This is a fun horror movie aside from Belial being a creep. I haven't seen the sequels. Whenever I've seen this one though, it seems like it's always been followed by "Castle Freak".
i did a basket case-malignant double feature for my 31 days of horror in oct 2022 and while i did enjoy this movie, i wish that scene in particular wasn't so... explicit. obviously there's nuance in portraying SA on screen, and throughout the film we're shown that belial isn't a character we should be rooting for (horrible upbringing doesn't give you a pass to be a terrible person!) so it's not like that scene is endorsing or promoting it. it just feels so exploitative that i can't get behind its inclusion in the final cut. as for something positive to say about this movie, umm... when they're dead at the end, and belial is lying beside duane where they used to be attached, that's some good shit. i really felt for duane as a character, too. even though belial was surgically removed, they were still connected (emotionally, and through their psychic bond) and he wanted to save his brother. through circumstance, they ended up being the only family each other had. thanks for reacting :) maybe i should rewatch malignant soon...
They actually totally did have the actor (who’s name I’m currently blanking on) streak gorilla style through NYC at 4am 😂

I enjoyed this movie for what it was. And I did a reaction to Malignant 2 year ago.
