Hey y'all, Thanks for stopping by. I hope this video helped you in some sort of a way. Check out all the selections you can find on Amazon for saw blade sharpeners with this link.amzn.to/31ESwqs Y'all have a good one, Thanks for watching! And you come back!
In the vid you mentioned that you shouldn't use the Emory wheel with carbide but it seems you used it for the carbide. Is it ok to use the Emory wheel for the carbide too?
I almost bought this machine some years ago. I don't remember why I didn't. Now I am retired and my vision has degraded to the point that I can';t really do woodworking any longer. I have a ton of saw blades but I don't guess I will need to sharpen them now.
Is flexing the blade mount to sharpen the faces the way it works? I thought the stop indicates where each blade tooth should stay while moving the motor towards the gullet. Thanks for reviewing.
You are correct. His method is not correct and will result in inconsistent blade sharpening. His sound method is not exact, the amount of pressure he presses the blade into the diamond sharpener is not consistent but will probably result into a usable blade. But after 1 or 2 more sharpenings the results are probably spread all over. Given the cost of the sharpener I would recommend it certainly for home use & probably 75% of business use. I agree getting the settings correct are tedious but after several uses you can set it up fairly quickly. Just follow the directions & use a little common sense. You'll get 1 to 5 more uses out of each blade & that is a huge savings as well as keeping them out of the landfill.
His method for sharpening the face is no better than this but is still better than throwing most blades away. It will get you 1 or 2 extra uses... ua-cam.com/video/zHtVT-phN5I/v-deo.html
Excellent video ❤. Subbed and liked 👍. I just sharpened my circular saw blade for aluminium (TCT) 10 minutes max to sharpen. About an hour to setup. I just got my sharpener from ebay today. It was quite dull but now it stabs my fingers. Lol 😆. Subbed and liked 👍 cheers from Australia
You need to skip a tooth as you sharpen each part of the tooth, except the sides. The face and the top of the teeth are beveled left and right. The harbor freight instructions are confusing on which wheel to use and your video was also. You stated to use the emery wheel for steel tips only, but you used it on carbide, or the Delta blade only looked like a carbide blade. In which case, nothing I said here is relevant, other than you should skip teeth when sharpening carbide teeth.
After you had done one side why didn't you just take the blade out and flip it over and put it back in to do the other side ? This would have saved you the trouble of setting all up again. just a thought. great vid by the way. thinking of gtting one of these myself. Thankyou for the effort to show how its done. Bri
I have watched your video several times now and I have a question. Why did you not use the "ratchet pawl" when you ground the top of the teeth with the "Emery stone"? Should that not be done? Or am I incorrect?
pat dee it’s like the cover got in the way. The ratchet pawl gets in the way. It’s either a poor design on the machine/tool or poor instructions on the owners manual. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question. Have a great week. 👍😁 this tool will definitely save you some money. I love it. Practice on an old blade first though.
Great video thanks brother. That's a good blade know. With just part of it sharpened. Looks like a lot of work but I bet it pays off. I don't trust carbide blades very much. I get the better ones and when they are done I get new. Had a piece of carbide hit me in my glasses and that was enough. Cutting a few pieces of oak year's ago and still try to keep a new one on the table saw. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother
That’s scary having a tip fly off like that. It could have been really bad. I like the high tooth count blades for the stuff I do. So I remember sharpening them when I was in carpentry class. I saw this and figured it would save me a few bucks on blades. 👍😁 thanks for sharing that story with me. I hope you have a great weekend brother
It's nice that you can tilt the motor for different tooth geometry. I'm a trim carpenter and I run through a lot of blades, tired of buying 40 dollar blades all the time for my miter saw so I'm gonna sharpen all my blades with alternating top bevels for nice cross cuts.
It seems to me that you're using the blade support post as the tooth stop, but it won't stop the blade from switching around and cutting off your fingers where your'e holding it !!! You MUST use the blade stop which is in the top right hand side of the video screen... which you have left completely unused. This unused blade stop serves two purposes... 1) to index the cut for each tooth... and most importantly...TO STOP THE BLADE TWISTING AROUND AND TAKING OFF YOUR FINGERS IF THE TOOTH YOU ARE SHARPENING SNAGS AGAINST THE GRINDING WHEEL. Greetings from Southport UK.
Thank you for the feedback. Do you have a video? I’d love to watch it and see how you do it. The instructions with this product isn’t very good. 👍😁 have a great weekend. I hope y’all stay safe in this crazy time with the virus.
Very well done . I have watched a few good videos on this particular sharpener but this one was the best . While the sharpener itself is cheap in both price and quality , it is useeable with this video . Without the video , it is beyond difficult to learn as the instructions that come with the tool are hard to understand and the pictures are of poor quality . That said, the price is so low it is worth the extra effort . I strongly agree with your final assesment - good for home use ( a couple of blades per month ? ) but I would be looking for something of much higher quality for frequent sharpening in a wood shop.
DESIGN FLAW! That blade stop thing is on the wrong side of the grinding wheel it needs locate the tooth after it is ground to have all the teeth even as when you get to the last one or two teeth to be ground they will be at two times more metal removed from the teeth.
it would help from the viewers point of view if you put safety glasses on and lifted the visor of the machine up so we can see what the business nd of the job is doing. thankyou.

Very nice tool. I am from the Philippines. How can I buy this one?
Your video is proof that a picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks!
Thank you. 👍😁
I watch yours and 2 others the other 2 did not sharpen the tip angle. So your the most complete and there for the best! Thanks!
Thank you for the awesome feedback 👍😁

It's my pleasure

I Used A 3 Sided File To Sharpen My Blades For Over 40 Years
& I Think It's Alot More Efective.
Excellent demonstration!!. Very clear instructions, especially the small details.
Thank You. Have a great week

How are you sharpening the top angle of carbide teeth with an emery wheel? Even in the video it comes up and says steel tips only.
One of the best video's; especially of the emery stone. Thank you kind Sir
I appreciate you. 👍😁

@@VansWorld Just picked up one of these sharpeners yesterday...using your video as a "How To" video to sharpen my blades.

You may have to go around it several passes slowly to get a good edge. You can feel the tip with your finger to see if it’s sharp as a new one. 👍😁

Ain’t it though. Man it’s a big money saver. If you get one ya better practice with a junk blade first lol.

Do you use Google AdSense?
Anyone try to sharpen a 200 tooth plywood blade with this sharpener?
Automotive brake cleaner takes the tar off quick and easy.
Great tip. Thank you. 😁👍
it looks like a lot of work it may be cheaper to buy a new blade
Just cleaning the teeth will make a big difference in how the blade cuts.
Oven cleaner is a very good way to clean saw blades. It is lye! Be careful. Or, paint stripper.
Thanks for the great tip 😁👍
