the manga brushed over this arc really quickly but im loving what the anime is doing and extending it out and giving more emotions to it
Nah it's just confusing watchers on the power scaling. Just breeze through to the next arc pls. This training arc was short in the manga for a reason.

Samee, I feel like this season gives us a chance to feel and empathize for these characters more than that of the manga. Like really understand what the audience and the characters have to loose in the next season, which is really important for a story because I really felt disconnected with some of the characters’ deaths in the manga because we never really got to settle with them for more than 2-3 chapters.

Due to personal issues, the manga author didn't have time to give the characters a deeper story behind them. Literally the manga counterparts for these episodes are like few pages. So happy that the author was given an avenue to put the things she wanted to include. Looking forward to the next episodes! ❤

I heard that the Power gap between these 3 is small, Hashira Top 1 is far away in terms of strength
@@Reviver25the power gap is huge, sanemi outperformed a marked mui while being in his normal state. And obanai has a way better performance in his normal unmarked state than mui in the final arc. Obviously not gonna go into spoilers for you
They did the 1 v 2 cause Muichiro has the mark. The purpose of their training is to develop the mark.
About the fights between the hashira… don’t let the training fool you on the power scaling, especially in these anime only parts
Exactly they dont understand how obanai and especially sanemi are not serious at all here Muichiro is strong with a lot of potential but yeah sanemi is confirmed top 2 and obanai is 3 imo (debatable with giyuu)

this episode got me thinking "wait, why do they have paper airplanes if airplanes don't exist yet". Then i went to search and learned that the "paper one" came 1 thousand years before than the real airplane, but they were not called "airplanes" and were normaly named after birds.
like in brazil (where i live) it was "seagull"
I figured since origami came from Japan paper airplanes would be a given.
also , planes come in japan on 1909. demon slayer is set in taisho era . So there are planes in this world , but still tanjiro shouldnt know about it since he didnt know about trains ,being a mountain boy

You are only saying that obanai is stronger than giyuu cuz obanai did well against muzan but you aren't factoring in what happened before that. Giyuu (along with tanjiro) took on akaza UM3, one of the strongest demons before his fight with muzan. Obanai (along with Mitsuri and yushiro) took on nakime, who is a replacement demon in the UM ranks. Now you ask yourself who is more injured/fatigued before their fight with muzan. If giyuu had been in good shape (just like obanai was) he would have given muzan a though time.

Tanjiro was just able to smell Muzan because he smelled his presence before and he just recognized the same smell in different city. He wasn't able to tell if that presence was a demon or human, he knew the smell from his home after that incident.
So in that case if there's a demon with good hiding skills, he can hide his presence from Tanjiro.

I’m sensing a pattern of Tanjiro, the Hashira he’s training with, and other demon slayer members. We are 2/2 on all of those people having fun TOGETHER during their training. You can see the smiles on Tanjiro and Tengen’s face when everyone else jumped Tengen. The music changed and everything. And obviously the paper airplane scene

The fight wasnt intented to be used as powerscaling, they were sparring and not trying to seriously injure anyone. Dont take it too seriously.
Also, i know you want to know how they rank, just dont listen to 99% of youtubers and fans for rankings, most of them are innacurate and overexxaggerated.
There was no offical ranking given, but there were some mini rankings given in the databooks such as strength and speed, experience. And some statements which can be used.
Most of them are close in power. The only person confirmed to be on a different level is Gyomei.
So any ranking you see that says "no diff", "Low-Mid diff" are all incorrect (unless its comparing Gyomei and the "weakest hashiras")
And the gap between the upper moons is incredibly big (except 6-4).

true. ppl like to powerscale anime characters nmw, but i have to say in Demon Slayer it really doesnt matter, at the end everyone's contributions are needed, even these trainees. no one alive and any group of ppl can defeat Muzan, it has to be everybody.
also no. Himejima is not equal to Upper 1. To be close, toe-to-toe with Zohakuten Hantengu.
Muichiro is still 3rd strongest and I'm not like those internet wannabe scalers i've actually thoroughly scaled characters , analyzed the manga , and its lore for years

The databooks confirmed that Giyuu and Sanemi are roughly equals.
Iguro is faster than Muichiro and more skilled. Muichiro lacks experience. Because of that, he falls below the other pillars. His physique isn't very developed either.
At this point in the series (current Hashira only) it would be:
Gyomei
Sanemi => Giyuu
Iguro => Mitsuri (Mitsuri might be physically stronger and has a faster technique, but she lacks experience and her senses aren't as honed as Iguro's.)
Shinobu => Muichiro. It's hard to say, Muichiro is physically stronger and more skilled, but Shinobu has a much faster attack speed, and has the most power in her technique out of the Hashira (confirmed).
So it's hard to rank Shinobu, she is weaker against demons but she would probably beat Muichiro in a 1v1.

Sanemi definitely the GOAT! He and Giyu are my top 2 based off appearances and personality. (Tengen is at a close third)
when Sanemi( unmarked) will fought kokushibou for sometimes ,then you will understand why Sanemi is the most fan fav hashira.

