This was the explanatory video I was looking for. Now to shop for the best deal!
Apparently the best deal is from r2 Handels GmbH. GP5 grips on the way to Canada!
I have used this GP1 grips for almost 8 years in both XC and now trail MTB. Absolutely the best grips I have ever owned, extremely comfortable in all conditions, from racing XC to the long levees in S Florida. Never again do I end up with sore hands or wrists as I used to with almost every other grips
Just picked up the bio-cork grips. They are awesome! Now to decide which bar ends to get.
Thank you, the setup portion was very helpful. I need to adjust my GC Biocork grips accordingly now, rotate upwards.
This is the information I looking for! Thank you so much
Can you recommend a solution whereby my left handlebar has a twister front suspension lockout on the inside, closest to stem, while the right is standard width? Seems I would need two different lengths. Thoughts?
I have a SID with a grip lockout on the left so I'm looking for the same solution. If I knew how wide the Gripshift version was I might consider that, otherwise it seems I'd need to buy two sets of grips to get the combo needed.
Which has the more dampening the cork or the regular one?
Thank you for your question here. We never tested that before so far, but the GP1 Evo BioKork combines ergonomics, function, feel and sustainability.
Therefore the grip body is made of 40% organic cork grown in Portugal and meets strict ecological guidelines. The grip feel on the handlebars with the natural material is excellent. From a personal POV I would say the Biokork compound is grippier and has slightly more rebound whereas our Ergon compound seems slightly softer.
Can gp1 corkaterial be used on carbon handle?
For sure is also the cork based GP series good to mount it on carbonfibre handle bars.
Info your information here: The cork material itself doesn't touch the bars as there's an inner core material in between. 💡
"Glove size 8.5 and smaller should take size S, and glove size 8.5 and larger should take size L?" So if one has 8.5, which is it?
These are the suggestions from our side. Now its up to you, if you prefer thinner grips with a direct feel choose Size S, If you like more damping choose Size L. There are people with small hands, who prefer thicker grips but also people with big hands who like thin grips. Try to get a touch on both and then you should be easy able to decide ;)
@@ErgonBike Thank you - of course it’s a matter of taste, have ordered both to try!
These grips help but do not completely solve the problem with numbness from carpal tunnel.
Hey John, nice to hear that the grips already helped to minimize the problem. Have you also tried to slighty adjust the angle of the grips? Often also the Height or the Backsweep of the handlebar is not optimal adjusted to your body, you could also try that.
@@ErgonBike I will do that. I have these grips on 3 ebikes and one road bike. It occurs to me that not once has any of the bike stores given any input on adjustment of the grips. Maybe ergon should recommend more assistance rather than the local bike stores just putting them on. Thank you.
如果是用大角度的后掠车把,很不幸这种设计多此一举,会让你的腕部、大拇指根部更疼。所谓的支撑再我看来完全就是噱头没卵用。
Thank you for your individual feedback here, but your expertise isn't right so far. Medical studies also prove this.
My lbs recommended me the gp1 wow they have transformed my riding no more hand pain or numbness on long rides.
