep it cooler this autumn to encourage dormancy. I hope I can encourage it to grow well this summer.
@@GardeningatDouentza yes some carnivorous plants can go 4 years without a dormancy. But I doubt we could get a daffodil to bloom twice without a dormant period. I have a few rare finds without much care information so I learn about the conditions where they are found. I think that works for me . Also when receiving a plant in mail . I think it helps to place it where it’s going to live and hold off the water for a week just to allow it to climatize and come out of shock. I think if u water it in shock the shock process just keeps repeating itself.I hope you do verry well with this one. I’ve already watched every video about these beautiful gourd vines . And yours is the best of the few out there🤟
Sono triste riguardo a Jessica
Anchi'io sono molto triste ma felice per il nuovo.
Very sorry to hear about Jessie no1 Rachel🥺
It must have been very stressful having to perform each surgery and then to discover that there still wasn't any improvement.
Like you I have a very good feeling about Jessie no2 😊
Best of luck with her and do keep us posted on how she's doing 😊
Thanks, Maureen. Fingers and toes crossed!
RIP Jessie );
😔
She's a beauty, Rachel! I have all the faith in the world that you are going to make Jessie 2.0 Thrive! Can't wait to watch her/him grow! 😍🐈
Fingers and toes crossed!
The same thing happened last fall with one of my Cissus tuberosa plants. Luckily I was able to save most of it and I had also taken some cuttings previously, so it wasn't lost, but that's always a big problem with a plant you have gotten attached to.
So sorry to hear about your beautiful cissus but I am glad you managed to save it. You must have quite the collection? Anyway, may both our caudices live long and rot-free.
You make me smile, you are so excited.
