    I see you spoke about the polo giving issues... whats the common issues engine wise? And does it occur when tuned or even when stock?

    • @carcrazyguysa4059

      Firstly thanks for the compliment, it means a lot to know that there are people who actually like my vids🙂
      A vid on the 6R will come soon!
      My car was stock and this car has issues regardless whether its tuned or not. I was fairly lucky that I didn't have any catastrophic issues with my car but the fear of issues was too strong hence I traded for a 2.0
      My issues were R25k for thr clutch R8k for High Pressure Fuel Pump, R1.5k for Coil Packs constantly going. My car was at VW for repair atleast once every 6 months.
      I loved this car to death but if you buying one best having deep pockets for catastrophic failure. It has to be one of the most raw and enjoyable cars I have owned, I would have never sold it but a person needs to be realistic about the pocket. The problem with this car is that the engine was carrying way to much power and torque for its size, not to mention complexity due to its twin charged design.
      I was still lucky to not deal with certain common issue such as mechatronics failure, piston rings blowing, DSG failure, timing chain issues.

    I see you there checking your Oil Temp before dusting the quantum 😂😂😂

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  2 роки тому

      🤣🤣 Its a habit of mine, I always make sure my oil temp is high enough before I thrash my car. 😅 It helps extend engine life. Never ever drive your car hard before the oil temp is at a high enough operating temp.👍
      Btw the Quantums always get left behind when a GTI is around 😁

      @@carcrazyguysa4059 Hi Bro... Not sure if you're gonna see this in time.. I'm taking in my Polo 1.4 GTi ®DSG for a Decat Downpipe + Res Delete at an Exhaust Shop tomorrow morning, they got great reviews online. Now the issue is I suggested that they take out the Second/Last Resonator... They said it's gonna sound sh*t... Best option per their advice is to remove the First resonator... Would this be the correct option for the 1.4 GTi ®DSG? All I want is better sound than the stock nonsense I have 😔

      @@Sly_212 When I had my 1.4 I only ever tried that one setup i.e. Decat downplpe and center box/res delete. I was absolutely in love with that setup. I really miss that raw sound of the 1.4! 😥 wish I could buy that car back sometimes it was such a love hate relationship. So yes I would say they are right decat + res delete is the best option but. Deleting your muffler will create a lot of drone though I never tried that. On my current 2.0TSI its the opposite I prefer a back box delete and decat makes me wonder what that would have sounded like on the 1.4 There are cons to deleting that final muffler, very loud cold start, drone. My advice don't delete your muffler!

    Hey bro, with this setup, when you switch to Sport mode, does the exhaust still get louder than what it is in normal Drive, or does it sound the same for both?

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  3 роки тому +2

      The factory map is such that in Sport mode it revs higher before changing gear, not much difference in sport mode. When I had this setup I preffered normal Drive mode especially manual gear changes because the DSG farts were more pronounced. In sport mode there arent really much DSG farts. Its a very nice setup for daily driving not too loud not too soft.

      @@carcrazyguysa4059 I sent a message, but not sure if it was the correct account, but what I wanted to ask was;
      On your model, was this setup only a catless downpipe or did you remove the middle resonator as well. I've seen a couple people in Europe saying that they removed the middle res. to make the car a bit louder.
      When the downpipe was installed did you get a check engine light? Reason I ask is because I've seen a few videos saying that you can get a check engine light because of the O2 sensor.
      Which sizes are needed, how much would the entire setup cost and which workshop would you recommend?

    • @carcrazyguysa4059

      @@B1mmerboi You might have used the wrong Insta tag, I didn't receive any requests. Besides you are always welcome to ask on UA-cam. I am more active here anyways.
      On my car I had a catless downpipe + a resonator delete (removed). Its down to personal taste removing your resonator creates more rasp. My suggestion do your downpipe first see how you like it. Then remove your resonator or muffler. On my 2.0 that I have now I found the perfect setup to be catless downpipe + muffler delete leaving the resonator stock in. But the 1.4 is different I never tried to remove my muffler because I just loved the sound with the catless + res delete. PS don't ever go straight pipe tried it on my 2.0 its a bad idea! It creates so much vibration in the car and the sound is just a little crappy! You should always retain either your resonator or muffler never delete both.
      When you do a downpipe you will definitely get a check engine light and your car could go into limp mode! There are two ways to do this, 1. Do a stage 1 tune but that will cost you an extra R5k or 2. Get a Cat Fooler (this is the option I went with) I didn't have the money to tune at the time plus I didn't really want to, the 1.4 is already very temperamental! Doing software might add strain, also because you get gains in power but that DQ200 clutch will rip itself apart as it cant handle more than 250nm of torque. Clutch replacement cost me R25k btw.
      Go with a cat fooler especially if all you want is sound, I never ever got an engine light once using it. I used one on my 1.4 and using one on my 2.0 now so it works!
      In terms of size the pipe itself is 63mm I believe but the flange that connects to the turbo is a bit weird opening, oval shaped.
      The downpipe can't be purchased it needs to be fabricated by an exhaust shop. You are looking at R4 500 roughly for the downpipe + fooler and R650 for the res delete.
      Not sure where you are from but I would highly recommend Powerflow Salt River.
      If you want to save some money I still have my downpipe with res delete and fooler in tip top shape easy bolt one just requires one weld to join to your midpipe selling for R2k.

    How much did it cost to fill the tank ?

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  3 роки тому

      I never filled up my tank to full capacity because it causes the High Pressure Fuel Pump to go which was like a R8k fix at VW. I would fill up R350 a week and it would last me like 250kms on average. My 2.0 honestly is more efficient than the 1.4 which baffles me🤷‍♂️

    I went to power flow and they told me I can’t do just downpipe and exhaust bc the engine light would come on , I have to do software with it too ? Did your 1.4 have software with the downpipe too ?

    • @carcrazyguysa4059
      @carcrazyguysa4059  3 роки тому +1

      What Powerflow did you go to? Because they are clearly misinformed. I had no software on my car because once you tune your car especially the 1.4 you will start to get problems left right and centre, not to mention it might be difficult to sell.
      All you need is a Cat Fooler then you will have no engine light, I ran my car like this for more than a year without issues.
      Where are you from? Because I still have my downpipe and fooler and res delete for sale if you want.
