Fuel is extra paid out of your damage deposit; for reference we normally cruise between 1500 - 2000 rpm and find fuel cost averages $20/hour of cruising.

Thanks for your comments, always good to hear from fellow NB'ers. I'm sure you will enjoy houseboat. We plan on hitting New Orleans in the fall (managed to find flights in November out of Bangor for $780 cnd all in) then back to Cuba in the spring - going to hit up Santa Maria this time around, been many times and is our favorite location.

Thanks so much for watching. Mactaquac is on the East Coast of Canada in the Province of New Brunswick. This is only about 3 hrs north/east of Bangor, ME up the I-95 to the border crossing at Houlton, and with your strong dollar the rental costs would be much less in USD.

Thanks for the comment, I certainly appreciate it is not cheap. However, to fairly put it into perspective; cost for 4 nights was split across 3 couples so approx $1000 per couple or $250/night, we certainly could have selected a smaller boat or invited more friends to lower that cost. A large enough AirBNB on the Upper Saint John River ranges from $350-$680/night during summer months and a B&B will cost around $900 for four nights/per couple. So the cost is comparable to lodging rates but you get the added bonus of scenery, privacy and mobility.