@@mr.hakai3210 there are many stories where the opponent ,act cocky and got their head chopped off . Akaza was almost gonna die in muzan train arc . Nobody would have cared if he was toying or not ,he would have just died. thats it
There were points when Akaza stops Rengoku’s sword with just his wrist, then technically, he could do the same with any other part of his body, but he was too busy joking around to actually bother giving his all to stop the wounds

However people bring up he is toying with him because of evidence later in the story involving his death compass needle, in which I would have to agree he was buying time becuase he clearly saw potential with him as a demon and wanted to turn him. But I also do agree with you in that it put him in a predicament becuase he didn’t think rengoku would keep going with all the damage done to him but it wasn’t the decapitation that scared Akaza, it was the sun. Rengoku was just trying to hold him there for the sun to come up.

Keep up the good work ❤ Btw: 20:50 Gyomei (Stone Hashira) Is REALLY sick. Personally he is my favorite hashira and you will see why. Pretty sure if my memory serves correctly in one of the hashira interview side story pages, the other hashira agree on gyomei as the strongest hashira. Muichiro Partially in second because of his potential to how strong he can become because of how old he is. (The hashira Strength ranking is not really explained even in the manga so fans base it off of their feats in the manga).
Akaza is the 3rd Upper Moon which means only Koushiro and Douma are above him in terms of the Moon's levels, then there come Muzan.
Rengoku was pretty strong, sadly Akaza can read his fight spirit so he was like an open book because he was quite intense and he fought so openly that Akasa defeated him pretty easily.
According to my brother Tokito is one of the most powerful, the most powerful is the Stone Hashira.
Tokito is strong and has a lot of potential, but with the exception of Gyomei a lot of the hashira are interchangeable insofar as power rankings go
Sanemi, and probably Obanai are stronger than Muichiro on account of having more experience and being older.

Tokito is 13 this season, and next season, he will be 14 years younger than Tanjiro.
next season is not a year difference. Literally the timeline in the show from right now to the end of the show is short.

Yeah I wouldn’t put too much stock in this particular Hashira sparring sesh, this is very much filler. There was a legitimate matchup between Sanemi and Giyu that may be shown, but I suspect a lot of people are going to overvalue what is displayed here and be displeased in future.
That said, Ufotable was magnificent in their work here and adding content to an otherwise TINY section of the manga.
Sanemi and Obanai are way stronger than Tokito. I know he's a descendant of Sun Breathing user, but he's still a kid. Wait until he's grown up. Tokito will surpass them. Beast!

Surpassing Gyomie and Sanemi is literally impossible for Tokito. They both have inhuman feats before joining demon slayer corps and statements to establish them above anyone
Bro i know sanemi and gyomei especially are stronger then gor example tokito but there isnt a huge power gap between them. Or just the hashiras in general. All of them are strong with just some slight differences in power with gyomei being a lot stronger compared to the test

The Mist hashira is good at properties or breath involving Air and Water (which is why he's fast and fluid in movements), but is weak when it comes to fire- which is where power comes from. That's also why his personality is pretty cold- and why he was so sensitive to the rise body temperature when gaining the mark- and also why he was caught off guard with tanjiro's heavy attack in the sparing (since Tanjiro's sun breathing attacks has elements of a lot of fire). This episode was so beautiful, because Tanjiro's whole relationship with this Hashira has been teaching him to feel warmth and be warm with others. The writing in this show is sooo good asfafaf

You can see muichiro quickly dashed to obanai but then changed his speed so suddenly at the exact time obanai swung his stick sword which creates the obscure effect of confusion, which is what mist breathing is all about. Subverts expectations and hides your tactics and movements.

These are the hashiras ranking according to the theory of breathing techniques :-
1. Stone
2. Flame, Water, Wind
3. Serpent
4. Mist
5. Love, Sound
6. Flower,
7. Insect
Flame, water, Wind, Stone and Thunder the are the fundamental breathings which are directly derived from the Sun and The fundamental breathing users are considered strongest among hashiras. More the branches from more they get weaker, rest of the breathings are derived from the fundamental breathings and they are weaker than those fundamentals.

As Tengen said, the mist and stone Hashira are up there! And i know most put the love Hashira down the list, but The author said she is the fastest of them all (Hashiras only) and not talking about her natural strenght! Aside from the Mist Hashira, the stone Hashira, i think the ranking depends on how much we connect with the others! Not talking about Zenitsu, Tanjiro and any non hashira heros!

Wind hashira is the 2nd strongest hashira, it looks like muichiro equal to him because the 7th form he used to kill upper 5 was his original form which no previous mist hashira knew about and muichiro has the most potential to grow out of other hashira (except giyome the stone hashira because he is in his peak )

10:02 I personally would not take the hashira sparring as the indicator of their power level as it is actually a training where they want to sharpen their skills and improve their techniques/strategies instead of actually winning it. Apart from the ones that they mention themselves, for instance, the strongest hashira will be revealed in this season (although I guess you two already know about this either accidentally or not as spoiler is everywhere).
It was already said in the first ep of this season.

