no he hasn't lost his skills. This song is extremely hard to do in this style. and I think he did a great job. love the artwork of all the characters. Even in that swimsuit I still cant tell if Miko is a girl.

I love the contrast between Byakuren's theme and Miko's. In byakuren's everyone is there because she saved them in one way or another, and here everyone is just for the funnies.

Winn's art style has gotten really awesome over time compared to the first few EWI video there were so long ago. Practice can do that I suppose. ^^;
The EWI-Miko Sword was some very good idea.

my understanding is that it started because he couldn't draw complex clothes but became his fetish over time

@suka nekoto miko is not "off-key" she is just hitting extra notes intentionally, to add some effect to the melody. It's an effect that a lot of wind instrument players use. I don't rememer Winn using this effect before in the touhou ewi videos, but I think it sounds pretty good on this song. It just shows that he is getting more advanced not only with his art, but with his ewi playin skills.

In the early EWIs the animator wasn't really good at clothing so he put on simple swimsuits now he runs it as a little gag

TrueAd is a progressive that starts out calm and subtle, but grow more and more intense as the battle peaks, so when it hit its climax, the sharp contrast between the all out intensity of its peak, and the calm subtle starting grace would produce an even more epic feeling than standard all out flatly epic
It is an epic song that emphasize on grace, and those people misses that.

Please don't pass around your subjective opinion as a fact. There are as much people who think True Administrator as a wonderfully composed theme as those who loathe it. Only the one who blindly rejects new changes are the one who loudmouth-edly complain all over the song's comment section (and those comments are met with an overwhelming negative responds, that's a fact).
Music is subjective, and True Administrator is as fine as any other bosses tunes. Period.
Well, nostalgia to them because most Touhou fan start their pilgrimage at Touhou 06 (and not the PC-98 version)
In a recent poll, EoSD got the highest percentage for people who have played it, then followed by 7, then 8, then 9, then... (etc.)
PC98 wasn't high
So because most people only know Touhou through Touhou 6/ start from Touhou 6 and works forward/ only played Touhou 6 and know the rest from other sources; naturally, those 2 songs would most likely be ranked first (& char popularity bias)

The point that I tried to make is, when a new song come out, most would compare it to the old songs, and complain if it is different.
Familiarity and nostalgia goggle are reasons why Septette and U.N Owen just got 1st&2nd place in the 2013 poll again. I am sure if song like TrueAd was to released first, it would be up there as well
(and TrueAd isn't even within my top fav Touhou tunes)

It's Touhou. The answer to that question should be obvious
it's a running gag. When the guy started he wasn't very good at making complicated outfits, so he just stuffed to touhou girls in school swimsuits.
Now he's better but people liked the swimsuit gag so he kinda stuck with it.
Because your theme is awesome, and It'd be great to see you play it. You're probably thinking i just want to see you in swimsuit or something, but I don't really care about that, I'm here for the music.
Technically she is addressed in the Gensokyo world as a re-incarnate... So it doesn't matter that she was Male in her past life, she' is "Purely Female" now... (Or at the very least that's how ZUN try's to put a spin on it)
Unfortunately it's because of this that it would seem the mass majority of her appearance's in fan works have her ether hinted as or down right displayed as a "Trap" in one form or another... @_@,
