Some great options there Gavin. Happy reading.
Thanks - hope you can join in the July fun!
All these old art covers. That orphans of the Sky I first saw in an awesome collection called Flights of Icarus.
Yep. The cover is never a dealbreaker, but modern covers seem pallid and uninspired by comparison. I don’t think the AI that gets used now is going to make that any better…
Terrific video, Gavin. You will be my go-to person for recommendations.
Ha! In that case I will have to come up with a list of ones I’ve actually read :)

That’s a great cover on Planet Stories 😊. Some fab recommendations as usual 😊
Thanks Debs. I think the colors are so vibrant (garish) because only the boldest colors would work on the cheap paper - everything else just soaks in and fades. Still, if I can look that good at 79 years old, I’ll be happy.
@@GenreBooks23 I really love the graphics of the 30s and 40s. I’d like to look that good now 😂
Interesting selection Gavin - I'll be going through my anthologies and looking for 40s stories for that week. Great video mate.
Hi thanks! Anthologies are the way to go with these quick events, you can cover a lot of ground..
@@GenreBooks23 absolutely!
1:10 ‘wave it about like an idiot’ 😅 made me laugh out loud, Gavin. It’s cool you have physical copies of those magazines. By the way, in your search of finding more magazines- you might find success browsing Etsy, if you haven’t already.
Anyway, I like how you’re breaking down your videos for this. Orphans of the Sky looks pretty interesting.
Thanks Diane- I will take your Etsy advice and have a look.
Some good possibilities.
Thanks. Feel like a fox in a henhouse, raiding the shelves for this event.