10:27 Yes, after all he is the youngest Hashira... He became one when he was 11 and now he's 14... Tanjiro is 16 if I'm not mistaken.
Tanjiro was 14 when the show began + 2 years in training, so 16 after final selection. So he is now closer to 17.
-edit- I had to google it, but he was 13 when the manga began and 16 when the manga ended.

There's no "shit will going down right about now!" thing, the entire season is as it called, the hashira training arc.
Ignore the powerscalers in the comments, they don't seem to realize that fighting humans and fighting demons is way different.
There is no official ranking of general strength (not just physical) for the Hashira, but most of them are really close in power, except for Gyomei who's on a whole other level. Sanemi and Obanai are more effective when fighting demons and have more experience, so as Slayers, they're probably above Tokito.
However, when it comes to fighting other humans, Muichiro is probably one of the best as his breathing style is really annoying to fight.
tl;dr: Powerscaling is dumb. All Hashira are really close in power except for Gyomei who's much stronger. Fighting demons =/= Fighting humans.
Actually, it's impressively intelligent for Ubuyashiki Kagaya to invite Tamayo, it will be an essential point to counter Muzan in the final battle. Otherwise, I am afraid all Hashira may got killed.
The fight between upper 6 and Tengen was so crazy cause Tengen was one of the weaker hashira if I’m not mistaken. The power levels were just more matched I guess

Training are just training. Wind is considered the strongest between the 3 hashiras. It isnt a serious fight so it is not an indicative to what they are all capable of. You will see it later what they really are
Wind hashira is crazy strong and there is a reason his training is 2nd to the last
at this point, only Tokito unlocked the mark, so he's leagues stronger than wind and serpent at this point only, coz when they unlock the mark, it will be a different story

Actually I am kinda angry that ufortable nerf Sanemi and Obanai. Especially Saneimi, he is way stronger than Mui. Sanemi fought well against upper moon 1 even without mark but Muichiro ended up having his hand cut off with one sword even though he had mark.

They didn't really nerf him. Him and Gyomie right now are not on the league that we see in ICA. There is a statement where Gyomie and Sanemi used to sparred against each other towards the end of HT and raised each other to new heights.

Gyomei ,the stone hashira is the strongest . It was declared in the manga in the very first scene of hashira training arc .
Rest are the topic of discussion on who is stronger .
Sanemi is considered 2nd most strongest hashira by many .
Obanai is argubaly the 3rd strongest , it is evidently clear but some Giyu fans likes to disagree for no reason at all .
Giyu and Muichiro shares the spot of 4th strongest .
Love hashira is 5th
Rengoku
Tengen .
Shinobu cant be placed here . As she is probably the second most powerful hashira but she aint strong . There is a difference between being strong and being powerful . She can kill any demon except Upper 1 and Muzan ,though her techinque would be different. But if it is about fulfilling the mission no matter how . She has the most chances of success than other hashiras.

i don't think it's possible for the new upper 4 demon to be inside tanjiro's bag, since tanjiro has a great sense of smell. he would've notice it if there's a demon inside his bag. so i think she's just lurking everywhere and comes out only at night time
not true. Tanjiro even specifically states how he couldn't smell nor feel hantengu's presence until he physically seen him and even then he wasn't even sure if he was a demon and only put the dots together when mui immediately charged at him.

One thing I think is jarring about this season is how sniveling and weak the regular demon slayers are. We're meant to believe that these guys passed Final Selection, have been going out on demon slaying assignments, and now for some reason are terrified to face demons, and are even scared to train with wooden swords? Make it make sense.

the purpose of these scenes is to show us the audience how insanely strong the Hashira are in comparison to the regular Demon Slayers, that someone like Tanjirō (who's closer to Hashira level than "regular Slayer level") actually enjoys and can keep up with the training but to others is hell because it's just way above their current level (it's like training in black belt lvl, when you're many belts below, but still better than a civilian or beginner). they're scared of the Hashira, not the demons, like say even someone like Zenitsu still is.
it's also to show us the audience some sort of camaraderie between the Hashira, Tanjirō and the "foot soldiers", that they all together need to do this. that you don't need to be insanely strong to help, that's like the whole point of the Demon Slayer Corp.
also, wooden swords can definitely kll someone xd of course it would be scary to face an opponent that could quite easily end you.

I have one objection to make, Akaza didn't beat Kyojuro, Akaza beat an exhausted Rengoku. The man was going from car 1 to the last one again and again, protecting every passengers from harm, and had to use Gosh knows technique to save them all when the train derailled. He is second physically strongest according to his weight and fastesr in basic running speed none of those has to do with battle conditions.
The fastest in battle is shinobu at using breath techniques and the strongest is gyomei followed by Mitsuri and sanemi in physical strenght

In the previous episode Tengen said if they (the trainees) couldn’t pass his training, they wouldn’t be able to survive Mitsuri & Sanemi’s training. I feel like Tengen implied that based on level of strength these two are at the top (excluding Gyomei because this man is probably on another level) so I believe Muichiro isn’t stronger than Sanemi but watching his fighting style & breathing technique Muichiro might be better at being stealth and fight with strategy ^^
