After a few months of searching, I came across your tutorial. I'm very thankful for the time you put in to this video. My mother couldn't get her childhood ring back together, but you made it possible. Have a great day/night wherever you are.
You're welcome, glad to help. That's pretty much the reason I wanted to figure these out way back, a few people I know paid silly money for a jewellery store to 'fix' them, now you know when they disappear into the back room and reappear 15 minutes later what they're really doing, 5 min to fix the ring, 10 min tea break, :)
I bought one o these rings yesterday from a jeweller who couldn't reassemble it so I only had to pay for the weight of the silver. (£3) Most of the so--called demonstations on UA-cam are any, or all, of the following: lacking any commentary at all; lacking adequate explanation; out of focus (why?); or American. At last I have found a demonstration video that is very well explained in a lovely regional accent, is in focus, and makes reassembly possible with a bit of practice. thank you for sharing.
Wow! You got a bargain and I'm so pleased my video helped. I'm astounded that a jeweller retailing it didn't know how to reassemble it though. The more rings, the more fiddly it is to get the last couple in but patience and gentle wriggling and persuasion will get you there, they're also great to practice on when you're sitting bored in, for example, a waiting room.
my dad gave me this ring for graduation. It was his favorite ring. I went on a trip and accidentally set it down incorrectly. This took me over 3 hours to figure out on the car ride home and now i’m saved from a load of pain. It’s not easy but then again it’s not supposed be. Thanks man
Brilliant! It took my fiance aprox 8 hours to figure out how to fix my 4 band ring... and he is an Engineer!!!! Now that we have a " talking video" it will help me fix it back if ever it comes apart again. Believe me, I was about to throw the piece of crap in the bin!
THANK YOU! So much for posting this video! A co-worker has one of these rings and the jewelry shop charges her 15 bucks to put it together again. Somehow I got stuck with getting it together and thanks to your video I got it completed! Thanks again!
Hi, only just seeing this comment for some reason so apologies for not responding before. The camera is nothing exceptional, its a Sanyo Xacti, main thing is to look for one with a selectable AF range - Macro/closeup depicted by a flower as well as landscape usually depicted by a mountain, AF lock is useful too, then you can get it in focus and lock it making sure it won't lose the focus point, otherwise it's the expensive manual focus cameras.
Interesting.. I've been doing these rings for decades since my grandad gave me one, my method is very different and I think easier but I can see how your works, nice video.
spidiq8 It’s always pairs of rings that are worked with. Single rings with a 4 piece, 2 pairs and 2cringx with a 6 piece and 4 pairs with an 8 piece. I’ve seen another video that’s similar to my method, you make a diamond shape to start with the outer rings and then go from there. 😊
I bought a 9 band ring as a wedding ring in 2010. Wore it on my wedding day and it fell off my finger on the plane the next day. Found it but it's been sitting in a bowl on the shelf for 11 years unsolved now. I'll try this and see if it is similar. No 9 band tutorials anywhere that I can find?
Good luck with reassembly. That's terrible it's been sitting unworn for so long. The principle is the same for all these, the only difference is, with an odd number there's only a single Central ring you work around instead of the pair do making it slightly easier to wiggle in the later pieces.
I’m not sure if you could help me but I’m having a lot of issues with my 8 band ring binding at the first/second ring no matter which outside ring I choose. Any advice?
Hello I make puzzle rings (which is how I came to find this video), and need to buy a camera that is suitable for taking close-up video, so that I can post ones such as yours. Obviously, your camera works just fine in this respect, so I am wondering whether you would tell me what it is. I've got my fingers crossed that it is not too expensive. Hope to hear from you soon. this is a vey welll explained video! thank you for that. however, i canNOT get myself to solve the puzzle ring i bought on a whim from a street vendor in downtown toronto. i follow the instructions, but just cannot get past the very first step after getting the two bands together......i have spent hours upon hours trying to get this shit but its just tooo hard. im thinking maybe my rings are bad quality... they just dont want to loop into that crazy 8 section!!:(((
Is there a different way to explain the first step? I have one that was my grandmother's, my mother took it apart as a teenager and no one in my family was able to fix it for over 20 years. I managed to fix it completely on accident because I got so irritated at the first step I dropped it and it somehow did the first step, but I dropped it not even 2 days later and it came completely undone. Havent been able to fix it for months.
Back in theb´70s my dad bought a 18kt 6 piece puzzle-ring in Kuweit. He never learned how to put it back together. 1997 he gave it to me as a marriage present. I can fix it. Now my kids are battling and trying to fix it. No chance.
Okay Squidiq8, I have put together puzzle rings before... was reminded of how with your vid. All good there. What I am having issues with is the lack of space. For some reason this ring I am working on does NOT have enough space to allow the rings to settle into place.Any suggestions? I cannot even leave enough room by keeping the rings spread.
I bought this years ago from a small jewellery shop in a shopping centre (mall) I'm really not sure of a place you might find one. Have you checked online?
+romeo lagardon The principal is the same for any of this type regardless of the number of rings, even an odd number as the you work from the middle 1 if odd or 2 if even numbered, hopefully this will get yours re assembled

At 2:17 the multiple bottom rings are going through the cross rings in the middle, but instead when I get there my bottom rings sit across the loop horizontally. Thats as far as i get

Thank you, very helpful. I'm still struggling with the last ring, but I get the idea :-)
I've had this one years, You can find puzzle rings at any decent jewellers though
Which ever ring you have insure that the two outer bands don't some how go inside each other when ring is disassembled.

Who designed this ring is beautiful
I don't know who originally designed these but the idea of them in multiple bands has been around a good while.

Where do I buy this
Many jewellers would be able to source one of these for you. an online search for puzzle ring should also find a selection.

May I get one ring 💍 please reply
I don't sell these, this was filmed just to show how to assemble it.
where can i buy this ring?

Once you have the central rings aligned it should be fairly easy. The hardest part is getting the last couple in.
